Victor Davis Hanson On A Post Bush World

This is my number one concern about Barack Obama and his mindless minions of hope and change that the world is not going to change just because a Democrat might get elected as our next President. Hillary at least knows this and so does John McCain but Barack's fanatical following think he can wag his tongue and the whole world will fall under the spell of the Obamassiah, well that ain't going to happen. The world has serious problems that won't go away just because we might elect an elonquent black man to the most powerful office in the world in fact his squishy weakness on foreign policy will be seen as a weakness by the tyrants and jihadis and his opposition to free trade will alienate our friends just as Hillary would, just look at the current flap over NAFTA. Anyway go read VDH's latest piece, here is a snip.

It is a cop-out to say George Bush caused all these problems. They loom large mostly for two reasons. One, the United States promotes global democratic capitalism, and our military ensures international free commerce in the air and on the seas. This bothers regional dictators and terrorists eager to carve out their own spheres of influence, regardless of who's sitting in the Oval Office.

Two, billions of people in India, Russia, China, Asi, and Latin America, having copied American business and culture, are now doing better, and demand the same good lives we take for granted.

Our rivals suspect that we are played out, short of energy, long on debt, and hogging the world's resources. They see no reason to stop pushing just because of our past strength and reputation. They think the future is theirs, the past ours. And so all over the globe they will surely challenge the next president, however nice, to prove them wrong.

We must stop Obama. He is far more dangerous than most people think!
