Mom Is Coming For A Visit !

With Mom in town, sightseeing and wine tasting are a must, so political blogging will be light for the next few days, instead expect 'Americana' as we tool around, with lots of pictures. We will take a few of the tours mentioned in my gold-country ramblings and enjoy some great wine and quality time together.
Update: We are going to go tour the Bidwell Mansion in Chico, tomorrow. John Bidwell launched our agricultural history in California, a botanist that struck gold, he was at the Coloma gold strike at Sutter's Mill in 1848 as Gen. Sutter's right hand man, and verified the strike.
This weekend we might head for the cabin, on the North-East side of Yosemite, passing through Truckee, North shore Tahoe, and down the Carson Valley to a little road and creek just out of Bridgeport . We will make some stops that I had wanted to in a previous Rambler.
The ghost town of Bodie: The "High Plains Drifter" was filmed about 20 miles South of Bodie at Mono lake and the town was used in a few scenes and was a very rich gold strike.. Stay tuned.....
After last week, I need a break in the mountains of California!
My new friends, this is the Americana side of the Barnyard, heck, I am restless and love photography, my archives are full of pictures and gold country history if you wish to take a stroll though the Barnyard, stop and have a glass of tea or ale, tea in the morn and ale in the eve.
