Christmas In Iraq
For the first time Christmas has been declared a National holiday in Iraq and for the first time in decades Christians were able to celebrate without fear. This is fantastic news for a country that was slipping into civil war just two years ago and if the Democrats and their antiwar peaceniks allies had gotten their way it would never had happened. The vast majority of the Iraqi people know the US and President Bush are to thank for the growing peace and prosperity despite what one disgruntled Sadrist shoe chucker thinks. Christmas trees and decorations were even openly for sale on the streets of Baghdad.

Iraq may yet become the model for all Arab countries in the Middle-East after all since Hezbullah screwed up Lebanon.
Meanwhile all the inns in Bethlehem are full of Christian pilgrims to the birthplace of Christ.

Honestly, if Iraqis are not keeping Christmas in their hearts, I don't think they should be celebrating it as a national holiday.
Still, if they are, they should be, and if they are for that reason, it's more than a triumph of Christianity, but a triumph of diversity the likes of which the American Left would never understand.
I will assume the latter, of course, especially when this is definitely NOT what the Left has in mind when they talk about "diversity".
