What The MSM Is Not Telling Us:Updated

Well there is actually alot they are not telling us but this about a retired General's remarks, LG Ricardo Sanchez the man that was in charge in Iraq for a time. The media are only reporting his negative remarks about the way the war was being fought not his eviscerating of the presscorps and their biased distorted coverage of the war. Mike Yon has the full speech to the press corps. Read it for yourself and see just who gets skewered.

As I understand it, your measure of worth is how many front page stories you have written and unfortunately some of you will compromise your integrity and display questionable ethics as you seek to keep America informed. This is much like the intelligence analysts whose effectiveness was measured by the number of intelligence reports he produced. For some, it seems that as long as you get a front page story there is little or no regard for the “collateral damage” you will cause.

Personal reputations have no value and you report with total impunity and are rarely held accountable for unethical conduct. Given the near instantaneous ability to report actions on the ground, the responsibility to accurately and truthfully report takes on an unprecedented importance. The speculative and often uninformed initial reporting that characterizes our media appears to be rapidly becoming the standard of the industry.

That last paragraph brings to mind more than Abu Ghraib but also the Haditha Marine incident that led to rep John Murtha Dem to accuse them of murder on the House floor, well those Marines have been cleared and a new report indicates the whole event was staged propaganda by AQ and fed to a media overwilling to tar and feather our brave troops. Even the Abu Ghraib prison incident was over hyped and CBS did not break the story the Army did after a disgusted officer blew the whistle and referred it up the chain of command.
DeeBow at Blackfive goes after the military portion of the General's comments as one of the soldiers under his former command.
Update:Michelle Malkin has her take on the matter.
A little war porn from Mudville Gazzette of some IED placers getting iced.

I'm truly glad I have the internet, Goat. If we had to depend on the MSM for our news, we'd be completely misinformed!

without the internet, especially the bloggers who work so hard to get the truth out there, we would have even more people buying into the same crap the msm fed the world about vietnam. thanks for all of your hard work to be a cog in the machine...
