Pro Mitt Romney Blogger Roundup

If you are liking what you hear from and about Mitt Romney for President, I want to hear from you. I have heard from Texans for Mitt and Iowans for Romney. My coblogger, when able, works for the GOP in Boston and is trying to get on the campaign staff, at least I remember something to that effect. We need to coalesce an alliance, I know Rick in Texas has a very good start on that very thing, a Mitt Romney alliance of blogs. I want to hear from you by comment or email. The best man for the co ticket is Rick Santorum another staunch conservative with a huge national following.

We lost because some got beholden to money and power and abandoned what got them elected in the first place, disgracing the 'clean' party. Hugh Hewitt sums it up best and Rush Limbaugh agreed by reading it in his monologue. Yeah, Hugh's head is about to explode but that's ok, he deserves it.

As cooler heads sort through the returns, they will see not a Democratic wave but a long series of bitter fights most of which were lost by very thin margins, the sort of margin that could have been overcome had there been greater purpose and energy arrayed on the GOP's side. The country did not fundamentally change from 2004, but the Republicans had to defend very difficult terrain in very adverse circumstances. Step by step over the past two years the GOP painted themselves into a corner from which there was no escape. Congressional leadership time and time again took the easy way out and declared truces with Democrats over issues, which ought not to have been compromised. The easy way led to Tuesday's result.

When we stand up for our principles we win, Rick was an anomaly of an off year, many of the rest probably deserved to get booted. America is center right and respects solid leadership in Congress, what will Speaker Nancy bring to the table? We shall see and get another chance in two years. Championship teams don't whine when they lose, they work harder, develope new strategy, study film. Raum Emmanuel did just that for the DNC and got some conservative Democrats elected, guaranteed to be a thorn in their leadership's side.

The GOP will choose much needed new leadership this week, Mike Pence in the House and Tom Coburn in the Senate are my picks. Mitch McConnel would have to choose between that and the Supreme Court. Tom is just the cudgel the GOP needs at this time that Rick would have been if Pa weren't overcome by the Old Media and the Washington 'insiders'.

McCain is done as is Kerry, as is Bill Frist and wannabee George Allen. Jim Webb is an old school Scoop Jackson Dem, well qualified and will be a anti-liberal thorn.
