Senator Kennedy Diagnosed With Malignant Brain Tumor

This is sad news and my prayers go out to him and his family as the prognosis is very bad. From the AP story:

Malignant gliomas are a type of brain cancer diagnosed in about 9,000 Americans a year — and the most common type among adults. It's an initial diagnosis: How well patients fare depends on what specific tumor type is determined by further testing.

Average survival can range from less than a year for very advanced and aggressive types — such as glioblastomas — or to about five years for different types that are slower growing.

The main thing I have noticed is the difference in the reactions on the right side of the blogosphere to this news as compared to the left side when Dick Cheney has heart problems. I may disagree with Kennedy's politics but this is tragic news for any family to bear and they deserve our prayers and support in this difficult time.

Oh, how true. The left is vicious in their attacks on conservatives. Nothing is out of bounds or too over the top. Yet conservatives, who have every reason to dislike Teddy Kennedy are not joyous to see him ill. It is because we still have hearts.
Besides, we would rather Kennedy be defeated by a Republican, not cancer.
