Weekend Rambler

Well the time has come to breakout the chainsaw and splitting tools to stock the woodshed and I am whooped. I guess I am very strange as this a task I actually enjoy, a very therapeutic release of aggressive anger I guess. Maybe it is just being outide in the fall and the anticipation of a fire dancing on the hearth during those long cold nights ahead.

Onto more important issues like politics, I heard Mark Warner will not be running for the Dem nomination for President in '08 virtually assuring a Clinton/Fiengold,Obama or Kerry ticket. He was the only Democrat with enough centrist clout to have a chance and with Hillary eying the Senate leadership seat of scandal plagued Harry Reid, '08 could get very interesting. Mitt Romney now has a wide open door to walk through easily. That is a truelly scary thought, SanFran Nancy Pelosi as House Speaker and Hillary Clinton as Senate Majority Leader if that prospect doesn't motivate the conservative base of the GOP nothing will.

Here in California Arnold has a comfortable lead and should have some strong coattails to pull along some other Republicans to State office, especialy Tom McClintock as LG . Tom will be on my blogger buddy Lores' show tonight at 10:00 pac., she keeps nailing down great interviewees as well she should as talented as she is. You can listen live, it is streamed from KRLA870. While Arnold could be called a RINO , Tom is the leader of the conservative GOP and surprisingly popular among our large independant voting bloc here, the Reaganites. If you want to see how America would function under Democrat leadership, just look at California and our absurd Legislature more worried about getting Gays married and illegal aliens in state tuition and the right to vote than they are about real issues like the economy , security and infrastructure. We have the worst roads in the country and the liberals want to give the money to illegals, the unions, and GLBT issues. I think the rest of California is tired of being dictated to by San Francisco and Hollywood. I also think the Nation is tired of being told what to think by those metropolitan elites, in Washington, New York, LA and San Fagcisco.
We like our taxcuts, our SUVs and pickups, our guns and our schools teaching reading, writing, math and science not gay marriage and revised history. If a kid wants to pray and read the Bible they should not be harrassed any more than a child reading the Koran or even The Little Red Book. That is diversity of thought, it is not swallowing the loony left's bait that only their thought is allowed.
Remember Hugh Hewitt's Maxim " If Its Not Close, They Can't Cheat". Fellow conservatives, it is time to get off your high horse, and out the rocker and remember, Win the War, Confirm the Judges, Secure the Border, Cut the Taxes, and Control the Spending or let Nancy Pelosi and Hillary Clinton control the agenda. It is our choice!

KVIE our local APT station is showing a documentary called "Walking the Bible", a journey through the Torah by land by Bruce Feiler. It has companion books as well and looks to be very good. I am watching it now, very interesting. What a desolate beautiful wilderness.
