Weekend Roundup

First double weekend edition in a while, but a few things a The American Thinker caught my eye particularly this article by Timothy Birdnow on our Left's love affair with radical islam, Hezbollah and the wackjobs in the Palestinian territories, come to mind. Which are subjects of a couple blog posts there as well, here and here.

Conservatives seem baffled by the animosity held by liberals towards Christians and Jews. Christianity requires the believer submit to authority, accept the rule of government, be charitable to his fellow; in short, be a model citizen. Ditto the Jews, who held these requirements even longer than the Christians. Why are liberals so hostile to both? For that matter, why do liberals seem so smitten with that 7th century holdover known as Islam? Why do those on the Left seem less than eager to defend our freedom and way of life from the ravages of Islamic Jihad?

Dennis Prager has discussed this extensively on his radio show, why our far left envirogreenies are teaming with the Taliban for a 7th century society where everything goes. I doubt our Amish communities would welcome that and if living in the third world is your thing, later, or join the Amish if you want to ride around on a buckboard. As Mary Katherine Ham points out in her Hamnation video clip, it is one think to preach the environmental gospel from a studio loft in San Francisco or New York than to live the life of a simple farmer or miner as in MKH's clip.I am but one generation from that life and as a tradesman it continues today. This is why I quit the Sierra Club, it is no longer about the environment, it is about social policy. I am all for preserving, protecting, clean policies, etc. but not the social engineering these groups now profess.

My friend Lores Rizkalla has a great line up for her show tonight, listen in www.krla870.com. I am proud of this gal, she has done well and runs a great show.
