As part of Centcom's outreach to get past the lefty media spin they have contacted various bloggers that link back to them, I am one of them. For about about eight months now I have recieved some of their press releases directly untill recently, now I receive them all, same as the MSM. Here are a couple examples, and then see how they are rewritten in tomorrow's papers: a typical release.

Soldiers from Company C, 1st Battalion, 61st Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, were approached by a young man who informed an interpreter there were kidnap victims inside a nearby house. MND-B Soldiers moved to the house, where they found three victims tied up, blindfolded and lying on the floor with a kidnapper watching over them. Soldiers entered the house and rescued the victims and detained the kidnapper.

BAGHDAD — Efforts this week to quell violence in the capital city are showing signs of progress, but Coalition leaders say the battle is far from over.

“Abating the extremists in the capital will neither be easy nor rapid,” Multi-National Force - Iraq spokesman Maj. Gen. William Caldwell said this week of progress in the capital city. “Challenges will ensue, but efforts will march forward block by block.”
U.S. and Iraqi forces have been conducting combined missions in Baghdad as part of Operation Together Forward, an Iraqi-led campaign to reduce violence in the capital, while at the same time promoting economic incentives, civic action projects and the control of illegal weapons.

This past week, Iraqi and Coalition forces concentrated on four major Baghdad hot spots – mostly in the western part of the city – in an effort to reduce the number of murders, kidnappings, assassinations and car bombs in those areas. Operations in the al-Doura neighborhood of southern Baghdad continued to build on the improved security established over the past two weeks.

The combined operations on simultaneous objectives in western Baghdad are led by the Soldiers from the 6th Iraqi Army Division and policemen from the 2nd Iraqi National Police Division, supported by Soldiers from 2nd Brigade Combat Team and 172nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team.

Approximately 6,000 additional Iraqi Security Forces were sent to the MND-B area of operations in support of Phase II of Operation Together Forward, as well as approximately 3,500 Soldiers of 172nd SBCT, and 2,000 Soldiers from the 2nd BCT.

According to the Coalition commander responsible for operations in Baghdad, the concept essentially calls on Coalition and Iraqi forces to cordon off an area and search each street, house by house.

Maj. Gen. James Thurman, commander of Multi-National Division - Baghdad, this week said he is optimistic about what he has seen since operations to quell sectarian violence started.

“Security in Baghdad is the top priority for everyone working in Operation Together Forward,” added Col. Robert Scurlock, commander of the U.S. 1st Armored Division’s 2nd Brigade Combat Team. “Iraqi security forces and Coalition forces are working side by side every day to increase security in Baghdad and help the Iraqi people return to a more normal domestic life.”

Operations in the capital city have not only been successful in the security arena, but also in terms of developing relationships between the Iraqi people and Iraqi security forces, added Col. Michael Beech, commander of 4th Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division.

Caldwell added that the most significant developments are less easily measured.

“What really matters is the number of businesses that reopened and will remain open, the refurbished stalls … in the marketplace there,” said the general. “The drainage has improved. The rubbish is removed. And of course, like we’d all like to see, the number of children that you can see during their summer break out riding their bikes and playing in the streets.”

Caldwell said operations look beyond short-term security concerns. The mantra is “clear, hold, rebuild.” Iraqi and Coalition forces clear neighborhoods and hold them so terrorists cannot come back, and they invest in rebuilding essential services and stimulating economic growth.

“The military forces, the Iraqi security forces, the Coalition support can help set the stage for peace to occur, but they cannot achieve peace,” he said. “It’s going to take all the other factors. It’s going to take the economics; it’s going to take the governance; and, most importantly, it’s going to take the will of the Iraqi people to make this both work and sustain itself. But they’ve absolutely got the commitment.”

In Ameriya -- a key neighborhood in western Baghdad -- more than 50 percent of the shops in the market were re-opened after Iraqi and Coalition forces joined this week to squelch the violence in that neighborhood, Iraqi Army Brig. Gen. Abdul Jaleel said during a press conference Aug. 16.

Jaleel is the commander of 1st Brigade, 6th Iraq Army Division, the unit that took the lead during a recent sweep of the town with support from the U.S. 2nd Brigade Combat Team.

Iraqi and Coalition forces searched about 6,000 houses and buildings in the Ameriya neighborhood, including the market area.

During the joint press conference, Jaleel and Scurlock said they see reclaiming the market as a way to repair a neighborhood that was torn apart by violence.

“We want to get the stores open and get people back to a normal life,” said Scurlock. “With unity and security, there will be prosperity.”

Although combined Coalition and Iraqi operations here have done much to reduce violence and bring stability to the area, the ultimate solution depends on the Iraqi people’s willingness to reject violence and cooperate with Iraqi security forces, according to Beech.

“The security situation confronting the capital is a complex one, and the solution must be long-term,” he said. “The Iraqi government, Coalition forces and Iraqi security forces are dedicated to establishing peace in Baghdad.”

Along with providing essential services, he said the current security plan makes provisions for long-term stability within this area.

“To ensure the population (that) is living in these neighborhoods knows who's responsible for securing them, we have worked to establish habitual relationships between particular Iraqi security forces, U.S. forces with a particular neighborhood.”

Neighborhoods within Baghdad are being paired with a particular Iraqi Police company and a U.S. military company.

“This is in an effort to establish true community-based policing and security and build trust and confidence in the national police and the people that they protect,” added the colonel.

One indicator that the Iraqi people trust their security forces more is the increase in communication between the people and the Iraqi Police, explained Beech. He said the Iraqi brigade commander in his area has been receiving more and more phone calls from concerned citizens with tips, and imams of the local mosques are talking to him more readily.

As the security plan for Baghdad moves forward, and Iraqi citizens gain trust in their security forces, operations are beginning to see tangible results.

In addition to large munitions cache discoveries, this week Iraqi and Coalition forces thwarted a number of kidnapping attempts, captured several key insurgent leaders and numerous terrorist suspects, and sponsored several civic and humanitarian-assistance projects to help provide for the needs of Baghdad residents.

Monday Meanderings

I am sure many people wonder why us Ca. conservatives are so hard headed and control so many key committee seats? If you had to live in Diboxpelosiville, and be conservative, you learn to hit hard and not stop. They are going to stink warfare, the agent diboxipelosicide, guaranteed to make your eyes water and get nothing done, ie, rotten onions, so the government can step in and take care of you. Guess who pays for it? The victim, the minute they go back to work as a taxpayer.
I am glad Arnold Schwartzenegger has a solid hold on reelection. Don't worry America, California hasn't fallen over the brink yet and we have the Gubernator as our 'anchor' man. The GOP has a solid ticket this year and expexts no shifts . Shoot we managed to hold a district vacated by a disgrace, Randy Cunningham, proving being military does not mean you are a perfect machine, yet human and fallible.We also know we have Tom McClintock on his coattail's as LG, the conservative voice. We also know from being in Diboxpelosiville, we have to hold our noses and yell over the stench of their anti-american rallies .
Fellow conservatives this is one of the most important elections of our lifetime, possibly in history, it is not time to sit down, it is time for action like you have never engaged in, activism. We have to get off the highhorses and walk the beat, engage your friends and neighbors, ask the tough questions and have a solution ready. The Dems are tripping all over themselves to make the most anti-American, anti-Israeli statement they can all wrapped in a sweet poisonous clover .
Now is the time to grow the roots, the soil of America is ready, we as conservatives must take advantage of it and I am confident in our message.It is time to remove a few coyotes and add a few more sheepdogs in the Goat's opinion.

Tiger Makes it an Even Dozen

Well Mr. Woods has handily won his twelth major by blistering Medina, the longest course in PGA history, I knew it was over when he took the lead yesterday. Tiger does not lose a lead on sunday especially in a major.

If readers get a chance to catch Robert Spencer of Jihad Watch.org and Human Events on Cspan's Q&A with Brian Lamb tonight , do, it is a fascinating interview.
Their coverage of a press conference with British Conservative Leader, David Cameron is also very good, he is good. I like watching he and Tony Blair go after each other in Parliament much more entertaining than listening to Kennedy's bluster or Biden's meandering. I must say the GOP doesn't have many moving speakers either. Mitt Romney gives the best speech of anybody by far.

Talk radio is going to take Howard Dean's speech saturday apart. This is hilarious. Howlin' Howie definatetly gave plenty of fodder for the rightwing bloggers and radio hosts, it will be interesting to hear.

Weekend Rambler

For great posts on the Israeli-Lebanon situation, Michael Totten has some awesome photojournalism from the border region and some unique insight into the conflict, very good reading and much recomended as is Mike Yon. Meanwhile Bill Roggio and the team at Counter-terrorism blog has a comprehensive analysis of recent events in the middle-east as does Threatswatch.
Amir Taheri, Victor Hansen and Charles Krauthammer have great reads listed at Benador Associates, one of the best compendiums and public relations firms on the planet for middle-eastern topics and thought, one of my top three sources, besides Townhall and The Federalist Patriot Post, of course.
Can anyone else smell the sulphor hydroxide, rotten egg smell, given of by CAIR and the rest of islam? Sharia law is largely plagerized and distorted from the Torah, written some 5000+ years ago. Even the most strict of Jews have moved far beyond a rigid interpretation of Moseanic Law. Islam is the enemy, make no mistake about it and prepare yourself for war.

Nathaniel Hale is better remembered for another quote, his dieing one "I regret that I have but one life to give for my country". I am thankful there are plenty just like him that make up our Patriot Armed Forces. Oh, I see a change in the country and it does not fit DNC or the loonbat left's prognostications. For example,"The Federalist Patriot" has the highest subscription rate of any online publication. As Hugh Hewitt points out in his latest book "Painting the Map Red", America is center-right politically. Pollsters take polls in population centers and ignore the breadth of America, the rest of us far outnumber New York and LA,etc.. A big city liberal's world view matters little to this country boy, and my vote will reflect that.
I know Dr. Rice let America and Israel down with this cease fire, but I have to wonder about deeper policy. If Israel had pushed harder than it did would it have inflamed the moderate section of the Muslim world? Has Islam ever made clear the rights of other faiths to be free? Islam is a fairly modern "religion" that chooses to dictate over the rest through violence against the innocent, subjugation. Nothing I have seen or read could lead me to believe otherwise. The valiant efforts of the Afgani and Iraqi people to secure their countries at least tell me the people just want to live in peace.
Knowing a 100 mil. people want nothing more than the death of America does not make me rest easy,appeasement is not the answer, a fight for our very lives maybe sooner than we think if the reconquistas team up with the jihadis and mara salvastrucha(ms13). My bet is to arm yourself and well under our second ammendment and prepare for local action if needed, if we are not ready to protect ourselves we are not worth protecting other than a flock of sheep. We are the frontline defense, not the moonbats shrieking about civil rights for gays and other deviants and lowlifes. It is us Americans willing and able to bear arms for this noble country that keeps it free for the moonbats to breed. I haven't figured that out yet since they don't declare a sex, unless it is in support of child sex, ahem, blocking parental notiification and cross state line transportation of underage girls for abortion. That is something to be worked out between the children and parents with probable male prosecution, age and situation dependant.

Ehud Olmert will go down to a no confidence vote in Israel as will his defense minister and hopefully and likely see Ben Netanyahu back to reunite Israel. They know how to fight, will whats left of the west support them or abandon them? Do they not have the right to defend themselves? Dr. Rice and John Bolton have let me down to endorse such a resolution that lets hezbollah exist, disappointment is a little word.

Mike Wallace asked questions that a man on a death watch would while interviewing the Iranian Ptesident, clearly intimidated and behoven. Hitler was very personable and one of the most dynamic orators in history, as history shows, he was an evil man despite his intellectual accoplishments. A little over three years ago, CBS sent Dan Rather to Baghdad to ask meaningless questions to, and provide a propaganda vehicle for, Saddam Hussein. Last night, Communication for Barbarians Service broadcast Mike Wallace's equally meaningless interview with the Islamic Republic of Iran's fanatical leader.

Interviews with evil leaders are meaningless at best and destructive at worst. Few reporters will ask real questions or challenge the propaganda responses of these leaders. These interviews merely offer them invaluable "humanizing" time and ask questions that reconfirm the low state of television news.

Homosexuals were on their strongest ground when they said that the law had no business interfering with relations between consenting adults. Now they want the law to put a seal of approval on their behavior. But no one is entitled to anyone else's approval.

Why is marriage considered to be any of the law's business in the first place? Because the state asserts an interest in the outcomes of certain unions, separate from and independent of the interests of the parties themselves.

In the absence of the institution of marriage, the individuals could arrange their relationship whatever way they wanted to, making it temporary or permanent, and sharing their worldly belongings in whatever way they chose.

Do any of my readers really believe something positive will come of this ceasefire between Israel and hesbollah? Ceasefire has brought intifada and death to the Isaelis, the Barnyard cannot support it. I support Israel's right to protect herself as a soveriegn nation. Who believes the United Nations has the guts or other necessary body parts to disarm Hezbollah, as a previous U.N. resolution required the terrorist organization to do? When arms and missiles continue to flow from Iran and Syria, will the United Nations shout, "halt" and apply the necessary force to stop them? They didn't before. And what makes anyone think that Hezbollah is about to disarm? The Jerusalem Post reported recently that: "The Lebanese government was scheduled to meet on Sunday to discuss the disarming of Hizbullah south of the Litani River, but postponed that meeting following indications by the guerrilla group that they would not do so."

California Politics

If you are into politics, California is the place to be, every district in an around LA, the Bay Area and some northern coastal enclaves are strictly liberal and the eastern portion and suburbia is very conservative. The edge where the ranchers from the midwest meet the city folk from another planet. It makes for a lively atmosphere polititically as I am sure a couple of my moonbat detractors would affirm, it seems we have our own "Gaza" strip, at least they are wealthy and pacifist with their illegal immigrant slave trade to pamper them. We are the state to watch, no matter what New Hampshire and Iowa have to say and our conservatives are positive, Ronnie taught us well, there is actually movement within the movement!

A Sunday Frolic

The last few weekends have been absolutely awesome for golf and it is so nice to be back on the links on a regular basis, game's a little rusty but its coming around. The frustrating thing is my once pinpoint iron game is gone but the big and little sticks are keeping me at steady bogey golf. I just need a little more range time and I will have it back together. I really like this club, Plumas Lake, twice in top 100, Golf Mag, its sneaky, open, but with many big trees and an often hidden creek meandering about, alot of reward for the well hit ball but lots of very sneaky trouble. If I can get a membership for the right price, I may go for it, then I will be a true "country club Republican" , LOL.

So, in a strange way, images of the dead and dying are attributed only to our failing. Unfortunately, if Resolution 1701 has any effect at all, its real meaning is that we now embark on a period in which Hezbollah will seize the opportunity to regroup and reload. The feeble and compromised mix of U.N. peacekeepers and the Lebanese army, which is the force authorized in this resolution, will fail to stop them. Iran and Syria will proceed apace with their terrorist infection and subjugation of Lebanon. The U.N. will wave around this latest piece of paper to try to prevent Israel from defending itself, or, for that matter, defending the rest of us against the “Death to Israel! Death to America!” Hezbollah agenda. Iran’s President Ahmadinejad, enjoying yet another confirmation of the U.N.’s mincing impotence in the face of guns, bombs, rockets, and terror, will continue his fevered preparations to roll out the nuclear bomb.

There is a good reason that Hizbullah chief Hassan Nasrallah has accepted UN Security Council Resolution 1701, which sets the terms for a cease-fire between his jihad army and the State of Israel.

The resolution represents a near-total victory for Hizbullah and its state sponsors Iran and Syria, and an unprecedented defeat for Israel and its ally the United States. This fact is evident both in the text of the resolution and in the very fact that the US decided to sponsor a cease-fire resolution before Israel had dismantled or seriously degraded Hizbullah's military capabilities.

What Causes Anti-Semitism?

I have sought for many years to understand the deep hatred for the Jewish people and their miniscule country, Israel, with few results until recently. It is pure jealousy over what this tiny contingent of people has managed to accomplish where so many others have failed miserably. There are many other reasons and most of them gross lies and morally bankrupt propoganda from very sick,depraved people.
Michael Medved, one of my favorite radio talkers, has written a must read article that seeks to debunk the basis for those myths and lies and offers more insight into my long asked question. Why the Jews?
I had many Jewish friends growing up and enjoyed traditional Jewish ceders(sp?) more than once, perhaps why I turn to the Torah before the Gospels when seeking the Lord's advice even as a deep Christian. by no means am I a literalist. The Old Testament is the written history of the Jewish people and their testament to our mutual Creator and put in place a system of laws for a civil society to prosper out of chaos. Their geneological history is astounding in its depth and breadth as is their painstaking attention to historical detail. Why the Jews?
Perhaps as the world's parents and teachers the naturally immature act of rebellion against the moral template for the world set forth is Moseanic Law is the cause. That does not explain the Muslims, beyond pure jealousy, as sha'ria law is based in Moseanic law which was very, very harsh. Laws designed out of the very roots of civilzation and its earliest forms, we modern humans can only imagine their life by actually making a life in the desert with nothing but the desert and the sea to provide you life. Any student of human history would have to acknowledge this feat and fact. Just as any student of Middle Eastern history has to acknowledge who Mohammed actually was, a crazed pirate, a raping ,pillaging thief. That is why his adherents are what we are fighting today, evil in the name of God. The Jews are God's chosen ones for a reason. I guess this is my problem in finding a church, I stand somewhere between Rome and Jerusalem, the view is great but the stance precarious so I climb on and place protection where I can.

Why should Jews reject their thousands year old heritage and Christians reject Christ because a desert pirate, Mohommed told them to. Israel tried diplomacy, it got Intifada, it gave up Gaza and got war. To put this in size perspective, if Conneticut started launching rockets at Vermont and kidnapping its police, what do you think would happen? Ok, Conn. refuses to stop attacks until Ver. is out of Conn. territory because Conn. views Ver. as their territory and the rest of the US supports that. That is what Israel is up against. 8000 square miles of desert with no oil, no resources other than the work ethic of the Jewish people to make themselves a free prospering nation yet the Arabs must have it as well as their vast holdings.
Frankly , I am worried about a Persian Arab alliance through radical fascist islam, alla, the Ottoman's and the Great War. August 22nd, is a special day for radical shiites, Iran's President, the day the world must be in flames for the coming of the 12 Imam, end of times games is what they are playing, we already went through that with the USSR, of which Iran is a thin sock puppet. It is pretty obvious Russia is now playing tit for tat for our support of the mujahadeen and Bin Laden against them in Afghanistan, a told you so game, we are just now learning as they still deal with the islamists. In retrospect, who knows, we may have supported the wrong side for the right reasons, only history will tell.
This is my generations third war, I am in my forties, Vietnam, a battle of the Cold War WWIII, Gulf War I, and now GWII. I have learned one thing from it, we must kill them before they attempt to kill us, the classic duel on a grander stage, the world we live on. Perhaps the best reason to support John Bolton's confirmation as our nation's United Nations ambassador is that his approach to foreign policy is radically different from John Kerry's, as illustrated by their exchange during Bolton's confirmation hearings. It is a shame anyone had to miss this delicious slap-down.

Bolton said that for the United Nations to be effective on Iran, North Korea and Lebanon, the 15 members of the Security Council (and particularly the "PERM 5,") would have to reach policy agreements concerning those countries.

Well, where should I start other than it was a great day for a round of golf the most pure and noble of games, steroids and doping don't help you put that little white ball in the hole. It is a game of thought and physical action with an unpredictable finish unless your name is Ben Hogan or Tiger Woods and even then it is about how you overcome adversity, the bad shot, and recover gracefully or dig it out till the bitter end not how you play the perfect shots. Golf is nuance, touch and feel to be drawn from a limitless supply of options and techniques as is war.How does war apply to golf you might ask? I will compare hezbollah and Israel, Israel aims for the fairways and occassionly slices one off into the pool party at the house by the fairway, hezbollah chooses the correct club and aims at the house, specifically the pool area with innocents in abundance. Israel gets sued, hezbollah, they forget pool parties and hide, somethings wrong here. Its would be like letting one golfer hit to a clear fairway and the next, the Israeli., has hundreds of people flood the fairway and if he hits one he is penalized. I have read his comments and those of our president and their words offer something unforeseen for the middle-east, a path to peace with a clear victor and violence is not the answer in the long run. By all indications the people of the ME are ready for peace, and tired of the indiscriminate bombing of the Judaic as the Arab league remains largely silent as the current Hezbollah conflict enlarges vs Israel. Yes our State Dept. has gotten off Israel's back and Sec. Rice let Hesbollah know in no uncertain terms, disarm or be routed out. I won't complain about a bunch of gorgeous young ladies parading across my screen. I definately prefer the ethnically derived costumes in the introduction that have a realistic flavor and simplicity. I don't like the walking parade floats. They are all beautiful, stunning! I am a leg and face man, prefering proportion to excess and style to pure glamour. Puerto Rico, Denmarck, Switzerland, Columbia, Ethiopia, Russia, Canada, Japan, Brazil, Sweden, Trinidad-Tobago, Thailand, Bolivia, Hungary, USA, Paraguay, India, Argentina, Ukraine, and Mexico, top twenty and all are absolutely gorgeous, India was a double wow for me. , lots of of South American representation..

The Joy Of It

It seeeeems my loonbat detractors are absolutely bent on proving me right, not that I have problem with that. It looks like we are left with a very unruly left that has become more centralized and determined to take the course of Nero's Rome, facing an electorate that is moving to the right over gay marriage, illegal immigration and other socialist measures.
A loonbat recently stated that equating the Dems with socialists was incorrect in the comment section. I will return fire with this. How come the DNC is supporting an independant proclaimed socialist, Bernie Sanders, that will not accept the DNC nomination, and deserting a staunch liberal like Joe Lieberman? What else are we to percieve from the Cindy Sheehan rallies with the socialist stamp all over them? I totally encourage the loonbats to continue their campaign of lunacy, the GOP can only benefit... The ball is in our court, how we return it is up to us!

SoCal Wildfires

The high desert is once again in an uncontrollable blaze thanks to decades of fire suppression and strangling growth of underbrush. I know the area fairly well being a frequent visitor to Joshua Tree N.P. to climb and used to camp outside the park in the area now ablaze. It was a grossly overgrown area of desert scrub, manzanita is impassable and burns very hot, with many dead pines also overly dense from a bark beetle infection. This my friends is a recipe for horrific wildfire when combined with the ever preseant hot, dry wind. Many of my best friends are in forestry and agree with me.
When I lived in SoCal I did alot of volunteer work for a Boy Scout camp that was lost in the fires a couple years ago as favor to a man dedicated to forestry helping to clear defenible space, it was a blast. I helped remove some really big dead trees aound the camp and raised the trees and cleaned out all the dead wood around the camp. To no avail, it burned a couple years later, a real tragedy, it was a really cool Scout camp bordering an Indian reservation with great rock for climbing.
The primary pines in the region are the Coulter , Sugar, Pinon and Ponderosa, all heavy sap trees. Coulter pinecones, the worlds largest and heaviest could be called natures gas can when set afire. We always gathered a stack as a side for the camp fire as firelight, thrown on one at a time they illuminate quite an area for a surprising amount of time. All off these pines have a high turpentine content especially dead and burn with extreme heat, can you say an inferno?
The envirobats blocked removal of all those dead trees and other sane forestry practices for decades and this is the result. I used to be one of them, contibuting to The Sierra Club, Greenpeace, etc...., their policies ended up in the wrong place and unable reconcile my own research and observations. Fire is needed by the high desert environs to actually break open the the cones of theses pines and prepere the ground for their seeds, the mighty Sequoyia is a perfect example of this need of regular fire.
Meanwhile the desert gets fried beyond recognition thanks to decades of faulty forestry habits. That was is an unbelievably gorgeous area, it will recover, slowly, but on the bright side thousands of inaccessable boulders and climbing areas will now be wide open to first accent. Next spring will yield a gold mine of new spots as the granite in the region is unreal for climbing, as well as being adjacent to Joshua Tree. I miss camping down there, its a wonderful experience.

The Levant Erupts

It seems Michael Totten's post from the border region of Israel and Lebanon , (scroll around the whole month is awesome so I linked archives and not a direct), was sadly prophetic as he noted the extreme tension that was palpable to the point of snapping a couple months ago and it has snapped. I have to admit this event makes me more nervous than 9/11 did as Israel our "little brother" has been the main target of the radical islamists for a long time and it has nothing to do with Palestine. It is because they are Jewish, no other reason, as the terrorist thugs interpret the Koran correctly in its commands to kill the Jews. Mohammed, may he rot in Hell, spread his pseudo-religion through violence and subjugation not to God but to islam and him, in otherwords you would have peace islam only by submitting to Mohammed's rule of law Sha'ria otherwise you were considered second class, dhimmi and taxed for it or simply killed. Sounds like a glorious "religion" considering they haven't left the 11th century yet except for how to make bombs and pull a trigger.
Why are they unable to farm their land to produce food?
Why did the ingrates destroy greenhouses that employed thousands and fed many more in Gaza?
Why do they seek to better themselves by killing innocents in gruesome ways?

Evangelicals For Mitt!!

In browsing the web today, I came across a blog called evangelicalsformitt.

As most know, Mitt Romney is quite possibly the most perfect Republican candidate for the presidency that this country has seen in 25 years. He has exactly ONE stumbling block. He is a Mormon.

This has translated into anticipated primary problems among the evangelical voting bloc in the South which is absolutely needed to advance onto the nomination. As such, this blog gave me incredible reinforced hope for Mitt's future. Although I always believed he could eventually win them over, it has been a shaky spot of concern. After reading this blog, which I have linked at the top of the page, I feel much better.

Please go to the site and read up on his positions on varius issues as well as why this group of evangelicals has determined him to be the best candidate for the GOP in 08.

The Big Mess

As I'm sure most of you heard by now, Boston's Big Dig project was involved in a fatal catastrophe last night after a 12 ton piece of ceiling fell onto a vehicle killing newlywed Milena Delvalle, 38.

The Big Dig is a failed project ripe with corruption. Since its inception almost two decades ago, the country's largest infrastructure remodeling project has been plagued by outrageously overblown budgets and what is clearly shoddy work. In fact, local news reports circulating today stated that this same tunnel had a problem with the adhesive that held the pieces together as far back as 2001.

As you can guess from the picture to your right, Governor Mitt Romney who cut his vacation short to return to the scene, was not pleased.

"Gov. Mitt Romney said Tuesday he is taking legal action to oust the head of the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority after a woman was crushed to death by falling cement in a Boston Big Dig tunnel. "People should not have to drive through the Turnpike tunnels with their fingers crossed," Romney said. "Neither I nor anyone else could be or should be satisfied until we have new leadership at the Turnpike authority."

In what has been a long standing battle with the head of the MAss Transit Authority and Big Dig manager Matt Amorello, Governor Romney has now promised to fight with everything that he has until Mr Amorello is relieved of his duties. You see, among other oddities of the Bay State, there is a provision which makes it impossible for the Governor to fire Amorello without legal recourse and in addition, Amorello does not have to provide any details of the project to the Governor!

I say "Stop the Insanity."

14 billion dollars, leaks, falling tons of cement, corruption, bribery, sub-par work, A doesn't know what B is doing and C doesn't have the right to know even though C is in charge of A and B and NOW, we have this poor deceased woman.

I have no doubt that Governor Romney will indeed remove Amorello from his position and I believe the Big Dig will now be under a scrutiny never before seen in this state. However, it won't bring back Milena. I wonder if either of our esteemed Senators will be attending her funeral?

More On The Frisch Fry

I posted about that loonbat professor in Az the other day and American Spectator has picked up the story broken by Protein Wisdom and Blackfive. Now that she no longer has a semi-real job she is free to join up with Code-Pink and Cindy Sheehan and play victim of the vast right wing conspiracies. If you have followed the links you would have found a very strange, deplorable feminist. Woman is too good a word to use, true women aren't feminists they recognize men and women have a role in society and that it varies. I hope women don't let the left damage them as severely as it has damaged the black community.
Heck, I am southern and have a strong mom and both grandmothers and most of my aunts are strong women and I was taught to respect them and my sister and cousins. They worked right along side us men and boys making the farm work, we all had different jobs that meshed like a machine to keep us through the winter months. We all picked except a couple ladies that prepared the kitchen for the canning or freezing process to come. This took place in the morning and the afternoon was spent on the porch shocking corn and peas, snapping beans and eating watermelon as it was sent to the kitchen for processing. I am only a generation away from a small working farm and my generation is the last to be able to say that, I remember finally getting indoor plumbing in the farmhouse. My grandparents were not rich but they owned their land and it provided for them and their family, in many respects they were wealthy beyond belief as rocks in their community and pedestals to build generations of families on. There is something about farmlife that does that and in my opinion is reason families are fleeing to more rural settings away from the degenerative nature of city life. I couldn't handle it, I walk out of my house to the smell of flowers and horses and the sounds of birds and a rooster or two in the morning, not horns and the commotion of the city.
The world of concrete canyons, artificial light, sound and stink does not even entertain my thoughts except with its frivolity. How a person could live in a big city and maintain any sense on sanity is beyond my redneck thinking, maybe thats why my blogger compatriot goes by Mad Hatter, Boston blues?
Speaking of Boston, it seems a portion of the fattest "pork" project of all time, "The Big Dig" has collapsed killing a person. It's Ted Kennedy's and John Kerry's fault for supporting such an insane project I am being fasecious here but thats the sort of extrapolation the loonbats go to fault President Bush.

PS: There is a whole world of difference in chasing snakes, turtles and fishin' holes to chasing false villians or worse on a video screen, a living world as compared to a dead one.

Frishing Trolls

Comment moderation has been activated so those that post to just get a rise out of me or a reader nolonger will be able to see their text. Going around an IP ban only shows how incredibly rude a person can be and hardly makes them any more welcome than before. I really don't like having to moderate my comment section but circumstances override my desires at times as other means have proven to be ineffectual. Parklife, a moonbat, and I have had some fun conversations, it's(won't admit sex) a proud moonbat and PL is semi respectful, I'm not, not of people that hide who and what they are and snipe from the dark especially when they copy large portions of my blog for inane ridicule, so childish and feminist. PL is not the reason for moderation being installed, though It knows..
So anyway, friendly commentors can post in peace without worry about attack from frisching trolls and I will post them as soon as possible, in the evenings, donot expect a daytime or latenight post to show till around 6:00 pm pac., weekends will be sporadic. I hope some of my old friends will return to posting now that this safeguard is in place.
Meanwhile, I got to hit the links sunday for a fun round with a retired couple obviously republicans as their first words learning I was from Al. were about "Katrina" and how well Al. and Mi. are getting work done and New Orleans is still crying. Their son tried to go help and was turned away, he's a builder but not local. Enough of that, I feel my game coming back into shape quickly and I am considering becoming a 'country club' conservative', as much as I like to play I would save huge money by joining. This is a beautiful course full of mature trees invading fairways and approaches, subtle small greens with a meandering creek adding nuance to many holes. I love the game with its extreme difficulty and many life lessons about patience and working through failure. In many ways it incapsulates the Marine slogan of "Adapt, Improvise, Overcome " in your adventure against the course and the course always wins as you can only better yourself against it. It is a solo treck, sometimes with a partner, with only your ability achieving a result, great or dreadful.. Much has been written about man's endeavour with the golf ball and only an addicted golfer could try to explain and only be understood by those also afflicted among us.May, fairways, greens and many birds and eagles grace your journey. I have always said, much can be learned of your fellow man in eighteen holes, more on golf course behaviour and how to interpret it later.

It is a sign you are growing older and wiser when summer starts to become your least favorite month as temperatures soar and yard work increases. I love keeping a sharp lawn and gardens but when it gets hot it loses its charm and becomes another days labor.

Did you know that just over the past 11 quarters, dating back to the June 2003 Bush tax cuts, America has increased the size of its entire economy by 20 percent? In less than three years, the U.S. economic pie has expanded by $2.2 trillion, an output add-on that is roughly the same size as the total Chinese economy, and much larger than the total economic size of nations like India, Mexico, Ireland and Belgium.

This is an extraordinary fact, although you may be reading it here first. Most in the mainstream media would rather tout the faults of American capitalism than sing its praises. And of course, the media will almost always discuss supply-side tax cuts in negative terms, such as big budget deficits and static revenue losses. But here's another suppressed fact: Since the 2003 tax cuts, tax-revenue collections from the expanding economy have been surging at double-digit rates, while the deficit is constantly being revised downward.

Will the MSM report this above the fold in blaring font, not likely as it goes askew to their agenda.

One of my favorite milblogs, Blackfive , brings an illuminating bit of info on the loonbats in this case of the vampire variety, a college psych prof none the less , threatening a two year old. You won't believe some of the garbage posted by this slime, well, I take that back, the loonbats will.

We all know that lefty trolls can be a real inconvenience at times, but a very special troll named Deborah Frisch has taken trolling down a very dark road. Jeff Goldstein is the very insightful conservative blogger who writes at Protein Wisdom and Dr. Frisch (did I mention she's a psych[o] professor at the University of Arizona?) has repeatedly and quite disturbing levied DEATH THREATS against Jeff's 2 year old child.

I post this in the hopes that any readers in the law enforcement community or at the University of Arizona will take the opportunity to click on over and see if they can be of assistance. Much like Robert Fisk of "fisking" fame, Frisch ought to become her own unique internet verb for a deranged troll/cyber stalker. Please don't hesitate to leave your submissions in the comments.

I comment fairly often on the lack of good help and apprentices coming into the trades, I post not as a union schill but as an American Craftsman. knowng that those who have my skills are diminishing not growing. Union glasswork is hard work but easy mentally, I have no beef with them, raising major curtain walls is serious work, been there done that,including layout work. I prefer doing residential work for high dollar clients, making there custum bath, kitchen, bar or whatever become a reality. People will always need glass and we are at the forefront in residential design. I can be reached through email if you have questions.

Family Reunions

I think they are a great thing that have lost much in the last few decades. My paternal family has held them annually for as long as I can remember and it is always a fun time. We are not a recent immigrant family, meaning last 200 years, my family arrived in 1623 and has much native blood though the name is intact as is the family house in Boston, a State landmark and historic site. My sirname is a bit unusual so it is fairly easy to track unlike a Williams or Smith so far we have gone back to the days of William Wallace and have a family crest from Scotland, a reason for my penname, personal security. Sadly the native geneology is impossible to complete at this time.
My college student apprentice recently told me that I have a better grasp of history than his professor and that I should teach it after a discussion on Palistinian and Israeli politics. This is not to brag at all because it disturbs me greatly that a college student in poli sci would express this to me, a novice though a political and historicall junky.Has our collegiate system fallen that far behind? Yeah, I lean right politically but that has little to do with loving history, all sides of it. I had the benefit of truelly brilliant history professors and from my experience in open forums a vast majority were not so fortunate.
How do we correct this? We spend an average of a quarter million dollars a public school classroom a year, thats a lot of money. I support vouchers that would allow parents to draw their alottment of that $10,000 avg per pupil and put it into private education if they desire. Unions should be outlawed in public service on the taxpayer dime especially teachers unions because thet could care less about education of the kids, they are more concerned about their socialist welfare/pensions. That point is directed at the unions not individual teachers as my father was a teacher and continues to be mine even after his passing.

As a long time subscriber to Townhall and a Salem listener I am thrilled and excited about having a major conservative voice. MoveOn, Kos, Atrios, Puffington, etal are fixing to eat dust.

The Mexican Vote

I have semi payed attention as it does portend on our relationship with our southern neighbor. It appears after the second official count that Calderon, the conservative candidate has won by a slim margin of a few hundred thousand votes, about .5% of the vote, and the lefty candidate has vowed street protests if the vote does not go his way, so typical, its become hysterical. I can't blame the people so much as the politicians in Mexico as a history of corruption runs very deep. It is the primary reason they seek to come here, Mexico is a very rich country when it comes to natural resources and its people should be able to prosper easily. It has two extrordinarily beautiful long coastlines, oil, arable land, a vibrant workforce and all it needs is leadership. Mexico does not need socialism it needs real progress which will greatly reduce the immgrant flow here. Another positive side affect could be the voluntary return of many to help build Mexico as support for Calderon ran high among the illegal community as polls reported about 60%.
The real answer to fixing the illegal immigration problem comes with helping Mexico build a vibrant economy, it has the fuel. Walls and guest worker programs on this side don't help fix that side and the root cause of wanting to come here and that is decent paying jobs. I am a supporter of free trade and open markets and I tell all young folks I know, become a tradesman, learn a trade. It will take as good of care of you as you take of it. Working in California for about a decade now as a contractor, I have seen Mexican and Eastern European immigrants largely filling the slots, no american youth and that is sad.
Even when I started my trade at minimum wage as a complete rookie I did what I was expected to do and more, I wanted raises and I got them. I now get to work for some of the wealthiest people in California. This is not to brag, it is to make the point that a little actual toil and perseverence pays off , and the Mexican people know that far better than much of our native population, regardless of race.
We have become far to spoiled and complacent.

Felt Like a Monday

A midweek day off is always wierd, it messes with your internal sense of time, at least mine anyway. I have not used an alarm clock in years, even when needing to arise ahead of schedule. The loonbats on the left never cease to amaze and entertain me, I just can't take them seriously anymore their arguments are so detached from reality. I have been around the block and been dragged through a few briar patches in the process and never claimed victimhood nor whined about it, that's life. I love these liberals that grew up with a silverspoon and claim to know how to better run my life, screw them, if I wanted euro-style society I'd move there, I don't. If they want to try and play word games, I'm game.

A good read on Mexico's election, it seems the left has the same tactics as here.

MEXICO CITY--Felipe Calderón of the National Action Party hasn't any doubt that he won Sunday's presidential election, and he says that his adversary, Andres Manuel López Obrador of the Democratic Revolutionary Party (PRD), knows it, too. In an interview with The Wall Street Journal at his campaign headquarters yesterday, Mr. Calderón appeared rested and confident. "I'm not going to get into personalities," he told me, "but all the parties have copies of the tally sheets showing the voting, and the PRD knows that it lost."
Mr. Calderón's numbers jibe with those of Mexico's Federal Electoral Institute (IFE) and it seems almost certain that he won. But as we go to press, an official announcement has not yet been made. A preliminary ruling is scheduled for today, with the official decision to come on Friday. And even then the country may be in for weeks of the Mexican equivalent of challenges to hanging chads.
The big victory in this race goes to the IFE in carrying out a spectacularly clean, transparent and well-organized election. If institutions matter to development, as Nobel laureate Douglass North contends, then Mexico is well on the way to progress. Mr. Calderón echoed the sentiments of millions of Mexicans when he told me yesterday that watching the electoral process made him "proud to be a Mexican." Mexico's next test will be how it stands up to Mr. López Obrador's threat to call street protests if the IFE decision goes against him.

Newt Gingrich would also make a superb VP with his message. It looks like on the liberal side as being all Hillary if the loonbats don't go Feingold or desert to third parties like the Peace and Freedom Party of CodePink and Cindy Sheehan.
