Screaming Lies From The Moonbat Blogs:This Is Rich
I saw this story about an alleged dust up between Adm. Fallon, CentCom Commander and Gen. Petraeus, MNF-I Commander on that regressive socialist website FireDog Lake last night while helping Donald do some research. Dean Barnett picked it up this morning from Daily Kos and Think Progress and reported that it was from an anonymous source with alleged access to someone familiar with the reports. In other words if you don't like the news make some up as Dean put it.
And you though the Moveon.Org ad was something. You ain’t seen nothin’ yet. There is no hole so deep that the modern left considers it unnecessary to keep digging. In other words, the demonization of David Petraeus has just begun.
The lefties at the Daily Kos and Think Progress are both giving a lot of play to the following quote that Admiral William Fallon allegedly (much more on that in a bit) made about his underling David Petraeus during their first meeting in Baghdad last March. The Daily Kos and Think Progress report Fallon called Petraeus “an ass-kissing little chicken-sh*t.”
I know what you’re thinking. For reputable outfits like the Daily Kos and Think Progress to report such an incendiary comment, the remark must be impeccably sourced. Well…
The original report of the comment, the scoop if you will, came in something called the “Inter Press Service News Agency,” or “IPS” as the organization bills itself. What? You’ve never heard of this IPS and find yourself curious about who and what it is? IPS describes itself this way on its website: “IPS, civil society's leading news agency, is an independent voice from the South and for development, delving into globalisation for the stories underneath. Another communication is possible.” I don’t know what any of that means either, but I figure I’d share it with you and put it out there for deconstruction.
They should know by now that they can't lie about our Troops without the Milbloggers jumping on it. So Uncle Jimbo at Blackfive jumped in and snapped an email off to CentCom PAO asking about the veracity and got a swift reply.
Jim,
Thanks for your inquiry.
The story is inaccurate. Admiral Fallon and General Petraeus have an
outstanding relationship.

The surge must be working if the screaming moonbats are getting this desparate to smear Gen. Petraeus , way to go moonbats, good one. Remember this is the base that the Democrat leadership is ingratiated to, several Dems have even posted at Kos. No wonder the Military and their families and Veterans overwhelmingly supports the GOP and is just an example of what we will see if the GOP can't regain both Houses and keep the Presidency.

I tend to doubt the veracity of the Fallon quote myself, but I did have to laugh when I read the e-mail from CentCom, as though the military would ever confirm such a story, regardless of it's truth, on the grounds that it isn't anyone else's dang business what words pass between them...
Until I hear or see a tape of the comment being made, I'm not buying it...
However, I am interested in the other part of those reports, stating why Admiral Fallon is alleged to've said it, and what his attitude toward the occupation of Iraq & the surge is... There are rumors that Congress is attempting to get him to testify on the Hill...
You might want to blog on that part, as well...
I know Adm Fallon is not a fan of the Iraq war but that is only one area of his concerns, he is responsible for Africa and S.E. Asia as well. I won't argue that point. I don't believe much of anything coming out of a spin machine. Your right though they wouldn't admit if even if it did happen. I could hear friends say; don't chickenshit me, you know I don't like it. When say, reporting the flipping of the Anbari tribes and the awesome speed in progress that could have seemed glossed up. Put it in the spin machine.
The point of the post is not so much to debunk the comment it was to debunk the smear machine. Its an echo chamber.
And it's a good echo chamber, Goat. :)
