GOP Debate: Updated

All in all they were all on the same page on spending and taxes and came across fairly knowledgable on economic issues. I thought Mitt won, but I am biased, and was in his element, Rudy was also strong with the sparks between the two, while friendly, being the high point of the debate. Fred did not fall on his face and was solid but did not shine and needs to lose the perpetual frown, he comes across as dull and gloomy though good with the dry one liners. I do not foresee a poll bump for him coming from his performance. As much as I like Duncan Hunter and Tom Tancredo it is time for them to throw in the towel with Sam Brownback and drop out. Ron Paul, the angry crank, has his supporters and has raised some money but I have to wonder how many of them are registered GOP primary voters. I like Mike Huckabee alot as well but he had ethics and tax problems in Arkansas and is somewhat a nannystater, he didn't shine today like he has in other debates. McCain seemed far more subdued and less punchy than usual and got in some good lines but he does best when he sticks to his straight talk about spending. It is increasingly obvious that this is a Rudy and Mitt race with Fred shuffling aimlessly around and notably missing from the campaign trail.

Update: More blogger coverage, Michelle took a nap but I think she likes Mitt since he sat down for an interview with her.
Anyway:
Hot Air has some video clips.
AmSpec Blog has running commentary
Matt Lewis at TownHall live blogs it, MKH and Hugh weigh in as well.
Lots at NRO, the Corner and the Campaign Spot as lively as always.
