Re: The Left

Townhall's and other's writers on the right are having a heyday on the socialist/communist demonstration over the weekend. It was not an anti-war rally as much as an anti-America communist rally.
Dennis Prager expounds on some of the many reasons I joined the GOP, explaining the hysteria of the left.
Prof. Adams, another favorite has some suggestions on gun ownership, the Remington .270 or 30.06 is just as reliable and accurate as the Browning he recommends and considerably less expensive. For home protection, I would recommend the Glock 10 mill or any sawed off scattergun with buckshot. There are also some very fine and extremely accurate air rifles now made with 1200fps muzzle velocity, that's quick and silent varmint control.
Umm, my fellow fiscal conservatives may want to read this and get ahead of it. It is important what we cut. What good does paying for art that bashes America do? What good does welfare do? What good does federal regulation do? We would have plenty of money for infrastructure, roads and levees, if we weren't paying for illegals and drug addicts.
I have linked this post by William at The Briefing once before and it is worth reposting!

And this girl can blog, Karen again has some great reads up in her Korner.
And an interesting poem supposedly by Lincoln, good but not his style: from Tishnagee

He will have to learn,I know, that all men are not just, all men are not true. But teach him also that for every scoundrel there is a hero; that for every selfish politician, there is a dedicated leader...

Teach him for every enemy there is a friend steer him away from envy,if you can teach him the secret of quiet laughter.let him learn early that he bullies are the easiest to lick...

teach him,if you can the wonders of the books...

but also give him quiet time to ponder the eternal mystery of birds in the sky, bees in the sun,and flowers on a green hillside. In the school teach himit is far honourable to fail than to cheat...

Teach him to have faith in his own ideas, even if everyone tells himthey are wrong...

Teach him to be gentle with gentle people, and tough with the tough.Try to give my son the strength not to follow the crowd when everyone is getting on the band wagon...

Teach him to listen to all men...

but teach him also to filterall he hears on a screen of truth, and take only the good that comes through.

Teach him if you can how to laugh when he is sad...

Teach him there is no shame in tears,

Teach him to scoff at cynics and to beware of too much sweetness...

Teach him to sell his brawn and brain to highest bidders but never to put a price-tag on his heart and soul

Teach him to close his ears to a howling moonbats and to stand and fight if he thinks he is right.

Treat him gently, but do not cuddle him because only the test of fire makes fine steel.

Let him have courage to be impatient...

let him have the patience to be brave.

Teach him always to have sublime faith in himself,

because then he will have sublime faith in mankind.

This is a big order,

but see what you can do...

he is such a fine fellow,my son!

All over the place, but right on the mark.

And I'm still partial to my .45 Ruger.....Nice shot, and gets the job done.

Thank God I live in a right to carry state.......And have the right to shoot to kill any son of a bitch who enters my house uninvited.

You know, I have looked over the national budget. It appears that NASA is requesting 16.2 billion dollars this fiscal year. That's more than Labor and the EPA's requesting. Also, that's about a third of our educational expenses.

I honestly don't care about the moon, about the stars, about black holes, about blah blah blah. I think it's important. I just don't care. What's important are the domestic tasks that we must accomplish.

Space exploration can wait.
