Garbage Island II
The VBS team finally arrives at the edges of the great Pacific garbage vortex. They have posted two more episodes of the series since my last post. You can go here to view the rest. Here is the latest.
How do we clean up this mess and prevent it from growing? It all starts at home folks by picking up trash and preventing it from getting into waterways that flow to the ocean. I do my part by recycling and composting, I generate less than an underdesk trash can of garbage a month that would go into a landfill. We all have to do our part in just these little ways.

If it hadn't been for the moonbats we never would have gone to so much plastic in the first place. Paper was at least biodegradable! Trees can be grown to replace what trees we use for paper. Everything is plastic now and it lasts forever.
I'm not old, but I do remember when the first two liter bottles were introduced by Coca Cola...they were made of glass. As for the garbage vortex, it sounds like a great opportunity for an enterprizing private company to collect and recycle that stuff for profit. I just know that the government will get involved and screw it up though.
Gayle , the thing is plastic is 100% recyclable and paper is only about 60% though I agree it is biodegradable.
Hmm, that is an idea Roadhouse and I agree government would muck it up somehow, sad.
The sun can destroy your plastic--the only things that cannot be destroyed are gold and cockroaches...
