Nancy Pelosi Wrong Again: Updated
Video from my blogger platoon leader Amy at Bottom Line Up Front
She famously told Wolf Blitzer recently that the surge was a failure because Iraqi politicians had not gotten anything done towards National reconciliation after they had just passed a law to allow some of Saddam's old Baath party back into the Government as long as they had not commited crimes against the people. Now even the NY Times has to report the passing of three new important laws by Iraq Parliament that will go a long ways towards that reconcilliation.
The three laws are the 2008 budget, a law outlining the scope of provincial powers — a crucial aspect of Iraq’s self-definition as a federal state — and an amnesty that will cover thousands of the detainees held in Iraqi jails, including thousands of Sunnis, many of whom have been held without charges for months and, in a few cases, more than a year. It will be the largest release at one time since 2003.
There are more details in the article and is pretty fair considering the NYT's well known bias against the war.
Meanwhile Nancy's House is investigating steroid use in baseball and grilling one of the best pitchers to ever take the mound, shouldn't that be left up to MLB management? Just what have Nancy and Harry Reid accomplished in their lead roles of the House and Senate, almost nothing but get their donkey asses whooped by the GOP and Pres. Bush at every turn earning record low approval ratings.
It sounds to me like the Iraqi Parliament is getting more done under far more difficult circumstances, at least they can pass a budget.
Update: Here is some related news from Iraq.
Michael Yon's latest two dispatches from Baghdad, here and here.
Bill Ardolino's third installment of a look inside the Iraqi government.
Michael Totten's latest from his trip to Fallujah last October.

Being able to pass a budget is a good thing. Maybe Pelosi and crew should go to Iraq and learn how!
LOL, Gayle, then they would have no excuses for being failures themselves.
