Zionism is Judaism

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad had the audacity to declare, after his 'Israel-must-be-wiped-off-of-the-map' hatefest and Holocaust denial, that he is a friend to the Jewish People. This is a common tactic of anti-semites, to declare 'Death to the Zionists- but we love Jews'. They try to separate the Jewish People from their state and try to convince the world that their hatred for Israel doesn't mean that they hate the Jews. Actually, as long as the Jews live like good dhimmis in the exile, Ahmadinejad along with his Islamofascist and liberal cronies adore the Jews.

This is nonsense. Judaism and Zionism cannot be separated. Zionism did not start in the 1800s and was not founded in Eastern Europe or in Basel. Zionism was founded by the rivers of Babylon, when the Jews wept bitterly over their exile and vowed 'if I forget thee O Jerusalem, may my right hand lose its cunning!' Herzl's book, the Jewish State, did not invent the idea of Jewish national revival; 3 times a day, Jews beseech G-d 'that our eyes may behold Your return to Zion in mercy'. Herzl was simply able to convey this idea in practical terms, however, the Jewish dream to one day live again as a free nation in Israel has existed since the beginning of the accursed exile, by Nebuchadnezzar and the Babylonian army.

Judaism in exile is a soul with no body. In exile, we must constantly be hyphenated Jews, never free or able to simply be what we were meant to be- Jews, plain and simply Jews. We could never assimilate completely and become Germans, Frenchman and Americans 'of the Mosaic persuasion'. The constant fear of being taunted as a 'Zhid', 'Kike' or 'Jude' always lingered at the back of our minds. In exile, we exist on the peripheries of history, always passive and subjected to the whims of our gentile overlords. That is why a Jew in exile is never complete, always compartmentalized. There is no Torah like the Torah of the Land of Israel And no wisdom like the wisdom of the Land of Israel. (Sifri, Ekev) Only in the Holy Land, the Land of our forefathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, can a Jew truly be a Jew.

Why, after being freed from Egyptian slavery, did the Jews need to ascend to the Land of Canaan? Couldn't they have simply kept the Torah in the land of Goshen among the Egyptians? No, a Jew in exile is never complete, never able to serve his G-d fully, always at the command of his gentile ruler. Instead of being marginal, the Jew in the Jewish State is at the center of history, not passive to what is around him but assertive of his role and destiny.

In Israel, a Jew doesn't have to worry whether his children will intermarry or whether or not he will have Jewish grandchildren. We don't have to worry about our children learning Christmas carols in school or about 'being different'. Israel is where a Jew belongs, his homeland, his inheritance. G-d measured all the lands of the earth and found that the most fitting land for the People of Israel is the Land of Israel. (Talmud Yerushalmi Nedarim) The Land was created for us! During our long exile, the Land never blossomed for our oppressors, never brought fruit for its conquerors, those who drove its children out. Only when the Jews returned did the desert blossom, did the barren land turn green. This Land was meant for us and only for us, not for any foreign nation or Pseudo-people who seek to separate us from it. G-d said: The Land is Mine, and the People of Israel is Mine. I will give My Land to My People (Tanchumah, Bamidbar 34). His people! His land!

An anti-semite can pretend to oppose only Zionism while like Jews but we know better than that. Zionism is the most basic expression of the Jewish soul's desire to return to the land of its forebearers, the land in which its ancestors lived, worshipped, built and unfortunately were exiled. There are many beautiful lands in which the Jews have found themselves in the course of their millenia of wandering but we fit in none of them. We were always different, worshipped differently, spoke differently, dressed differently. A Jewish community can exist in the exile aval ze shelanu, but this, the Land of Israel, is truly ours and we will never again be separated from it.

Al Qaeda In Iraq: Updated

One of the favorite moonbat talking points is that Saddam had nothing to do with 9/11, and that's true at least not direct involvement. He did have ties to AQ and there is alot of evidence of AQ working in the Sunni areas well prior to the war spreading their propaganda and building support, they also had connections within Saddam's Baath leadership.
Read this important update from TAT.

Update: Bill Roggio, writing for the Long War Journal in Iraq, reports that two of AQ's top leaders have been sent to meet satan along with several of their minions. We have killed almost 20,000 terrorists in Iraq and captured and wounded many more to die in their rat holes.

The Death Of The Grown Up

A couple ladies sit down to discuss it, Diana West and Michelle Malkin on Diana's new book.

Murtha To Testify In Haditha Marine Slander Case

It serves him right after he accused them of war crimes on the House floor long before the evidence was in, as usual Michelle and her team at Hot Air are all over it.

Interesting: Updated

Picture from OpFor

Instapundit pointed me to this: "Silence in Syria, Panic in Iran"

Update: Iran has been bragging that it has developed its own jet fighter and the means to produce it, well it looks like they have developed the means to copy our 50 year old F-5 as Reuben Johnson reports at the Weekly Standard. Heck, we're up to F-117 and Israeli jets struck deep in Syria unknown to their Russian made radar technology, the same stuff Iran uses, Ha.
I am also seeing reports of rifts between the Taliban tribes and AQ in Pakistan and Afganistan tribal regions, if true, that is a major coup for Coalition Forces. Roy links to the Internet Anthropologist, a fascinating site I highly recommend taking a scroll through.

Why Al Gore Won't Run: Updated

Update: More from the American Thinker, and here.
Captain America sent this cool photoshop along.

It is actually pretty obvious, he would have to defend his science fiction movie and related carbon credit ponzi schemes. It is going to get blown away pretty soon as more and more evidence comes out and Al is left out on his chicken little perch. Heck the man refuses to debate anybody as it is now.
Here is an interesting study from USC of all places, that looks at warming and CO2 and the ocean's currents that are the true drivers of the climate.

Carbon dioxide did not cause the end of the last ice age, a new study in Science suggests, contrary to past inferences from ice core records.
“There has been this continual reference to the correspondence between CO2 and climate change as reflected in ice core records as justification for the role of CO2 in climate change,” said USC geologist Lowell Stott, lead author of the study, slated for advance online publication Sept. 27 in Science Express.
“You can no longer argue that CO2 alone caused the end of the ice ages.”
Deep-sea temperatures warmed about 1,300 years before the tropical surface ocean and well before the rise in atmospheric CO2, the study found. The finding suggests the rise in greenhouse gas was likely a result of warming and may have accelerated the meltdown – but was not its main cause.
The study does not question the fact that CO2 plays a key role in climate.

I'll Never Drink Miller Beers Again

I don't anyway but especially not after their sponsorship of the Folsom St. Fair with is a celebration of the most disgusting hedonistic counter-culture practices held in San Francisco. To make matters even worse the organizers desecrated "The Last Supper" painting with an advertising poster pictured above. Michelle has more details.

When last I wrote about Miller Beer, the company was cluelessly sponsoring illegal alien protests and spinning furiously. Doesn’t look like they learned to stay away from radical politics. Miller went ahead and sponsored the “Folsom Street Fair” in San Francisco…billed as the “world’s largest leather event.”

Here’s the Catholic-denigrating promotional poster for the Miller-backed fair via CNSNews.com, depicting the Last Supper as a gathering of S&M enthusiasts:

This is another part of the Democrat base.
Oh what has happened to the City on the Bay? My parents met there when The Officer's Club was the place to go, years before the hippies, sexual deviants and homeless took over. The Military is nolonger welcome and I won't take Mom there now when she visits.

Skeletons, Hsus And Dirty Laundry

Hillary has another fundraising ethics mess on her hands now unrelated to Hsu, it seems 4 of her top advisor/managers were connected to the Soros sponsored ACT, Americans Coming Together, that was recently foung guilty of campaign finance laws.(Hattip: Bryan at HotAir)

Officials of a defunct pro-Democratic group that was hit with a near-record campaign-finance fine last month hold strong ties to Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's presidential campaign, documents show.

At least four persons who worked for the America Coming Together (ACT) fundraising group, which the Federal Election Commission recently fined $775,000, work directly for the Clinton campaign or hold top positions with consulting firms hired by it.

In addition, the group's former president, longtime Clinton aide Harold Ickes, has been identified as a volunteer adviser to the Clinton campaign. In FEC filings, the campaign listed a debt to Mr. Ickes of more than $2,000 for travel-related costs.

Spendaholic Congress

The Democrats are up to their old tricks now that they are back in power, at least we have the RSC and folks like Rep. John Campbell R. Ca. and his Green Eye Shade blog to keep the rest of us informed.

I am so disappointed, I thought we were promised the clearest most ethical Congress ever. They must like having an 11% approval rating.

Midweek Reads: Updated

Amir Taheri has several interesting articles posted at Benador Associates, if you are interested in honest analysis of Middle Eastern news this is one of the best places to go. This one in particular caught my eye: How is the enemy doing,? Well go read up if you want to know.

The facts on the ground are that the two chief enemies of the new Iraq - the groups wearing the al Qaeda label and the Iran-backed Shiite militias - are not doing well. Indeed, one might say that both have already lost their bids for power and, the continued killings notwithstanding, are in the process of marginalization. The only way they could make a comeback is if Congress decides to legislate a victory for them.

There are many good reads there so take your time and mark it as a favorite.

Uodate: Jeff Emanuel is on the front lines reporting as he sees it.

Update: Mike Yon is back in Iraq after a needed break,I am sure. Meanwhile he has this posted about the General Lee, a now immortalized Stryker, thanks to Mike's reporting and his "Superman" dispatch. Don't forget to stop by Bill Ardolino's, Michael Totten's, and Bill Roggio's.

More Than Skeletons In Hillary's Closet

Its looking like she has alot of dirty Hsu's in there as well, this guy is the Democrat's 'Abramoff'. Bryan Preston has a run down of the latest posted at Hot Air. Imagine the outrage in the press if he was connected to the GOP, heck, there was more coverage of Sen. Craig's tappy toes than this. Wouldn't it be wild if Hillary had to withdraw from the race under a Senate ethics investigation?

Who/What Is Mahmoud Ahmadinejad? Bumped

Amile Imani writing for the American Thinker has an important must read posted today examining that question. He is not unhinged but totally hinged to his extremist view of Shia Islam.

There is nothing really "unhinged" about Ahamadinejad's thinking, statements and actions. They are internally consistent. He is simply a fanatic who is wedded to an extremely dangerous exclusionary system of belief. Humanity must learn that dismissing him as alunatic will result in great suffering, as it did with Hitler.

Tragically, Ahmadinejad is the embodiment of several million people who are hinged exactly like him and who are willing to give their lives, and take with them as many lives as required in the service of their belief. In this age of Weapons of Mass Destruction a man with huge sums of petrodollars can serve as the catalyst of total annihilation.
Prudence would err on the side of being an alarmist than a complacent dismissive.

Ahmadinejad and his ilk are not interested in any negotiation, any compromise or any live-and-let-live final solution. They are determined to be the soldiers of Mahdi come-what-may. They have no problem with the total destruction of the world. They are headed for a life of eternal bliss in Allah's paradise. They hardly care, even rejoice, if the rest of humanity is subjected to a tragic death in the nuclear, biological and chemical wasteland of planet earth.
Humanity cannot afford and must not ignore the emergence of the final threat to its very existence on this planet.

Read the whole article, Imani lays it out very clearly.

Folks we have to take this guy very seriously!

AQ Wants To Kill Our Children: Updated With Related Links

This article by Marc Sheppard is very disturbing, schools have been a favorite targets of Islamic terrorists for years and busses are one of their main weapons, Beslan is just one of hundreds of examples. There have been dry runs recently, and thefts of school busses and bus radios. Parents is your school district safe and prepared?!?

While Democrats prepare witless campaign slogans blaming Republicans for millions of children not protected by health insurance, al Qaeda's blatant threat to exterminate 2 million American kids remains unheeded. And it will likely continue to be, notwithstanding mounting evidence that there exists no peril on Earth our young need greater protection from today than merciless jihadist monsters.

Not lack of a national insurance plan. Not global warming. Not racial or cultural disparities. Not even the Patriot Act, any of its overplayed incursions into individual liberties, or any of the other countless silly and diaphanous liberal causes célèbres, but rather that which would abruptly and savagely end their innocent short lives.

This insightful piece by David Broder on why Hillary is the Democrat's nominee and the actual influence of the nutroots on the Party itself is a must read for fellow Republicans. The Center Holds sway in the party not the far left moonbats.(Hattip: The Corner)

Now it’s evident that if you want to understand the future of the Democratic Party you can learn almost nothing from the bloggers, billionaires and activists on the left who make up the “netroots.” You can learn most of what you need to know by paying attention to two different groups — high school educated women in the Midwest, and the old Clinton establishment in Washington.

Link To Michelle Malkin !!!!!!!!!!

Just because, grin, we love her!

From her crew at HotAir.

Watch "The War" On PBS

I missed the first installment but will watch the rest of the series, it is well done and honest, imagine if we were able to unite like that again behind an effort against our enemy. I had two Uncles involved and have Mom's stories, one wearing Silver and Bronze and Purple in his grave. He survived the beaches of Dday and the march to Berlin and helped liberate the death camps of Nazi Germany, he saw the horror. He refused to talk about it because of the sheer brutality of what he saw.
He went on to work for NASA and the Apollo Project in Huntsville, quite a treat for a fascinated kid to get very guided tours during the Apollo Project, no wonder I like Star Trek, etc, LOL. I have sat in an Apollo Space Module that had been in space, pretty cool.
Can we bring it back together under our Constitution? I don't think, I know we can! I don't think the Iranian puppet knows who he messing with, setting fire to the so called "paper tiger's tail", heh.

In Case You Missed It: Updated

Columbia's Lee Bollinger really ripped into Ahmadinenutjob, good on him and the nutjob made a fool of himself with a rambling nearly incoherent speech and striking out on the fast balls just as he did in the 60 Minutes interview.
Here is Bollingers introductory speech, video courtesy of HotAir.

Nutjob's response courtesy of Little Green Footballs

Yea you are superior Ahmadinejad, a superior piece of slimy turkey buzzard droppings.
Update: Hugh Hewitt thinks Bollinger got punked and here
A couple reactions at the American Thinker I like this bit.

I'm sitting in my living room forcing myself to listen to the eerily calm, innocent-sounding - nearly genteel - ravings of a dastardly monster, as he explains from an American University podium that the historicity of the Holocaust should be examined from different perspectives. He is informing the students and faculty members that there is no such thing as "absolute truth," only "perspectives on the truth." He asserts than not even in the science of physics is there "perfect truth."

Gold Country: Downieville

The local grocer has been in business since 1900 and is classic gold country fireproof architecture, 3 foot thick stone walls and roof, built in 1852, it was a foundry, metal works shop prior to the grocery. Some of the richest placer gold strikes of the rush were within blocks of here, $300 bucks a pan at $17 an ounce, massive nuggets were pulled from local diggings.

It was drizzling rain so Mom had a jacket over her head as she chatted with the Museum curator located in the oldest building in town, neat little museum and informative host. He keyed me to a couple new spots to visit.
Looking up Main street, of course that is a saloon on the corner.
Looking down Main street from the museum.
The Church of the Immaculate Conception, it has some nice stained glass windows that I will get a better look at and pictures in the future.
This is where the bad guys wound up, the gallows, see plaque below for the history.

The Mahdi on 60 Minutes

I watched it and there were no softball questions from Pelley, he was pitching Randy Johnson fast hardballs, in fact the Mahdi complained that he was being interogated CIA style. He ducked and dodged and repeated MoveOn talking points, What a joke, smiles and lies through his teeth to the infidel, the new darling of the moonbats.
I also see that the Kos kidz are having a lovefest for him.(hattip:LGF)

Of course Allah Pundit at HotAir is all over it and has the transcript linked.

Mitt Romney Rising

Mitt easily won the Michigan Mackinak straw poll at the GOP convention there. Fred and Rudy flopped, John came in second and Ron Paul beat Fred and all spoke to the convention, the biggest gathering of GOP activists before the early primary.

Democrat's Hsu Fits

It looks like this scandle is vast and growing as the rightosphere has started digging in. Suitably Flip has the vast network laid out. He also asks the big questions."1) where is Hsu - a convicted con man and fugitive with no documented ability to turn a legitimate buck - getting these gobs of money, and 2) why is he squandering it on all these Democrats?"

HotAir has more including some more shady fund raising by Hillary.

Captain Ed has some more, and notes that Hsu openly gave to prominent Ca politicians including our Attorney General, no wonder they didn't go after him.

Must Read Of The Week

The Death of a Soldier, The Life of a Patriot.

What is a patriot? What is a hero? We throw these words around a lot these days and we bestow them on those who most often don’t come close to warranting the honor. From athletes to artists, dissenters to politicians and movie stars, our society holds some of the most undeserving people in high esteem.

So, what is a patriot? Who really should be designated a hero?

Patriot: A person who loves, supports and defends his or her country and its interests with devotion. – Dictionary.com

Hero: A man of distinguished courage or ability, admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities. – Dictionary.com

Read it all, I couldn't say it any better so I won't try.

How Does It Feel MoveOn Moonbats?

The Senate has voted 72-25 to condemn the MoveOn ad attacking Gen. Petreaus and 70-27 to not cut off funding to the War effort. How does it feel after attending all those anti-war protests and maxing out your credit cards to donate to MoveOn and elect the Democrats? All that hard work down the drain, gosh it's got to smart a bit.
No Karl Rove frog marches, no Fitzmas, no impeachment of Chimpy Bushitler, heck you can't even pull off a protest march without looking like a bunch of stinky communist clowns. This Kos Diarist has the right idea, go after the Democrats who abandoned you, that's a great idea.(Hattip: Red State)oh cry me a river.

The simple fact is that we were just stomped on and thrown under the bus. Over 20 Democrats agreed with a unified republican caucus that you and I and 3.2 million MoveOn members are dirty scumbags for questioning a sock-puppet of a general that spouted lie after propagandistic lie. Repeating: our friends just punched us in the gut and kicked us in the nuts.

Hillary Could And Can Win

Ronald Reagan's campaign manager in '84, Ed Rollins thinks so if the GOP rolls over and lets her. He has penned an insightful article from years as a GOP insider and we should listen to him and Newt Gingrich when he says going after her negatives won't be enough to beat her. We have to have the right ideas and candidate whether it is Mitt, Rudy or Fred. The way Ed puts it its a poker match and she's holding three aces and we haven't even looked at our cards and need to draw a straight.

I won't deal with who is going to be the Rep nominee. It is a race that is extremely close and a few capable candidates have real chances of being the nominee. But in view of the history Hillary Clinton is the strongest candidate in years and is not only going to be the democratic nominee; she can be elected President. I am not happy about that, but those are the facts.

And Republicans and conservatives better wake up to those facts. Underestimating her appeal or her campaign team and over focusing on her negatives, is not smart. I repeat she can win and we better start working on ways to beat her. The first Republican President, I worked for instructed me on all that matters in Presidential elections, the Electoral College. That man, Richard Nixon, always kept a yellow pad somewhere in or on his desk with two columns listed on it. In one column were states he thought he could win. The other column listed states he thought he could lose. He looked at it daily and discussed it with whoever was around him. No domestic decision was ever made that he didn't look at those states and figure out which ones might be affected by his presidential actions. He would move them around from time to time but he always made sure at least 270 electoral votes were in his win column.

How Bloggers Broke The MSM Stranglehold

A fairly long but interesting read by Ed Driscoll on the rise of the blogospere and the collapse of "dead tree" journalism and the Big Three news outlets.
Indeed the Pamphleteers of old would be proud.

How clueless? In 2004, Jonathan Klein, the former executive vice president of CBS News, described blogging as “a guy sitting in his living room in his pajamas writing.” Last May, Time-Warner CEO Richard Parsons was quoted as saying, “The Googles of the world, they are the Custer of the modern world. We are the Sioux nation. They will lose this war if they go to war. The notion that the new kids on the block have taken over is a false notion.”

Just how did the mainstream media (“MSM”) become so monolithic and unresponsive in the first place? And how is the rise of “Weblogs” helping to establish a new, more “fair and balanced” form of journalism?

Thank You !!!

I have met and crosslinked with so many wonderful folks from America and around the globe the last few weeks it is hard to thank everyone personally. A very special Thank You to the Milboggers that keep us informed, despite the MSM's direct desire to betray them as was evidenced in the MoveOn ad directed at Gen. Petraeus. I bet we are more united than the Democrats and their base loonbats would want to ever admit and they keep giving us ammo so lets use it !
Mount up, we have a herd to round up, the work is tough and thankless but it needs to be done, we can't sit on our asses and hope someone else does it for us! We might not like the results if we do.
Mitt Romney/Duncan Hunter '08 for a Secure and Prosperous America!

Mercy to the Cruel

War is approaching. Israel is at a crucial stage. Iran's dictator, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, may his name be accursed, has promises a devastating 'final response' to Israel and the US on October 12th, 'al-Quds' Day.
From Arutz-7:

Supporters of the Zionist regime will receive their response during the world Quds Day's rallies,” Iranian government spokesman Gholam-Hossein Elham said at a weekly press conference Wednesday.

According to the state-controlled Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), Elham was describing Iran's planned response for US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice's visit “to the occupied Palestine [sic].”

"The US loses all opportunities to cooperate with regional and other world states by trying to support a regime (the Zionist regime) which is now at its weakest political and social position," Elham said. "Supporters of the Zionist regime will definitely receive the final response for their support on Quds day."

Quds Day is held each year on the last Friday of the Islamic month of Ramadan. It was instituted in 1979, following the Islamic revolution by Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khomeini.

“I ask all the Muslims of the world and the Muslim governments to join together to sever the hand of this usurper and its supporters,” Khomeini said when proposing the day. “I call on all the Muslims of the world to select as Quds Day the last Friday in the holy month of Ramadan - which is itself a determining period and can also be the determiner of the Palestinian people’s fate - and through a ceremony demonstrating the solidarity of Muslims world-wide, announce their support for the legitimate rights of the Muslim people. I ask G-d Almighty for the victory of the Muslims over the infidels.”

On Quds Day in 2000, Khomeini’s successor Khamenei called for Israel’s destruction, saying it is “the only way to solve the problems of the Middle East.”

Open Threats of War
One of Khamenei’s top advisers, Major General Yahya Rahim-Safavi, declared Tuesday that Iran would strike “in shortest possible time” in case of any strike on its nuclear facilities. He referred specifically to the army of suicide-bombers and child-soldiers active during the Iran-Iraq war. "The enemy will face strong armed forces especially the Basij [suicide-bombers and child soldiers] if it unleashed a military attack on Iran," he said. He claimed that the Basij army has 20 million members.

According to IRNA, “He said that the US has been entangled in a quagmire in Iraq and cannot easily survive.”

Khomeini proposed 'al-Quds' Day as a way of unifing the Muslims people and beseeching Allah for help. The only way for us to overcome Muslim unity is for us to join together as Jews, unify, and storm the gates of Heaven with our prayers. It is right before Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, and we have the power to change our destiny on that day. Whatever evil decrees the Hashem has written, chas ve'shalom for His people can be averted by simply returning to Him. Every harsh prophecy recorded in the books of the Prophets such as the War of Gog and Magog and the Chavlei HaMoshiach can be nullified with teshuvah and prayer. The Rabbis tell us that every Jew is responsible, areivim, for one another. The only way to defeat the aravim, Arabs, is for us to be areivim and to care and love one another. Reach out to your fellow Jew and bring him back to the Torah.
This war has already started. After all of the Qassams, attacks on Sderot, children hiding in bomb shelters and terrorist attacks, PM Olmert has finally declared Gaza to be 'an enemy entity'. Really! The Defense Minister presented information to his ministerial colleagues, showing that terrorists in Hamas-controlled Gaza have fired 700 Kassam rockets towards Sderot, the Negev and Ashkelon since the beginning of the year. He said that Arabs in Gaza have fired a total of some 4,000 since the year 2001, causing 14 deaths.

The Defense Minister feels there will ultimately be no choice other than to attack the terror infrastructures in Gaza, and "it appears that every passing day brings a broad military operation closer."

According to the UN's Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian affairs, all of Gaza's fuel, diesel, gasoline and natural gas come from Israel, which powers Gaza's power plant which produces 28.6% of Gaza electricity. How blind are Israel's leaders? Cut off Gaza's electricity, water, TV, radio and all supply sources until they give in. Israel's former Sephardic Chief Rabbi Mordechai Eliyahu already ruled that the proper Halakhic response to the Qassams is to carpet bomb Gaza. Rabbi Eliyahu shli"ta cited the biblical story of the Shechem massacre (Genesis 34) and Maimonides' commentary (Laws of Kings 9, 14) on the story as proof texts for his legal decision. According to Jewish war ethics, wrote Eliyahu, an entire city holds collective responsibility for the immoral behavior of its leaders. If the people of Gaza opposed the rockets, they would not have elected Hamas. In Gaza, the entire populace is responsible because they do nothing to stop the firing of Kassam rockets. The former chief rabbi also said it was forbidden to risk the lives of Jews in Sderot or the lives of IDF soldiers for fear of injuring or killing Palestinian noncombatants living in Gaza. He quoted Psalm 18:38"I will pursue my enemies and apprehend them and I will not desist until I have eradicated them."
If the IDF does go in to Gaza, it will probably stay there for a few months, disrupt the terrorist organizations and then leave. This is repeated every time Israel enters a hostile area. It happened during Operation Defensive Shield in 2002, Gaza in 2007 and the 1982 Lebanon War. Ultimately, there is no solution besides the annexation of Gaza, Judea and Samaria, the expulsion of the Arabs and Jewish settlements there. No country can tolerate such a hostile enemy squatting on territories that legitimately belong to it.
Every military strategist in the world knows that the easiest way to win a war is to conquer territories. Israel's generals, despite being some of the brightest, most highly decorated and advanced in the world, were raised on the idea of victory while retreating. That is why Israel failed so miserably in Lebanon last summer- Ehud Barak retreated from Lebanon, Sharon retreated from Gaza, Olmert wants to retreat from Judea and Samaria. Israel must be prepared to annex any territories that it conquers, to expel its population and to settle Jews on that land.

Inside the Bidwell Mansion

That is the biggest Southern Magnolia I have ever seen in front and I am from the South.

Gen. Bidwell's main office, it has a backdoor so workers would not have to disturb the Main house. The lighting is authentic to the original gas lighting and flash was not allowed so forgive the dimness of the pictures.
The third floor Ballroom, Annie Bidwell was highly reigious and prohibited dancing so the General put in a billiards table and alot of early California politics took place in this room. He was a Congressman and the town of Chico's founder, ran for Gov. a couple times and President once. The room is ringed with small bedrooms for overflow guests and the Gen.'s small private office.
The VIP suite with a walk through closet to the nursery since it was considered in bad taste to leave your bedroom not dressed in your day clothes.
The first indoor plumbing in California, it was one of the most modern houses of its time.
The main bedrooms each had a sink, for washing purposes.
The Library had a couple oddities.
An Edison talk-a-phone, one of the first recording devices, and still functionable. The wax cylinders used to record on are the can like objects.
A kerosene powered fan, a small flame worked a piston to turn the fan, it gets hot in this part of the valley.
The Parlor, with one beautiful piano.
Looking through the dining room into the parlor, the flags are true to early pictures.
The Kitchen, and I am sure the most modern of its time with indoor plumbing and gas lighting.
Life still wasn't easy, milk still had to be churned for the butter.

Al Qaeda And Its Sickening Brutality

Jeff Emanuel reporting from Samara, where he is imbedded with the Soldiers, tells of the capture of an IED/rape cell leader. The guy bragged about his AQ affiliation and gave graphic details of his cell's operations, beyond the IEDs, they randomly gang raped Iraqi women.

Like their hardline Islamist brethren in other nations – such as the Taliban in Afghanistan, and the Islamic Courts Union in Somalia, among others – the Islamic State of Iraq (or “ISI,” the name under which al Qaeda in Iraq has organized itself in this country) has built a reputation not only for committing acts of terrorism and brutality both against its members’ own countrymen and against the coalition, but also for being a proponent of the most medieval, fundamentalist interpretation – and enforcement – of what its leaders claim to be the laws of the Koran.

What Is A "Progressive"?

In a word, a socialist but read this interesting piece at the American Thinker by James Lewis anyway. He lays out what kind of person is a self-proclaimed progressive.

So what kind of person has to label himself "Progressive?" Obviously somebody who believes he (or she) understands real progress better than the rest of us. Because if you are a Progressive it implies that everybody else, let's face it, is a Regressive, or maybe just a Stagnant. It's a smirky, self-flattering way of saying you're a lot better than the rest.
So what kind of ego needs do you have to have to call yourself that? And what do you believe about others? In fact, Progressives must believe that other people are worse than they are; that only they can Save the Planet, or create Peace on Earth, or Solve Inequality, or whatever sin bedevils mankind.

Good One, The GOP Strikes And Hits A Homerun

From Burkean Reflectios

Mom Is Coming For A Visit !

With Mom in town, sightseeing and wine tasting are a must, so political blogging will be light for the next few days, instead expect 'Americana' as we tool around, with lots of pictures. We will take a few of the tours mentioned in my gold-country ramblings and enjoy some great wine and quality time together.
Update: We are going to go tour the Bidwell Mansion in Chico, tomorrow. John Bidwell launched our agricultural history in California, a botanist that struck gold, he was at the Coloma gold strike at Sutter's Mill in 1848 as Gen. Sutter's right hand man, and verified the strike.
This weekend we might head for the cabin, on the North-East side of Yosemite, passing through Truckee, North shore Tahoe, and down the Carson Valley to a little road and creek just out of Bridgeport . We will make some stops that I had wanted to in a previous Rambler.
The ghost town of Bodie: The "High Plains Drifter" was filmed about 20 miles South of Bodie at Mono lake and the town was used in a few scenes and was a very rich gold strike.. Stay tuned.....
After last week, I need a break in the mountains of California!
My new friends, this is the Americana side of the Barnyard, heck, I am restless and love photography, my archives are full of pictures and gold country history if you wish to take a stroll though the Barnyard, stop and have a glass of tea or ale, tea in the morn and ale in the eve.

A Wild And Crazy Week

Last week was a whirlwind of politics, protests and blogging. This is an open thread to comment on your observations, mine can be found below. To coin, O'Reilly, What Say You???

From Fallujah, Iraq: Updated With V ideo

Bill Ardolino is embedded with our soldiers in Fallujah and writes about the progress being made there and the way forward. He also has an interview with a local leader, it seems that there is a latent form of democracy that has a deep tradition at the local levels. The mukhtar, as they are called, reported that the people had fought us initially because AQ, and our left, told them that we were there to steal Iraq and its oil, now they see the Americans are there to help them get a better life and Iraq. This is an important dispatch from the front if you are interested what is going on at the local level, from there and not a newsroom in New York.
It ain't all peaceful yet but the people are tired of the violence and want help organizing to kill, arrest and keep out the thugs that had been brutalizing them. Village by village, neighborhood by neighborhood at the local level it is snowballing and they are kicking the bad guys out, slowly neighbors and friends will return to their homes, not as Sunni, Shia or Kurd but as Iraqis. Arabs are a very entreprenurial people, they like capitalism and trade, doing business and making money, its roots are deeper in their culture than Islam is. Michael Totten has written extensively about the Arab people as being some of the kindest, warmest people he has ever met, after having lived in Lebanon for years.
Yes, they wish our troops to go home eventually but for now they are invited guests helping them rebuild from Saddam's reign of terror, and lay the foundation for them to have a better life free of terror. Lets leave as honored guests having fulfilled our obligations to our hosts.

Mike Yon has a couple new stories up about the Diyala river valley mission and he's on patrol, here and here.

Jeff Emanuel tags along for a couple firefights while clearing Samarra.

Matt Sanchez has some video, about Iraq and its real martyrs like Shiek Sittar that was recently assasinated.

Lunchtime Must Reading: Updated

Bryan Preston, one of Michelle M.'s team, has posted his essay about the rallies Saturday and what he came away thinking. It is a well written and very thoughtful essay and I agree with every word he wrote.

These people represent the hardened anti-war left. They’re well organized by groups like ANSWER and World Can’t Wait that trace their lineages, their ideologies, their organizational skills and their funding straight back to Communist groups. They have the money muscle of George Soros behind them and they get favorable media coverage. Having slipped in among them for a little while Saturday and also during two previous marches, I can tell you that not only do they believe all the nonsense they say — everything from “America is a police state,” said with a straight face while standing on the steps of the Capitol that has crafted policies that these folks oppose, to believing that Bush and Cheney are actual war criminals — they enjoy saying it. The louder and more profane they get, the more they enjoy it. If they can make it a song, all the better. These people love what they’re doing: They love prophesying doom and they love hating me and you and most of their fellow Americans.

Heres the video that Bryan shot. Language alert, they're so cute and creative with their chants. Its worth watching since it is a Hot Air production.

Update: Mark Hemingway at NRO has more narrative and pictures from the moonbat parade/protest.I tell you what, they sure make it easier to make the case for conservatives to mount a comeback as this is the base the Democrats are pandering too.
Update: I almost forgot these two must reads from Hugh Hewitt, here and here where Mitt Romney blasts the UN and Achmandinajad (sp) of Iran. Both are must reads.

I Am Glad He Doesn't Like Me

This dude from San Fagcisco doesn't like me very much, (adult content), its quite the brain trust, not, the feeling is mutual. Hey, I found one of my favorite sites because this vile troll doesn't like her either, Amy Proctor, a soldier's wife, one lucky soldier. Troll wasted a good portion of his morning trying to post where he knows he is banned, here, poor guy, all 'methed' up and no where to go. What kind of person would name their site StinkyLovin??? A deranged person that's who.
I of course take this as the highest of compliments, a hate post from the left.
See his response to a now redacted photoshop of Code Pinko supporting the murder of US troops, he supported the photoshop message. As is evident in the comments to Eagles Vs. the turkey buzzards. This is one of the vilest trolls in the blogosphere., do not let this flea into your comment boards.

Democrat Candidates In Iowa Today:Updated

They are at a Sen. Harkin fundraiser and steak fry. I will update as they speak.

Barak Obama:"If we are going to get the things we want we need a change of politics" What change would that be Mr. Obama, socialism?

Bill Richardson: Though its tough to follow BO, Bill Richardson promises every moonbat dream talking point, from Kyoto, to pulling out the troops, to gay marriage, to universal healthcare.

Hillary: Ouch that voice hurts, I am sure she is going to try out left the other two. Barack got louder cheers at the start. Dang, my ears are starting to bleed. "The era of cowboy diplomacy is over", yea we will run away and hide. She hits on the facilities at Walter Reed, does she not know the facilities are maintained by gov't unions not the Military? Is that the kind of healthcare you plan for us Mamma Hillary? Labor union pandering, universal healthcare, "We have to reform our Gov't" Into what Hillary, a socialist republic? She's awful on the stump but she has a sizable contingent in the audience.

Chris Dodd: I am going to out left the other guys. He does talk more about his accomplisments and serving the Country than the others have. He's not just reading a littany of moonbat promises. He hits on some of them though its more of a pep talk for the Dems. "I am going to restore The Constitution" by what Sen., stripping us of our defense against terrorists? Collective bargaining a right, I don't think socialism is in the Constitution Sen.. Good crowd reaction.

John Edwards: The Silky Pony Pink Saphire got the biggest cheers yet. I am going to outleft the other guys with my two America's class warfare. He of the $500 haircuts and 28,000 square foot Mansion. More change talk, to socialism of course. I can add big to change better than the other guys, geez. Trial lawyer to take on the big corporations, in other words capitalism and the free market. He mandates healthcare, renounce the taxcuts to pay for it. Global warming hooey, I wonder how much CO2 this rally produced, there sure has been alot of hot air. Worst economy since the Great Depression, what? Pander, Pander Pander to the unions by guaranteeing them a job. Biggest cheers so far, he has Iowa in the caucus.

Joe Biden: This oughta be fun, Joe is always a hoot. He gets serious, talks about how to end the war, afraid it might land in their hands in '09 so lets run away now. The Democrats have put themselves into quite a pickle over the war thats for sure, retreat and be blamed for the chaos that will bring or stick it out for victory and anger their loser base. This is on Cspan and our enemies are watching as well. Wow Joe usually rambles forever.

One thing is for sure we will have a very stark difference in the candidates to choose from come next November.

FedEx Cup, Tiger Wins

Whatever you think of Tiger Woods, the guy can play the game of golf like no other. He put on a clinic the last two weeks and when he is playing this well he is unbeatable. Any fellow golfers out there, what did you think of this playoff format? I thought it was pretty good, it makes the Worlds best play a few tournaments in a row instead of just skipping around.

President Bush Meets With Milbloggers

That is so cool, and they were free to blog about the hour long meeting, Pres. Bush took questions and talked candidly, on the record, about the war. They got to take a few pictures, and were given a guided tour of the Oval office, what an honor. Bill Roggio and Bill Ardolino were there via video conference since they are embedded in Iraq, Bush teased them for not being in a suit, grin. The others there that I know have posted are:
NZ Bear at The Victory Caucus
Matt at Blackfive
John at Castle AArgh
Mohammed at Iraq The Model ,surprise, but awesome blog, I check there alot.
Mrs. GreyHawk at The Mudville Gazette, GreyHawk is deployed and blogging.
Steve Shippert at ThreatsWatch
Ward Carroll at Military.com
A Soldiers Perspective
Some great reads folks, check them out. One of the guys from OpFor should have been invited as well. Anyway, he invited them there to thank them for their work and honest reporting from the war. Kudos Pres. Bush, that was a smart move!
Update: Give these guys a look see! full site here.

Madame Hillary Refuses To Denounce Moveon

Allah picked up on it and posted a link to the ABC news story. Here's why she won't and can't denounce them. Moveon was founded in the '90s to defend the Clintons in the wake of all the scandals from all the critics, a commenter at Burkean Reflections reminded me of that. In other words Moveon is part and parcel of the Clinton Machine and another tool they use to get around fundraising rules and more proof of how corrupt the Clintons really are. As they say "Let's just Move on", I say let's just Not.

Eagles Vs the Turkey Buzzards:Updated: Fake Photo Removed

Update: I bought into a photoshop job on the Code Pinkos, and have removed the photo, it was too easy to believe it knowing the pinkocrats, just as Dan Rather bought into those too good to be true memos. Just check the real pictures linked below and the pinko message is still the same, the picture was fake but very accurate. We do not need to photoshop them to discredit them, just post the truth.
Update: Tom at the RedHunter has more pics and commentary from the ground
Update: Michelle has some Eagles vs. turkey buzzards comparison pictures posted, the difference couldn't be more stark.
From NZ Bear

The photo that was previously here is a photoshop, but as the left likes to say about Rathergate, fake but true. Code Pinkos support the killing of our troops by their very actions enboldening the enemy, just listen to what Bin Laden said in his last missive
. Thanks to T for pointing that out.

NZ Bear has loads of pictures posted at the Victory Caucus from the big "Peace March" in DC and they say it all, a motly but colorful collection of Pinkos, communists, socialists and aging hippies and their signs prove it. I haven't seen anything comparing numbers yet but If I do I will post them. Michelle Malkin kept her blog updated with commentary and other links, she heard reports of eggs being thrown at the Gathering of Eagles.
Look at the Democrat's base, it can't be helping their image very much, lets dress up like idiotic fools and go march in a parade to hurl invectives and promote socialism. These are the folks that put the Democrats into office and hopefully will sicken enough normal folks that the Dems can't hold those offices.
Update: Spree at Wake Up America has a great roundup of The Gathering of Eagles and turkey buzzards/vultures.
A comment from my resident troll, he lives under the bridge and he tried to come out today, my tag, Goat, did come from Aesop's fable. "i'm in complete agreement with code pink.KEvron". This is a vile troll keep him under the bridge my friends.
PS: Welcome to the Barnyard visitors from Spreeville!

Lower Tier Bloggers And Our Impact

I am working with my friend, Don at Burkean Reflections, on a project of his called "Blog Watch" where conservative bloggers of us lower ranks keep an eye on what our peers on the left are saying and expose them for what they are and to recognize and promote those of us that believe in America and the American conservative movement. He has an excellent post up about the the influence we have even if our readership may seem miniscule when compared to Kos, LGF and Michelle and her team at Hot Air. In the spirit of my comments there, here are three new Barnyard Blogroll members.

An American gal: Big Girl Pants

An interesting Aussie: America's Interests, they are our best, oldest and strongest allies.

And a Missionary mom living in the Amazon jungles of Venuzuela, Jungle Mom,a very interesting and dedicated Lady, my hat's off and Prayers for her.

Update: Another comment from my resident troll, a vile creature: ""keep an eye on what our peers on the left are saying and expose themfor what they are"i can't wait to read my file!KEvron". Don't worry your day is coming and a few of your friends, the one or two you may have. This freak is the epitome of moonbat hate.

Just Another Clinton Scandle

From today's Patriot Post Digest, Clinton may be called to testify in a criminal trial, ouch if you're a Democrat. More ammuntion for us in the general, more proof why we can't let this woman and her husband antwhere near the Whitehouse again.

If having to explain away Norman Hsu weren't bad enough, Hillary Clinton may have to testify in the California Court of Appeals in a lawsuit filed by Hollywood producer Peter Paul. Paul filed a lawsuit against the Clintons and two of their associates claiming that the former President reneged on an agreement to be a rainmaker for Paul's Internet venture if Paul produced a fundraiser for Hillary's 2000 Senate campaign. Paul claims to have Mrs. Clinton on videotape agreeing to help plan the August 2000 event.

The Clinton Senate campaign has already paid a $35,000 fine to the FEC for not properly reporting the money raised at that event. Now, if Paul's videotape holds up in court, Clinton could be in bigger trouble for having a direct hand in the planning. The fundraiser would then be defined as a hard-money donation that is more than a thousand times the legal limit for an individual donation.

In a 2006 written statement submitted to the California court, Clinton maintained that she did not recall having such a conversation with Paul. If she is called upon to testify during this appeal, it will be another historic first. No presidential candidate has ever had to appear in a criminal court during their campaign. Trailblazing, indeed.

Geez, with that couple we get ethics problems and sex scandles combined, what more could you want? Add a hatred for the Military and love for socialism to the mix and you have the perfect Democrat for POTUS, Go Hillary.

On a related note Hizz'oner Rudy Giulliani took out a full page ad in the NYT ripping Hillary and Moveon, smart move, Rudy is a very savvy campaigner and understands how to use the MSM. Boom, that was the warning shot across the bow of the Madame Hillary, he's ready for her.

The Eagles And The Turkey Buzzards Are Gathering In DC

The photo that was previously here is a photoshop, but as the left likes to say about Rathergate, fake but true. Code Pinkos support the killing of our troops by their very actions enboldening the enemy, just listen to what Bin Laden said in his last missive.

Update: Picture courtesy of the Defiant Infidel
Today's Democrat party is bought and paid for by Moveon. I ain't movin' !
This is going to be a colorful weekend on the Mall, lots of red, white and blue mixed with pink, yellow and black, I think we all know which colors belong to which group. I am hoping a blogger friend over at The Redhunter can crosspost here some of the festivities since he will be there if not don't forget to keep an eye on his site and Michelle will be there with her HotAir team so will Townhall blog, keep an eye on those as well for the Patriotic Gathering of Eagles and the outlandishly pathetic gathering of Code Pinkos, communists and aging hippies. I thought turkey buzzard would be a good descriptor for them as they attempt to feed off the honorable dead like carrion to feed their movement.
Heres to you Eagles, you do the US proud ! OOOOHRAAA!

Hezbollah in Dearborn Michigan Arrested

From the Jawa Report, Rusty is all over it. I knew it wouldn't be long before things started happening up there.
We need to be alert folks, they are here and the Democrats want to deny Law Enforcement to tools needed to find them. Think about it!
Michelle Malkin has alot more plus a roundup of other blogger reacts

Screaming Lies From The Moonbat Blogs:This Is Rich

I saw this story about an alleged dust up between Adm. Fallon, CentCom Commander and Gen. Petraeus, MNF-I Commander on that regressive socialist website FireDog Lake last night while helping Donald do some research. Dean Barnett picked it up this morning from Daily Kos and Think Progress and reported that it was from an anonymous source with alleged access to someone familiar with the reports. In other words if you don't like the news make some up as Dean put it.

And you though the Moveon.Org ad was something. You ain’t seen nothin’ yet. There is no hole so deep that the modern left considers it unnecessary to keep digging. In other words, the demonization of David Petraeus has just begun.

The lefties at the Daily Kos and Think Progress are both giving a lot of play to the following quote that Admiral William Fallon allegedly (much more on that in a bit) made about his underling David Petraeus during their first meeting in Baghdad last March. The Daily Kos and Think Progress report Fallon called Petraeus “an ass-kissing little chicken-sh*t.”

I know what you’re thinking. For reputable outfits like the Daily Kos and Think Progress to report such an incendiary comment, the remark must be impeccably sourced. Well…

The original report of the comment, the scoop if you will, came in something called the “Inter Press Service News Agency,” or “IPS” as the organization bills itself. What? You’ve never heard of this IPS and find yourself curious about who and what it is? IPS describes itself this way on its website: “IPS, civil society's leading news agency, is an independent voice from the South and for development, delving into globalisation for the stories underneath. Another communication is possible.” I don’t know what any of that means either, but I figure I’d share it with you and put it out there for deconstruction.

They should know by now that they can't lie about our Troops without the Milbloggers jumping on it. So Uncle Jimbo at Blackfive jumped in and snapped an email off to CentCom PAO asking about the veracity and got a swift reply.

Jim,
Thanks for your inquiry.

The story is inaccurate. Admiral Fallon and General Petraeus have an
outstanding relationship.

LCDR Scott Miller
CENTCOM Public Affairs

The surge must be working if the screaming moonbats are getting this desparate to smear Gen. Petraeus , way to go moonbats, good one. Remember this is the base that the Democrat leadership is ingratiated to, several Dems have even posted at Kos. No wonder the Military and their families and Veterans overwhelmingly supports the GOP and is just an example of what we will see if the GOP can't regain both Houses and keep the Presidency.

If Bush Is So Stupid How Did He Fool You

(Hattip: HotAir via Huffpo)
Hillary voted for the use of Military force and gave speeches about the threat of Saddam and WMD, The Iraq regime change act was Clinton era policy. She evades and spins around Bill Maher's question and then flat lies about her record, good one Hillary, the smartest woman in the world, yea right. The biggest liar maybe, the biggest shuckster possibly, lining her pockets with ChiCommie donations just like Billy boy and his partner in crime Al Gore.

Vietnam Memorial Desecrated: Updated

Michelle Malkin has the details and a roundup of other blogger reacts. Yes folks the people/person that did this are the Democrat base, despicable.
Spree at Wake Up America has a run down of other Memorials around the country that have also been defaced recently, some damaged badly. Yep thats the way to show your love and support for the troops, right. Maybe we need the equivalent of London's Tower Guards to protect our Memorials to those that have made the ultimate sacrafice so that we and others around the world can be free. This just burns me up, freakin jackasses.

Update: Ronald Winter at Human Events looks at the media blackout and relative quiet from the Park Service. It was Free Republic that broke the story when some freepers noticed and got video and pictures, way to go guys!

Willing Suspension Of Disbelief

(Hattip: HotAir)
Hillary calls the General a liar in so many words and this woman wants to be POTUS and Commander in Chief. This shows how she would treat the military should she get elected. Add this to the Democrats silence on the Moveon.org 'Betray us ad' in the NYT. I guess if they were to condemn Moveon their fund raising would dry up with Hsu and other fundraisers getting busted for channeling dirty money to Hillary, she's had to return almost 1 million bucks already.

AllahPundit also has linked to a piece that calls the recent OBL tape a highly edited version of previous ones, he had already pointed out a couple splices and that for most of it is just a still picture especially when OBL? talks of current events. I for one think he is and has been worm food for a while now otherwise that media hog would have been all over the airwaves touting our supposed failures in Iraq and Afganistan every few weeks to rally his forces.

What Has Fred Thompson Done?

He has done little if anything to help the Ca GOP when we could have used him, he wasn't even mentioned in the recall when we elected another GOP actor, Arnie. I am Ca GOP so I know how much Fred has helped us, Zero, Zip, Nada, not there, never heard of him. Reagan was devoted to the CA GOP first and foremost, acting second. Fred has been invisable to us, if he was for real we could have used him to help our state party, but no, partying in Hollywood was too important to him. Fred is a Hollywood phoney pure and simple.

Update: Well I found out why he hasn't helped the Ca GOP, he also lives in a tony Virginia suburb of DC and is too much a DC insider of the K streeet clan.

Senate Gasbags Take On The General And The Ambassador: Updated

What a grandstanding bunch those Senators are, geez put a camera on them and they can't shutup. I watched some of the General's Testimony before the Senate Armed Forces Comm. today and was quite astounded by the idiotic buffoonery of members of both parties and these people run the country, ouch. They weren't asking Gen. Petraeus and Amb. Crocker any questions, they were giving talking points speeches and preening for the camera and when they did ask one it was invariably: what is the date of our defeat and pullout by the dems and what is the date of victory and pullout by a couple of the reps like Hagel, Lugar and Collins. Sen Barbara Boxer from my poor state gave the moonbat address that was a Moveon.org talking points memo that ran so long the Gen. was asked to submit his own reply in writing, I'd rather a Gen. Patton response to that drivel, Petraeus is to classy for the correct response. Lots of complaining about the Iraqi government not getting anything done, I guess they haven't looked at our own gov't lately, yea the one run by the "more competent" Democrats. What have they done the last 8 months, besides trying to lose the war and naming a few buildings? Sen. McCain did himself well, as could be expected, asked more good questions than all the dems combined.
Hey GOP, they are giving us mountains of campaign material to use, between them, Moveon, the Code Pinkos, Osama and the mad Mullahs of Iran and Afgan/Pak. There is no reason we can't retake both houses and keep the Whitehouse in '08 easily. This ain't 1969 and insulting our Patriot Armed Forces is not taken kindly by the people regardless of how they feel about the war. If there is one thing America loves is its winners, so now we have a bunch of losers to point at and they are the Democrats. Heck they even advocate not keeping score in youth sports so there is no loser, sorry, the Democrats are losers pure and simple.
Update: I missed this exchange with Sen. Lindsay Graham, a Reserve JAG Officer and supporter of the war effort. Thanks to the folks at Hot Air, I didn't miss it after all.

6 years after: Reflections of 9/11

It has been 6 years since the US was attacked on September 11th and yet many Americans (and Canadians and Europeans) continue to be ignorant about our attackers, about their motives and about the proper course of action. Are we at war with 'terrorism'? Were the 9/11 hijackers upset about social injustices or were they part of a fringe minority of religious extremists? 6 years after the attack, our leadership is still painfully lacking a plan to combat our enemy, whoever they may be. After 6 years, WWII was won, Nazism defeated, the German and Japanese war machines crushed and totalitarianism beaten. However, in the same amount of time after 9/11, the West is only beginning to wake up and fight back. In order to defend ourselves, we must know our enemies, why they fight, concoct a defense plan and muster the courage to carry it out.

President George W. Bush declared an international 'War on Terror' after the atrocities of the 11th of September. Does the term 'War on Terror' really encapsulate the current conflict? Is the US at war with violent Quebecois separatists or militant environmental activists? Is 'Terror' even an enemy? No, friends, terror is a tactic wielded in by our enemies Islamic jihadists. Whether Islamic jihadists wage war by unconventional terrorist means or conventional fighting with the armies of Islamic countries, they are our enemies nonetheless. What drives these people is not concern over poverty, al-Qaeda's founder being a Saudi millionaire and many terrorists coming from wealthy middle-class backgrounds, nor are they upset over US foreign policy. Israel's 'occupation' of 'Palestine' is not why they fight us. These Islamofascists wage jihad because their faith, Islam, commands them to. They have not hijacked any holy texts and their actions are in perfect correspondence with the traditional Islamic interpretations of the Qur'an by prominent Muslim jurists. The Islamic manifesto, the Qur'an, commands that believers 'fight against them (Infidels) until idolatry is no more and Allah's religion reigns supreme' (Q 2:193). That is their goal, to make 'Allah's religion supreme'; not to liberate 'Palestine', not to help the poor, not to protest against the immoralities of Western culture but to rule, subdue and subjugate us Infidels. Islam means 'submission' and non-Muslims must either convert or be humiliated and debased before Muslims. The world is divided under traditional Muslim jurists into Dar al-Harb (the Hose of War) and the Dar al-Islam (House of Islam). In their view, there are no good Infidels or bad Infidels, only Infidels to be crushed for Allah. No amount of concessions or compromises will appease them, nothing short of the complete establishment of a worldwide Islamic caliphate ruled by sharia law will please them. Whenever we Infidels concede to them, whether by allowing Muslim women to vote veiled as Canada has or allowing them to call for the heads, literally, of those who draw cartoons of their prophet, we willingly submit to dhimmitude, second-class status under the Religion of Peace. By allowing them to flaunt our laws, mock our culture, criticize our values and form parallel societies under Islamic sovereignty in our own countries, we further promote the notion that our culture is not worth respect and aid our enemies in establishing their Islamic 1000-year Reich.

Clearly, the Islamic world must be confronted and defeated. However, the current ideas of our leaders are worthless. Bush's Wilsonian quest to spread freedom and democracy across the Dar al-Islam are doomed. Our freedoms and human rights stem from our Judeo-Christian values, the belief that all humans have inherent value in being creatures of a loving and merciful G-d. These concepts have no place in Islam, where people are merely slaves to the will of Allah. We believe that G-d gave us free choice and commands us to grow, improve and develop His world; they believe that innovation is a sin and that 7th century Arabia was the ideal society. No, no Jeffersonian democracy will take rout there; the Iraqi and Afghan constitutions enshrine sharia! Victory in the war against Islamofascism should be considered anything that weakens the Abode of Islam rather than the growth of democracy. Democracy will develop once Islam is gone. Now, however, we must work on getting rid of it, or at least Islam in its current political form. In that vein, the US has no obligations in Iraq now and since the Iraqis have clearly shown that they are not ready to build a free society or even show that the disparate religious and ethnic groups that live there even want to be a country, the US has no more reason to be there. Staying in Iraq drains American resources and moral and does nothing to stop the demographic and religious spread of Islam in Europe. Fighting in Iraq will not prevent the almost inevitable Eurabian civil war. There are parallel Islamic societies on European soil, being almost majorities in Malmo, Rotenburg, Marseilles or Paris and that is what the US should be focusing on, not whether or not Muslims in Iraq want democracy, which they most certainly do not understand or want. 'But there will be a Sunni-Shiah civil war!', you may protest. But what is wrong with that? Once the Kurds have been given a state, a symbol that shows the casting off of Arab imperialism and one that could ignite further nationalist aspirations throughout the Islamic world, why would a Sunni-Shia war be bad? Let every Islamic nation be torn apart by this violence! Let the Saudis and the rest of the Sunnis back the Sunnis of Iraq and let Iran support the Shias. Imagine each Islamic country pumping tons of money and resources into their side in Iraq, as the violence grows and destroys them as well.

The best course of action to take against the House of Islam would be to isolate and strangle it. Islamic history has shown that whenever Islamic societies have taxed and oppressed non-Islamic communities out of existence (what happened to the Jews, Christians and Zoroastrians of the Middle-East?) or have no more Infidel societies to steal ideas from, Islamic societies become economically, scientifically and politically moribund. Islam is like a cancer that makes society stagnate and die. In the decades that the Arab world has lived off of oil, they have never invested in building self-supporting economies or helping their own citizens. Therefore, it is necessary for Western governments to sponsor a full-scale Manhattan project to find an alternative energy source and to watch the Islamic countries slowly die of suffocation. Let Europe stop taking in the Islamic overpopulation and let their countries become crowded and resource scarce. Muslims need to resolve their own problems instead of shirking off their responsibilities and blaming the 'other', whether it is the 'Zionists', 'Crusaders' or 'Western imperialism'. Let Muslims sleep in their own beds and exist in their Islamic dystopia of illiteracy, poverty, overpopulation, madness and tyranny. By then, Muslims will either realize that Islam is the problem and reject or reform it or they will destroy themselves. Either way, it is none of the West's concern.
