Government Healthcare

Rudy Guilliani recently joked in a debate that if we were to impose Hillarycare/singlepayer government controlled healthcare "Where would the Canadiens go for treatment?" Well it is closer to the truth than many supporters of socialist medicine would ever admit besides its enormous cost to taxpayers it doesn't work. Yea we have our problems but most of them could be solved with tort reform, billing transparency and reducing regulations and mandates on insurance companies, free market reforms not bigger less efficient government take over. I mean look what its done for our public schools. This little video clip will give you an idea how bad it is in Canada with its rationed care and I could dig up dozens of articles about Britain's and France's system as well.

in 1999-2000 we had an exchange student from bad liebenwerder germany (formerly east germany). about two months after she arrived, her parents emailed us pictures of the "new" car that had just arrived that they had ordered years earlier.

apparently although cars were no longer purchased through a single-payer system, capitalism in the rural areas of eastern germay had not yet caught up. i'm pretty sure it wasn't a trbaunt, but it was ugly and they had pre-paid for it...

The fact they emailed the pictures is ironic, Heidi, after waiting years for a car they had prepaid for. We both seem to have had alot of exposure to exchange students. We had one stay with us from East Germany as well and there were many in the private HS My father tought at and I attended. We had about 8 Iranians enrolled during the hostage crisis when I was there along with Jordanians, Saudis, Brazilians, Thai and Japanese. I learned alot back then from them, the Iranians for the most part were very snobbish considering this was in the heart of Dixie. No wonder I love Asian food so much.

Great video find, Goat. Because I have visited many Canadian blogs, I'm well aware of their problems with their present socialized system of health care. It's a nightmare! One blogger I know lost his father because he couldn't get him into the hospital up there and his father didn't want to make the trip here to see a doctor. It goes on and on and the horror stories are endless.
