Whose Money Is It?

I do believe the two things aside from the Miers kerfuffle, that have the conservatives so rankled is out of control spending and border control. We cannot let the dims get a stroke in on this, we have to move more fiscal conservatives into office like Mike Pence, George Allen and a small handfull of others. We have primaries where we can vote the porkers out. Here is the dilemma, voters like pork, don't like taxes, don't like/ have a solvent SSI program, are over run by illegal immigrants but like their hardwork and complain about drugs and gangs. Meanwhile many sit on their ass, get fat watching idiotic sitcoms, complain and don't bother to vote because 'the line was too long'.
I have been involved, albeit minorly, in third party politics and building coalititions for political action. The '92 campaign got me interested and Perot won me to the fiscally conservative business model for government, I voted for him twice and thus elected Billary Clinton, who balanced the budget on a shimmering mirage of '.bomb' money. If we were not attacked on 9/11 and weren't just hammered by repeat serious hurricanes (Don't Build There) and the damage of incompetent gov't inviting the pork hogs to the trough, we would be well into the black.
It happens in our own households, we're sitting pretty and something bad happens or good, buying a house, and we are back in debt. What do we do to pay for it? We cut back a few luxuries, fine tune the budget, cutback from eight movie channels to two, eat red beans and rice and spaghetti instead of steak. In otherwords we eliminate the frivolous art and feel good subsidies to our diet. Why can't our elected officials think like that?
This is why I joined the GOP as they at least attempt to go in the right direction away from socialism, and for the most part, GOP spending usually makes sense and is practical. We must strengthen the GOP not weaken it by replacing RINOs with good folks and a bit of Barnyard sense. We must build it from within just as the socialists did in the DNC. I like candidates strong on national and fiscal security, social conservatism I admit is a distant third to these two.
Don't sit on your hands and complain, VOTE, We can kick the numbskulls out, John Thune proved it. Get out and help these folks that don't get the massive amounts of union and special interest money. The very very best answer, short and sweet,
Term Limits !!!!!!! BAAAAAA!

Well Duh!: To further the anology previously rendered, if our house is not fiscally secure and well protected, it would be difficult to educate and raise our children.

Why do many conservatives want George Allen to run in '08? Rush Limbaugh among them. I don't understand it. I like the man but I don't necessarily see Presidential qualities in him. I think Mitt Romney would make a better candidate. Don't rule Newt out either.

Cabe, Romney,Allen,Owens,Rice,Huckabee, even Rudy all look great to me.I would vote for any combination of the above without a doubt and campaign for them heavily.

Don't rule out Newt. He's extremely intelligent and more experienced than all candidates mentioned previously. If he runs, he'll win the GOP nomination. Trust me folks.

I'll take that bet right now, Cabe. You got a PayPal account?? :)

Newt is probably going to run but he knows he can't win. He has baggage, will forever be tied to the '95 government shutdown, is despised by the press, is admittedly "too scholarly," and simply does not have the charisma and personality needed by presidential candidates in this ever increasing visual, media age.

I see him in a cabinet position but as the GOP nominee? No way. Trust ME.

If I hear Giuliani or McCain named one more time, I might spontaneously combust.

Neither one will ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever get by the primary process.

I'm all about Mitt and know he is running. If he loses the nomination, it will probably be solely as a result of a potential inability to overcome the Mormon factor through the Bible Belt.

But, he is about as conservative as they come, lights up a room when he enters, has no baggage, is a genius when it comes to turning financial problems around and may be able to pull it off. He is rather successful. ;)
