Tonight's Must Reads
I listened to the President's speech on my way home last night and was flabbergasted at the DNC leadership retoric following, to them it is "69" all over again. I bit off a chunk of that chaw when I was young and stupid and the rancid flavor still lingers. I am glad I grew up. I found it fit its venue and audience well, a military one. Pelosi's rebuttal, give me a break, that woman is a shame to the US as a ranking spokesperson for the DNC. Well the voice of the 'Gay Bay' has spoken and showed the world again how completely ignorant the left truelly is. I am just a lowly redneck contractor, how could I know enough to see through their droppings? BAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!! The difference is conservatives are used to walking uphill, the liberals are used to running away, downhill. We need to learn to just step aside and let them go screaming on past in their suicide run.

I can forgive a donkey, LGF has more member posters than BOR could dream of, Powerline and Hugh Hewitt get way more webhits than the mighty BOR's site ever does. BOR fears the blogosphere as the spin does start and stop with the blogs now, not his BOR majesty, much less his idotic staff. They do not control their members as they wish to, censoring free speech away from their gated grotto is FLAT OUT WRONG and more than a little bit rude.

New Toy
My friends and readers ,you are my rope, my "protection", without you it is not possible. I aim to run a first class blog and if the FBZ staff doesn't like it, their loss, not mine, my friends will find me.
Please! do not be afraid to comment , they can only use it against you if you direct copy and paste from there or use Bill O'Reilly's name in your comments, besides, there are many threads that have zero to do with the FBZ and carry on the Barnyard tradition of information and discussion. Without that they have nothing. In fact, it is nolonger even called the FBZ anymore so a pox on them (alert: I need an appropriate jpeg face to post here), LOL. I will not be surprised if BOR shuts down the FBZ for good, it has become a cancer to his site. It is not what I joined three years ago, a mere shadow. I tried to help and they rejected it outright, BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!. I climbed over their rat maze walls and found freedom and they intimidate those that visit here , can you say Stalin?Thought Police? Totalitarianism? Are they studying you/us like rats in some labratory, reading and analyzing our posts for its level of threat and then removing or threatening those that don't tow the line or gathering info for sick pollsters. Does Bill test the pulse of america by the FBZ? He would be stupid if he didn't and he is far from stupid. I have my Barnyard, and those that post here have full rights to do so under the 1st Ammendment, the use of your words here against you there is unconstitutional.

Oh Boy a New Toy
A Good Sunday to All
Went for a sunday leg stretcher along a nice creek that has a very photogenic set of falls and mini canyon. There are lots of really neat rock formations and plenty of inviting swimming holes to cool off. Cool, dripping, hidden grottos with ferns and mosses not found just a few yards away. My favorite spot has a rock promontory that a short set of falls breaks over in many fascinating ways and places into a nice large pool. I saw what I believe to be my first freshwater otters moving across some open rock about fifty yards away, it would be an ideal canyon for a pair. I see plenty of fish and crawdads and it is in a wildlife refuge with a large lake a few miles down stream . A great place to cool off and meditate on the beauty of His creation.

Congressman Todd Akin (R-MO) was one of the elected officials who attended the Religious Freedom Coalition reception on Capitol Hill on Tuesday, June 21st. While there he talked briefly about the reintroduced Pledge Protection Act. The bill protects "under God" in the current Pledge of Allegiance from the purview of federal courts. His bill was passed by the previous session of the House. Senator Brownback, who was also present at our reception Tuesday night, will support the bill in the Senate. After celebrating the Supreme Court's decision yesterday to effectively give local governments carte blanche to seize land for private development, some local officials began quickly moving to use their new unlimited authority. Officials in the beachfront town of Freeport, Texas, announced they would move forward with plans to commandeer property owned by two seafood companies in order to allow the construction of a 900-slip private marina. Freeport will even be loaning the developers $6 million to finance the project, and if it fails the town won't be getting its money back. What is certain is that the displacement of the two seafood companies will cost scores of jobs.
The Supreme Court's decision, by a narrow majority with Justice Anthony Kennedy as swing vote, has prompted state Rep. Frank Corte, a Republican from San Antonio, to propose a state constitutional amendment limiting the power to condemn private land for use by other private entities. He says the amendment is now necessary in order to "limit a local governmental entity's power of eminent domain, preventing them from bulldozing residences in favor of private developers." No doubt there will be similar moves in other states as voters wake up to the realization that the Supreme Court has granted revenue-hungry local governments more or less unlimited authority to seize homes and businesses in order to achieve a "higher use" of the property.

The last thing we need in Iraq is a timeline for withdrawal. Victory sets its own schedule, and it's not contingent on the U.S. election calendar. Arbitrarily forcing a timetable on the battlefield will only aid the enemy. Yet a growing number of politicians are now calling for just that--or, at least, a better (read more negative) official accounting of what's happening in Iraq. With polls showing less support for the war and pols parroting that public opinion, we're in danger of losing sight of how to defeat the enemy.

FAIR Accepts Senator McCain’s Offer to Debate Comprehensive Immigration ReformDuring remarks Monday before the American League of Lobbyists (ALL), Senator John McCain offered to debate FAIR “any time, any place” about the critical issue of comprehensive immigration reform in the United States. In his presentation to the ALL gathering, Senator McCain asserted that immigration is now the issue of greatest concern to the American public.
Dan Stein, president of FAIR, immediately accepted Senator McCain’s proposal for a “respectful” debate about immigration policy. “We thank Senator McCain for his offer to debate this critical public policy issue, and we respectfully and enthusiastically accept that invitation,” said Stein. “A frank and public debate about immigration policy has long been needed in this country, and we look forward to having this discussion at the Senator’s earliest possible convenience.”
Senators McCain and Kennedy have introduced legislation that would grant amnesty to millions of illegal aliens in the U.S. and open the doors to millions of additional guest workers who would ultimately become permanent residents of the U.S. A second piece of legislation, authored by Senators John Cornyn and Jon Kyl, is expected to be introduced in the next few weeks.
“On one matter there is absolutely no disagreement between ourselves and Senator McCain: immigration is the most important issue facing the United States today,” said Stein. “The decisions that Congress makes this year will affect every meaningful aspect of life in America for generations to come. From homeland security, to the environment, to the long-term viability of the middle class in America, immigration policy will play a defining role in the sort of country our children and grandchildren will inherit.”
In a letter to Senator McCain, FAIR proposes a public debate at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., this summer. FAIR is also amenable to holding additional debates at a time and location of Senator McCain’s choosing. “Our bottom line is that comprehensive immigration reform is a matter that must be debated before any serious consideration is given to pending legislation and that it be held in a forum that affords the greatest possible coverage by the media. If, as the Senator has pointed out, this is the number one concern for the American public, then it must be debated before the American public,” Stein said.
In response to the McCain-Kennedy and other expected legislation, FAIR has published Seven Principles for Comprehensive Immigration Reform. “We believe the principles we propose for a comprehensive overhaul of American immigration policy represent the interests and concerns of the vast majority of Americans. We eagerly look forward to testing those principles in an open and respectful debate with Senator McCain, and contributing to comprehensive immigration reform that is in the national interest,” Stein concluded.

But wait a second . . . what about Kerry's deeds? And what about others who claim moral authority as protectors of the poor?

Supreme Court Docket

It’s been said that “no man’s life, liberty, or property are safe while the legislature is in session.” Such sentiments are equally applicable to the U.S. Supreme Court. The upcoming decision of the court in two Ten Commandments cases provides it with the opportunity to prove the sentiments more true or more false.
I'll keep new information on this posted as it comes in.
I know I won't stand for what Roy Moore went through, I am sure that will be part of their debate.
A Father's Day Salute
It is a shame the staggering percentage of our nation's children that are growing up in fatherless homes. The percentage of juvenile delinquents without dads is around 90%, by dads I mean responsible ones. Those that get up and go to work and bust their tail to make a life for that precious gift they were given by most preferably a loving devoted wife.
I have no children personally, a wonderful gorgeous niece, though my exwife had two boys. I coached the elder's (15) soccer team and taught her how to score the younger's(12) baseball games. There is nothing like little league ball with a good concession stand, great burgers and fries, and some avid young atheletes giving it their best. I have coached in soccer camps and refereed youth soccer and basketball for extra cash, you get the rabid parents there. I have one observation from those years of working with the youths and parents: Where were all the Dads? Not at the games, Not on my call lists ?!? I don't know?

An American Hero
While The Patriot does not condone any policy that places women in combat roles, sometimes our support units get caught in the middle of urban assaults and are forced to fight. That was the case on 20 March when 23-year-old Sgt. Leigh Ann Hester's MP unit was ambushed while guarding a convoy south of Baghdad. Hester led her team in a counterattack of about 50 insurgents and used her M-4 to kill three attackers in order to protect other support soldiers who were pinned down under fire.
When the dust settled, 27 insurgents were dead, six wounded and one captured.
Thursday, Hester became the first woman since World War II to earn a Silver Star -- the nation's third-highest award for valor and bravery in combat. Her squad leader, Staff Sgt. Timothy Nein, also was awarded a Silver Star.
Thousands of women have served in support roles in Iraq; 36 have been killed and 285 wounded. Because of the nature of this conflict with Jihadistan, there is no defined warfront but only skirmish lines when confronted by Jihadis. Bush Says NO to Pulling Troops in Iraq
While this is good as it speaks volumes of his leadership skills, he is in danger of setting up the 08 Repub candidate for failure against Hillary. I say stay until the job is done but can we get some guidelines that may indicate what exactly constitutes a done job in Bush's mind? Is it when we go x number of months without an attack? Is it after x number of successful elections? Is it after x number of Iraqis are trained? He needs to give some hint here or people are going to say "We need a change" and go with Hillary.

Why is that? One reason is that the party of FDR and JFK no longer seems to have a moderate wing; they have become doughnut Democrats with no middle. This point is best exemplified by the utter collapse of Democrats in the South. In 1980 there were 20 mostly conservative Democrats in the Senate; now there are four, and even they are endangered.
• With the notable exception of Joe Lieberman, there are virtually no Scoop Jackson defense hawks remaining in a party that has made Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo its main policy touchstones for the war on terror.
• The party that voted en masse for income and capital gains tax cuts under JFK now has but one message on taxes: Raise them.
• On trade, the Democrats who delivered 102 House votes for Nafta and Bill Clinton in 1994 will, at last count, provide all of five House votes for the Central American Free Trade Agreement.
• The Clinton Democrats helped enact the most momentous social policy legislation of the past generation: welfare reform. Now Democrats conspire every day to gut work-for-welfare requirements and prevent the renewal of welfare reform by Congress.
• Above all, there's the know-nothing-ism on Social Security. The Democrats in unison proclaim that Mr. Bush is advancing a risky right-wing scheme to destroy Social Security by creating private investment accounts for workers.
