They Really Stepped In It And Boy Does It Stink

CNN is getting hammered all over the blog and pundit world for their weedy debate shindig. They should know by now that they are not going to be able to slide things past the observant bloggers and media watchdogs in these days of google and instant fact checking. What little credibility CNN had is now being run through the blog grinder and its not pretty. It seems the Clinton News Network got caught in a New Republic moment, posers for a storyline.

I enjoyed the show because the GOP looked good under the onslaught of often idiotic questions mixed with some good ones, think Helen Thomas or David Gregory at press conference. The problem is not with the questions so much as the way CNN sold the debate as questions from undecided GOP voters, not Dem activists and it turned into a farce. It does make the Dems look even worse for ducking FOX though.

The POTUS must be able to handle a hostile often inane presscorps and their smart-ass questions so we got a glimpse of that, Rudy and Mitt have faced it more than the others, Fred and Huck are naturals. We know how Hillary would handle hostile press, have them investigated for sedition and you can bet the Fairness Doctrine will be reinstated to shush Rush and the rest.

Gateway Pundit has a round up on the plants.

I watched this debate too, and as soon as that man was given the mike in the audience I said to Walt: "What the hell? He's taking air time away from the candidates. CNN shouldn't be doing that!" Then it turns out he's on Hitlery's steering committee. CNN pleads they are innocent and didn't know. Ignorance is no excuse. They should have known. They should have checked him out, and I know they know to do that, which is why I don't believe them.

Gayle, that retired General had been on CNN before in '03, I didn't know gays in the Military was a GOP issue of contention, don't ask, don't tell the Military is for warriors ready to fight in a war, not for social engineering and feel good politics.
