Hamas And Hezballah Have Legitimate Claims?

Barack Obama seems to think so in this interview with David Brooks.

The U.S. needs a foreign policy that "looks at the root causes of problems and dangers." Obama compared Hezbollah to Hamas. Both need to be compelled to understand that "they're going down a blind alley with violence that weakens their legitimate claims." He knows these movements aren't going away anytime soon ("Those missiles aren't going to dissolve"), but "if they decide to shift, we're going to recognize that. That's an evolution that should be recognized."

Seems to me the only thing those terror groups and their Iranian sponsors claim is a desire to kill all the Jews and take Israel by force.
Bob Owens at Confederate Yankee takes a look at just what those groups claim and reiterates a point that the Woods Fund on whose board Obama served with American terrorist Bill Ayers gave money to a PLO moneyman.
Democratic presidential frontrunner Sen. Barack Obama served as a paid director on the board of a nonprofit organization that granted funding to a controversial Arab group that mourns the establishment of Israel as a "catastrophe." (Obama has also reportedly spoken at fundraisers for Palestinians living in what the United Nations terms refugee camps.)
The co-founder of the Arab group, Columbia University professor Rashid Khalidi, is a harsh critic of Israel who reportedly worked on behalf of the Palestine Liberation Organization when it was labeled a terror group by the State Department.

Khalidi held a fundraiser in 2000 for Obama's failed bid for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives.

In 2001, the Woods Fund, a Chicago-based nonprofit that describes itself as a group helping the disadvantaged, provided a $40,000 grant to the Arab American Action Network, or AAAN, at which Khalidi's wife, Mona, serves as president. The Fund provided a second grant to AAAN for $35,000 in 2002.

In the same Brooks interview Obama also says that he admires Bush the elders diplomacy but as Max Boot points out GHW Bush had been an ambassador to China and the UN, served as CIA director and as Vice President thus building years of foreign diplomacy credentials. Just what has Obama done to get that kind of experience?
Noah Pollack notes that Obama seems to think the desire to drive the Jews into the sea can be appeased by better social services sponsored by the govenments dovetailing neatly into the standard lefty trope that poverty is what drives terrorism and not radical islamism. It also fits nicely with Obama's socialist belief that all problems can be solved with bigger and better government programs and social justice.
Psst, Barack, it doesn't help when President Bush talks about some people believing that appeasement works that you jump up and scream "He is talking about me" and then make historical gaffe after gaffe to defend your position. I know your faithful flock may be ignorant conspiracy nuts and anti-American elite lefties the rest of us aren't and you won't get away with empty incorrect rhetoric for much longer. Oh yeah, I forgot you were educated at Harvard, that elite institution of the left.
