American Idol

I watch the show on occasion and have rarely been impressed, the last time was the British version that gave us Paul Potts. They are doing the guys tonight and rest assured there are no new Geoff Tates or Ronnie James Dios in this round. I can't sing a lick and always wanted to when I was running around in the '80s metal scene so I do know good vocals when I hear them and I went to school with folks with far better voices than I am seeing/hearing on stage tonight but they could all front a typical modern band. That is not saying much by the way.
Update: There were two genuinely very good voices to come out of tonight and both named David.
