Save The Polar Bear, Kill The Economy

There is an effort underway by warm-monger greenies to have the USFWS list the polar bear as an endangered species as a result of anthropogenic global warming that doesn't exist when in fact the bear population has been growing and is seen as very healthy since hunting was largely stopped. This is nothing but a back door route to have any activity that produces that dreaded plant food, carbon dioxide, and other "green house" gasses run through the Endangered Species Act and all the government restrictions and regulations that will come with it. This will cause a major problem in the creation of just about anything that needs energy. The polar bear is not endangered and neither is the polar ice they claim the bears need to survive as despite the continued rise of atmospheric co2 the planet has warmed zero in the last decade but has in fact cooled off a little.
Icecap as always has lots of good information and this report is also a very interesting read and details how political "solutions" to a problem that is scam and a myth don't work, like cap and trade or carbon taxing, but actually do devastating harm to the poor and developing nations as we are witnessing with the folly of ethanol.

Icecap Note: The environmentalists are worried with recent news of cooling, talk of future cooling due to the multidecadal ocean cycles and the sun, an arctic ice that has bounced back to highest level in 4 years and off western Greenland in 15 years. This push is not at all motivated by concern for the polar bears but as a maneuver to block any drilling for oil off Alaska and to facilitate state and federal government legislation action against the power industry and other sources carbon dioxide, now incorrectly listed as a pollutant. Technically this would even allow the government to tax you for using your lawnmower. Hopefully the Interior Department decision makers will see past the seriously flawed papers presented in support of the danger and heed the real experts and the real peer reviewed papers on this issue and have the courage to make the right decision

I agree with John McCain and Newt Gingrich that conservatives need to be involved in this debate over climate change in order to prevent the left from taking it over with the usual disastrous results that come from the socialists seeking to control the masses. I am all for cleaner technology to reduce pollution for the sake of reducing pollution not for some idiotic reasoning that man can control the climate through banning the use of carbon based energy sources.

You're right about Conservatives taking a sane voice in the debate. Too often we rush to the opposite corner in order to 'fight' when the middle of the ring is where we need to be. While the stupidity of AGW is both insidious and potentially very dangerous, clean air is always a plus. China's air hangs like a brown blanket. Pure poison.
