thanks for posting this, goat. i heard about this over a year ago - and i couldn't help but laugh... last summer - when on our annual vacation - my husband and i were talking to a woman who (with a straight face) said we needed to figure out a way to get rid of "those trees that need carbon dioxide to live so we can reduce our need for greenhouse gasses and live a more green life." i kid you not. she's an attorney and a staunch adherent to all that the idiocy of code pink, moveon, etc... sheesh.
Heidi,I guess she didn't know the trees clean our air better than anything else and they breakdown the CO2 and store the carbon while releasing the oxygen we need to live. I wish one of those idiots would try to debate me but they won't. I have two/three goals with this site, beat Hillary and global warming lunacy while electing Mitt. PS: "Attorney" means she sucked at science and math just as Al Gore did, D average.
Hiedi, I bet she gets mad when you rebut her arguments as well. I have some friends that buy into the garbage as well though I can usually get them off the bandwagon and into some sreious conversation. I gotta be on my game though with the facts and some of the sites I have found the last couple days are wonderful for that, favorite, Icecap, I did instantly.
BTW, I am a very green "crunchy con" conservationist and amateur naturalist. I wonder how many of the loft living enviromentalists have a yard classified by the World Wildlife Federation can call their yards wildlife habitat as I can

we live in the city, but do our best to be conservative on the environment. taking care of the environment (or trying to) doesn't mean you're a bleeding heart liberal. most of the people i know who claim to be environmentalists are so in words only...
I've had the "man-made" Gorebal Warming debate with several liberals here in Chicago and elsewhere, and most of them do get mad when I ridicule their baseless arguments.
The fact is, I have yet to meet a single proponent of that mallarkey who can actually cite a single shred of evidence to support it.
My conclusion is that they only believe it because they want to believe it, which is a tendency most liberals apparently share on a great many issues.
