Badass Chicks In Combat

In addition to the chopper pilot mentioned in Yon's latest dispatch linked below I bring you the first two gals awarded the Silver Star since WWII, Hattip to the Jawa Report.
First, Sgt Leigh Ann Hester in Iraq after her convoy was hit by an ambush South of Baghdad she led her squad through the kill zone to out flank the terrorists and then cleared two enemy trenches killing several jihadis in the process with her M-4, grenades and M-203.
Second, Army medic Spc Monica Lin Brown after a humvee in her patrol in Afganistan was hit by an IED and subsequent ambush, she ran through withering fire from machine guns, RPGs and morters to the five injured men shielding them with her own body while dragging them to cover several hundred yards away and tended to their wounds till they could be medivaced out.
Thanks ladies you make us patriots proud! I for one have no problems with women in a combat zone as they can be ruthless warriors with a higher tolerance for pain than men and completely fearless.

While I do have some problems with women in combat I'm proud of the brave exploits of female soldiers Hester and Brown. Ladies, you rocked!!!!

Seanne-Anna welcome to the Barnyard, don't be a stranger and yes they rocked!
Heidi we have had women on or near the front since Korea and they have performed above and beyond the call of duty, they were both in support roles when called upon and earned their Stars! I don't think they should be infantry but in support women are among the very best.
