Wednesday Reverie

The view along the trail is just as nice as the summit vistas, officially Green creek we named the upper parts Silver creek for the consistent color of the multitudinous small falls and rapids.I rank this trail in my top three,a moderate hike with stunning beauty at every step of the way.Log cabin remnants and old mining gear offer glimpses into history as you work your way towards this creek's headwaters in the snowcaps of the sierra nevada.

You make it out here,Sheepdog, and I will take you to these pictures.Maybe I should become a tour guide with my love of history and nature.I love California despite our totally screwed politics.I live in a small town just north of Sac'to in the deep "red" part of the state so I have a little buffer zone around me ,LOL.To me being conservative is just that, including nature.I quit the Sierra Club over politics and now support The Nature Conservancy and Ducks Unlimited type groups, and we are anti- enviroment,so much the loony left knows.Perhaps why I chase and feed wildbirds and love to take closeups of wildflowers and have a yard that is certified wildlife enviroment is I want to destroy what I love according to the LL.The Lord intended for us to be good gentle stewards of the land. This is why BM hated me so intensely in the FBZ.I can destroy most of the left's enviro arguments since I go where they want to close and my motto is
"Leave only footprints and take only pictures and trash".Infact it is partly President Bush's love of his Crawford Ranch that won my support.A man willing to clear a fence row himself when he could well afford to have it done tells this Goat something about him that other things never could.

"A Sand County Almanac" by Aldo Leopold will offer some insight to the Goat. This is a great book that extolls the virtuous nature of caring for spaceship earth and is a very enjoyable read.I read it almost everytime I go to the cabin.Sheepdog we will share a dutch-oven feast by the campfire one day,the conversation I look forward to !!!

I have hiked on that trail Cindy, long time no post. The Blue Ridge is absolutely gorgeous we took many trips that way as a youngster. When you are in trailess wilderness following small streams is a safety line to base from.
