Chaos In The BCS

I know I have a lot of College football fans that visit the Barnyard, a question, has there ever been a better season to make the call for a playoff system. We can keep the Bowls and have a playoff, The top eight playoff in six regional Bowls to meet in the Championship Bowl, the rest can still play the lesser Bowl games. The Big game would rotate among the three biggest bowl games while keeping a regional flavor, say, Rose, Orange, and Sugar, and it would add only one game to most team's schedule. The smart network could use it to launch the NFL playoffs, FOX, I think that scenario works, what do my others College ball fans think?

Goat, I deleted my other comment as it was no longer needed. Mizzou took a hard fall last night. Because of BCS rules that say that there can only be two teams from any division in they probably won't even be in a bowl after an incredible season. I like your playoff scenario and don't think it would be too hard to change the system to accomodate it. Maybe with this being such a screwy year they'll take a closer look at changing something.

It's long overdue. This is exactly the scenario that the BCS has always been vulnerable to: no clear top two teams.

I have a problem with the fact that not all conferences have a championship game. Either they all should have one, or none at all. The conferences should be set up to play each other in a playoff system. One thing they need to look at is dividing up the conferences equally, where all the conferences have the same ammount of teams, like in the NFL.

I have a problem with Mizzou being left out. There are 5 TEAMS in a bowl game with a lower ranking. There is also an undefeated team, the only undefeated team, that doesn't get to play for the championship. WTF???!!!

Yea Mizzou got screwed after a great season. Top 8 teams nomatter the conference playoff for the top spot, quarter-finals are semi-regional bowls and fixed then the semi-finals and championship rotate among Rose, Orange and Sugar Bowls. The rest of the teams can still play in the multitude of lesser bowls.
Ron, conference champs could still not make the top 8 teams so that should not be anything more than conference bragging rights and not part of making the playoffs. You could have conference champs with 3-4 out of conference losses winning con. title and not part of the big dogs so I find it unimportant out of conference since really only about half the conferences are truelly competitive on the national stage.
