OK, Tailgate Season BBQ Chowdown and Good Eats

Its that time of the year, football and the art of BBQ and other wise good eats. A new friend of the Barnyard , a Cluttered Eclectic Mind, Ron brings the art of the grill to the forefront. I think that this is an important topic this time of year. I have no reason to keep my BBQ tips secret, I want everybody to enjoy and expand upon the conversation. I have probably cooked more meals over hot coals than an electric coil, I learned to cook on the grill and fire ring. Lets have some food fun, post a favorite recipe for the season or a BBQ tip.

What is your favorite football party nosh contribution?

Good News For Mitt, Bad News For Hillary: Updated With Video

First the good news, Mitt is solidifying his leads in Iowa and New Hampshire, and gaining fast or leading in some polls in other crucial early states. He is picking up key endorsements and Fred Thompson's religious outreach director just defected to the Romney camp. The cream will rise to the top as the saying goes.
It also stands that poor wine making leads to vinegar and that is what we are seeing with Hillary, a carefully made vintage and bottle that turned to vinegar and we got a taste of it last night in the debate when Tim Russert managed to crack the bottle open and got her to pour some of the oily bitter whine. She is getting hit pretty hard from all sides today in the blogosphere and press, it says alot that she was still the best on the stage. This is the best the Democrat Party has to offer??? Ouch, I am feeling better by the day about '08 for the GOP, especially if the Dems keep playing political games in Congress and get nothing done. They are also deeply plagued by corruption that is slowly getting out despite their allies in the MSM's best efforts not to report it.
Finally it took a couple bloggers to file a complaint with the FEC about Hillary's fundraising practices, mainly dealing with the recent Chinatown fiasco, hats off and toasts to Matt Margolis and Mark Noonan.
Hillary is like a cat, moody, secretive and aloof surrounded by dogs, Obama and Edwards are lapdogs scared of her claws and yip from a safe distance. Mitt is the sheepdog, crafty, circling, containing and constantly snipping. Rudy is the bulldog that tears in head on without fear, latching on and not letting go. Fred the big old hound dog that bays once, leaves the cat sticking to the ceiling like Sylvester, laughs and goes back to sleep. Huckabee is the lovable pup running around looking for MSM petting, while John ran off with an illegal immigrant.

Democrats Debate Tonight; Updated

Conclusion: Ouch, the Dem candidates loaded the blogs and conservative talkers with loads of soundbites. They were horrible, they couldn't even bash Bush honestly when going after the war. Bush isn't running and there were a couple weak jabs at Rudy and one very poor one at Mitt Romneyto close the debate by B. Hussien Obama. What a bunch of fools, no wonder they won't go on FOX to debate, the MSNBC crew gave them all they could handle., a hattip to NBC.
Update: Funny, they are still running against President Bush.
Update: Whoa , Chris Dodd and Hillary bang heads over drivers licences for illegal immigrants, discussing NY Gov Elliot Spencer's new proposal, Dodd anti, Hillary, pro.
Update: Fred, Mitt and Rudy will smoke any of these folks in debate, even Fred could sleepwalk through it, with a "there she goes again" line.
Sidenote: Wouldn't a Ron Paul Dennis Kucinich debate be fun?
Update: Dang, Dennis Kucinich reminds me of a socialist Ron Paul.
Update: Ouch, lots of campaign financing elbows and Hillary has an evil scowl going when BO or JE snipes at her. This is actually pretty nasty and not near as jovial as the GOP debates, few laughs from the audience or applause.
Update: Hillary "cut Defense spending' to pay for her programs.
Update: Obama takes the the gloves off against Hillary over why the GOP is talking about her so much and Edwards jumps in and fundraising comes up.
Update: First break, Hillary is taking some heat on her Iran sanctions vote and she is holding her own there. Diplomacy and change are the key words being used with much Bush bashing.
I know, who cares? I bet as many conservative political junkies will watch as potential Democrat voters just to find avenues of attack. I wonder if Obama, Edwards, Biden, Richardson, Dodd or Kucinich will have the political fortitude to go after Madame Hilari Rodhamovich Clintronsky or will they just pee on the floor and roll over in her prescence. I mean its not like they don't have a massive Halloween bag of dirty candy or is that dirty Hsu's, laundry and dishes to dig into. But to do that would shine a dirty light on the whole dirty party, can't do that.
Here's what I expect to happen, much like how the GOP candidates try to out Reagan each other, I look for them all to say little and pander alot to every loose interest group in their ragtag base and with plenty of chances to bash the GOP and Bush on Schip, basically a socialist panderfest.
I'll update at the breaks or otherwise interesting points.

Project Valour-IT '07

Pick a team, Army, Navy, Air Force or Marines and help them raise the most money to buy voice operated laptop computers for wounded vets, it was the braichild of milbloggers and Soldiers Angels last year and raised a chunck of money. Contribute if you can. If you are a blogger mention it and spread the word.

Morning Must Read

Frank Gaffney reports that the GOP Senate leadership is solidly against the Law of the Sea Treaty or LOST, and has the votes to prevent passage. This idiotic treaty would give control of 80% of the earth to that impeccable group in Turtle Bay, the UN, and give the UN the ability to tax and redistribute the vast resources contained there. It does have a couple good provisions if we lived in a perfect world but we don't so the bad parts far outweigh the good. We need to beat the UN coddling Dems on this one once and for all.

In over 30 years of working in and watching the ways of Washington, I must say, I have never seen anything quite like it.

According to Senator Jon Kyl, the entire Senate Republican leadership is now opposed to a controversial treaty supported by the President and an implausible alliance of special interests – from the U.S. Navy to Greenpeace. At a joint press conference last Wednesday, he was one of several Senators to declare that, as a result, supporters would be unable to muster the necessary 67 votes for ratification of the Law of the Sea Treaty (LOST). Yet, it seems not one of the “establishment” media organs felt moved to report these momentous political developments.

Gimme A Break

American Power has this great John Stossel clip posted debunking Al Gore.

Iraqi Army Donates To SoCal Fire Victims

This is a story you won't find in the MSM, out of gratitude to the Marines helping them based out of Camp Pendelton Iraqi soldiers tossed a thousand bucks into the hat. OpFor has the story.

The money was collected from Iraqi officers and enlisted soldiers in Besmaya. In a speech given during the presentation, Col. Abbass stated that he and the Iraqi soldiers were connected with the American people in many ways, and they will not forget the help that the American government has given the Iraqi people. Abbass was honored to participate by sending a simple fund of $1,000 to the American people in San Diego, to lower the suffering felt by the tragedy

BoSox Are Tough

I don't follow Major League ball like I used too but the Rockies run was not unlike others I have seen, my Braves being one of them, the BoSox are a darn good team, really good team. The Rockies are young, really good and I would expect to see them back here next year. I have to say from what I have seen this is one heckuva BoSox team.
Boston has to be rocking right now with the Patriots undefeated and Brady unstoppable as well, heck even Boston College is undefeated in the BCS.
I guess I shouldn't complain since my family was one of the founding ones of Boston, we have been here since 1623.
Anyway, I ramble, read Bar's post below, it is a doozy as always while being right on the button.

Treason Most Foul

More treason from the 'Israeli'-Arab fifth column. We've seen this before.

From Arutz-7:

Israeli-Arab leaders Sheikh Ra’ad Salah and MK Jamal Zahalka held a rally Saturday threatening Arabs who agree to take part in any Israeli national service.
...
Sheikh Ra’ad Salah, who heads the radical northern branch of the Israeli-Arab Islamic Movement, called upon Israeli-Arabs Saturday to resist any attempts to offer any national service to the Jewish state. This call comes after a declaration earlier this year of an “Israeli-Arab Intifada” in response to construction near the Temple Mount.
...
MK Jamal Zahalka of the Balad Party threatened Israeli-Arabs promising “anyone who volunteers for national service will be treated like a leper, and will be vomited out of Arab society.”

He warned that former PM Ariel Sharon had suggested mandatory national service for Israel’s Arabs and claimed that the current move, which is voluntary, is but a stepping stone toward the drafting of Israel’s Arabs. “They are trying to Israelize our youth,” he said.

The protest took place in Haifa and was organized by a new movement called Balanda – founded and funded by the radical Balad Party, whose chief, former MK Azmi Bishara, is a fugitive, fleeing Israel during an investigation into his assistance of Hizbullah during the Second Lebanon War.

'Israeli'-Arab leaders and their people have shamelessly sided with 'Palestinian' terrorists, carried out hundreds of terrorist attacks, undermined the Jewish State and committed many attacks on Jews. The head of the 'Israeli'-Arab Balad Party, Azmi Bishara, a member of Israel's government has fled to Syria after being exposed for supporting Hizbullah during the the was two summers ago. While the corrupt Israeli establishment carps on about how Israel 'provides equal rights to the Arabs' and 'impoves their living conditions', the Arabs bide their time waiting until they are once again masters of the Land. It is naive and foolish to believe that any Arab can feel loyalty to the Jewish State. The thousand year old Jewish dream has no meaning to the Arab but instead is his nightmare. In the Arab mind, Israel belongs to him and the Jews stole it. The only state that can claim his allegiance is a sharia state, not an Infidel one, especially inhabited by the
'sons of pigs and monkeys', the Jews. The only logical alternative to constant warfare and enmity between Jews and Arabs in Israel is expulsion. There is no room for two states in the Israel. The question is not whether there will only be one state but whether that state will be Israel or 'Palestine'.

Those who delude themselves and speak about 'Islamic tolerance' should read this:

Jews arrived at the Yad Yair synagogue for morning prayers on Friday to the horrific site of Torah scrolls and holy books consumed in a blaze that destroyed the building.

It was the third time in the past 18 months that the synagogue, named in memory of terror victim Yair Mendelson, was burnt down by Arabs. Built more than ten years ago, the Jewish house of worship is located near the Binyamin region community of Dolev, northwest of the Palestinian Authority government seat of Ramallah, in Samaria.

The Arabs also defaced the memorial to Mendelson, who was murdered by Arabs at the beginning of the first intifada in the 1980's. They also destroyed a children’s playground. A torn Israeli flag was placed under a pile of rocks on the approach road.

Most recently the synagogue was attacked last January, with many of the holy books and other sacred items burned, including the Torah scrolls. An adjoining building was also set on fire. Both buildings are located on privately-owned Jewish land.

Three months prior, the synagogue was desecrated by vandals who broke into the building and destroyed its sacred contents. The Binyamin Regional Council suspects Palestinian Authority Arabs have carried out the attacks.

Time and time again, the Arabs have shown that they cannot respect the holy sites of other religions. Think Temple Mount or Kever Yosef, which was torn apart by an angry Arab mob and repainted green to symbolize that 'Islam dominates and is not dominated'. And they should be trusted with a state in half of Eretz Yisrael (G-d forbid)? For every synagogue that they desecrate or burn down, we should build ten more settlements with synagogues at their heart. We should ascend to the top of the Temple Mount and forcibly take it back from the Muslim murderers. Let a synagogue be built at it's top where Jews can worship freely and should the Arabs object, dismantle al-Aksa and return it to Arabia where it belongs. When Israel disengaged from Gush Katif, it left behind the synagogue of the destroyed settlements. In the typical peaceful Muslim fashion, crazed hordes of Mohammedeans tore them apart and they are now used as terrorist training camps.

O nations: Sing the praises of His People, for He will avenge the blood of His Servants; He will bring retribution upon His adversaries, and He will appease His Land [and] His People." Deut. 32:43) May the great and awesome day of Hashem's revenge upon the nations come speedily in our days, amen.

US Wildfires

With the recent inferno in SoCal, the fires in Florida and Georgia fresh on everyone's mind the very kooks that have caused it are now running around blaming it on global warming and not the real causes. The real reasons are the environuts and the insane mismanagement of our forests over the past 60 years or so. Bill Croke has written an excellent essay for The American Thinker that explains the situation out here, I agree with what he has written and it saves me alot of typing so go read his excellent summary.

In 1910 a three million acre firestorm roared through the borderland of Montana and Idaho, the legendary "Big Burn" of forest service lore. After that, it was the policy of the USFS to immediately suppress fires. You could call this the "Smoky the Bear" model, though that cute mascot dates from 1944. This prevailing orthodoxy has been questioned since the 1980s, with some fires in remote areas being allowed to burn in the interest of forest health.

The two schools of forestry clashed during the disastrous Yellowstone fires of 1988, when one third of the national park (1.2 million acres) burned, the conflagration almost taking the venerable Old Faithful Inn. The "let it burn" policy doesn't shine well in the media spotlight, especially in a national park.

Forest health also means logging, at least the thinning of crowded tracts that have too many trees per acre. In the last two decades attempts to log national forest lands has brought on much bad behavior from the Green Left and their -- surprise! -- attorneys. Thousands of harassing lawsuits filed over timber sales have produced in the USFS a self described "analysis paralysis", as environmentalists using litigation clog up an already slow bureaucratic process.

I am a lover of our National Forests and healthy forests are what clean our air and produce the oxygen we need, they are also a valuable, very renewable resource when managed properly. I have been in privately managed forests that were very pristene and logged properly and BLM land in bad need of thinning, some of those have recently burned and are burning as I type. I would rather put up with a few stumps and logging roads in a healthy forest than the dead blackness of a burned one. It takes a decade to begin to recover from that type of inferno, where as low level prescription or natural regular burns are healthy and promote growth. I am glad the Forest Service and Dept. of The Interior are finally waking up but that's government and we all know how that works.

Success In Iraq

As always Frederick Kagan has a must read piece in today's Weekly Standard looking at the hows and whys of our massive successes in recent months and where we go from from here. AQ is defeated in Iraq and the splintered cells are being cleaned up quickly as the people have rejected them and their ideology. As a direct result of this the Shia militias are laying down their arms as well and cooperating with the government. The cycle of violence could always spin back up but I really don't think the people want that, they are tired of it and just want to get back to their lives.

America has won an important battle in the war on terror. We turned an imminent victory for Al Qaeda In Iraq into a humiliating defeat for them and thereby created an opportunity for further progress not only in Iraq, but also in the global struggle. In the past five months, terrorist operations in and around Baghdad have dropped by 59 percent. Car bomb deaths are down by 81 percent. Casualties from enemy attacks dropped 77 percent. And violence during the just-completed season of Ramadan--traditionally a peak of terrorist attacks--was the lowest in three years.

Winning a battle is not the same as winning a war. Our commanders and soldiers are continuing the fight to ensure that al Qaeda does not recover even as they turn their attention to the next battle: against Shia militias sponsored by Iran. Beyond Iraq, battles in Afghanistan and elsewhere demand our attention. But let us properly take stock of what has been accomplished.

Why I Like Mitt Romney

A friend in Boston pointed me to Mitt years ago in arguments on Bill O'Reilly's forums when he was first running for Gov., Lisa, now one of my cobloggers. I looked and researched and was totally persuaded by her arguments to give him a double take and this was in '02-'03. Yea Mitt has moved to the right on some key social issues but isn't that a good thing given the deep conservatism of his faith? I don't see Mitt swerving left once elected, he is clean as a whistle and just as sharp, he is leading in all the early states, I don't understand the reluctance over this outstanding candidate.
Anyway, Jeanne Cummings writing for The Politico has a very good feature article on my man Mitt Romney and highlights the reasons why he is the GOP's best man. I urge you to read it, it explains many of my reasons very well.

Mitt Romney built a fortune by taking over troubled companies and making the tough business decisions and shrewd financial adjustments to turn them into winning investments for himself and investors in his firm, Bain Capital.

In similar ways, Romney is applying the same tactics in his quest to win the 2008 Republican Party primary and the White House.

And, as we enter the final push before primary votes are cast, Romney has accomplished a remarkable objective: He has gone from being a little-known governor of a liberal-leaning Democratic state to the leading Republican candidate in public opinion polls in both critical early-primary states, New Hampshire and Iowa.

I honestly don't understand the reluctance to get behind Mitt. He has foresworn salary and signed a pledge to not raise taxes, he wants to give back to his country that has given he and his family so much with his much needed talents. Mitt knows how to manage big money and I would love for him to get his hands on DC and the Swamp. Bingo, do you see the opposition light now, you should, the porkbusters in congress support Mitt, led by Jim DeMint, the old dogs Fred, the emotional Rudy. Do you want a President that will clean up Washinton cess pools? Support Mitt Romney.

Hillary Chows And Hsus And Chinese Mafia, Oh My

Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy, this Hsu business is really getting good, lots of heels, remember all those secrets the ChiComs were able to get a hold of in the '90s.
Lee Carey takes a closer look over at AmSpec .

When the Wall Street Journal broke the Yuan Yuen "Norman" Hsu story, some likened Norman to "Johnny" Chung and "Charlie" Trie, and wondered if the Peoples Republic of China (PRC) was passing money again to the Clintons. Now, with the Los Angeles Times' story about Clinton's fundraising in New York City's Chinatown, there's another question to consider: Is the Clinton campaign a target of Asian criminal groups looking for political influence?

Read the whole thing, the witch's web is wide.

Democrats Plans To Rape The Taxpayers

Their new tax bill will destroy our economy, thank God we have the new media and Reps like John Campbell to let us know what is going on . The Democrats want hundreds of billions in new taxes to pay for their new socialist state. Here is just a snip, go check out the rest.

The Republican Staff on the Ways and Means Committee put this fact sheet together, I feel it is quite enlightening, and wanted to share it with you.

When Chairman Rangel introduced his long-awaited tax legislation yesterday morning, there were certain things he conveniently forgot to mention. Among the things the Democratic Majority doesn’t want you to know about the “Mother of All Tax Hikes”:

1. MARRIAGE PENALTY ON STEROIDS: The bill imposes a surtax of 4% on single filers with incomes above $150,000 and $200,000 for married couples filing jointly. After years of fighting efforts to repeal the marriage penalty, the Majority is taking the battle to a new level by putting a massive new marriage penalty into the tax code.

2. KISS YOUR DEDUCTIONS GOODBYE: The surtax is imposed on adjusted gross income, not taxable income. That may sound like an arcane difference, but it is an important one. Now, when filling out your tax return, you add up your income to get your adjusted gross income and then subtract deductions for things like charitable contributions, mortgage interest, state and local taxes, medical expenses, un-reimbursed business expenses, or your standard deduction. But the surtax is applied to the AGI before you take deductions. So it has the effect of taxing people on items that they can ordinarily deduct.

Game II: Go Rockies

A little late tuning in but it is 1-0 Rocks in the 4th, heck its where the game usually starts
Ubdate: Can Rockies pitching staff hold up?
Update: Rockies pitchers are barely holding and against truely talented BoSox hitters, quite a lineup to face, 2-1 Sox, top of the 7th.
Rockies hold them , headed into the 8th. That Okajima reminds me of Greg Maddux, very crafty and dang good at his craft.

Why Not To Like Mike Huckabee: Updated

He gives a good speech and knows how to tell a joke and is socially conservative, so why aren't Republicans rallying behind him. Quinn Hilyer over at Amspec outlines his many foibles in Arkansas, that's why. The MSM is fawning over him now so they can savage him later and believe me Madame Hillary will have a docier a mile thick on him to cover up her own malfeasences. Voila and then with the MSM's help she will roll out the meat cart and the howl of corruption will go up, if he were to somehow gain the GOP nomination. That is why we can't get behind him and why he can't get any traction.

Fourteen times, the ethics commission -- a respected body, not a partisan witch-hunt group -- investigated claims against Huckabee. Five of those times, it officially reprimanded him. And, as only MSNBC among the big national media has reported at any real length, there were lots of other mini-scandals and embarrassments along the way.

He used public money for family restaurant meals, boat expenses, and other personal uses. He tried to claim as his own some $70,000 of furniture donated to the governor's mansion. He repeatedly, and obstinately, against the pleadings even from conservative columnists and editorials, refused to divulge the names of donors to a "charitable" organization he set up while lieutenant governor -- an outfit whose main charitable purpose seemed to be to pay Huckabee to make speeches. Then, as a kicker, he misreported the income itself from the suspicious "charity."

Huckabee has been criticized, reasonably so, for misusing the state airplane for personal reasons. And he and his wife, Janet, actually set up a "wedding gift registry" (they had already been married for years) to which people could donate as the Huckabees left the governorship, in order to furnish their new $525,000 home

Update: From two other influential and popular conservatives, John Fund in today's OPJ and Pat Toomey in NRO.

Some Clinton Gossip About The Power Couple: Link Fixed

Is Osama Getting Desparate About Iraq ?

Bill Roggio has a couple posts looking at OBL's latest missive to his brothers in murder in Iraq. He admits mistakes and laments that his jihad is getting its ass kicked in Iraq and Afganistan not only by our forces but by the locals, poor guy. Not only that but it appears the Bhutto and Musharef are united in crushing AQ in Pakistan. Bhutto has supporters among the local Taliban which originated there, the Taliban are local, AQ is OBL's small army of outsiders and some local thugs that have found shelter among these rugged tribesmen, they have different goals and ideologies and the rift is growing as locals are losing the stomach for AQ's brand of Islam. The next few monthes are going to be interesting as OBL's circle gets smaller and smaller he has nowhere to go but Iran where he would basically be under house arrest unable to preach his radical wahabist suni in a radical shia state. He would have a tough time getting to Africa now with the price on his head same with Mullah Omar and Zawahiri. His recruits are getting sent to satan by the thousands a month and inflicting little if any real damage to Coalition forces and we have no way of knowing how many of the wounded die later or can't fight anymore or are killed by their leader when they try to quit.
Go read Bill's posts plus there is always lots of other news at his Long War Journal.

Ahnuld Smacks Down a Snippy Reporter

She kept trying to get the Governater to say he didn't have enough resources to fight the fires. I have to say I am impressed at how smoothly the evacuations and shelters are being run. Unfortunately/fortunately in the land of firestorms and earthquakes our First Responders get plenty of practice at it and are amazingly good at it. The people knew what to do as a precaution to living where they do, they knew where to go and were prepared, neighbor helping neighbor no squabbling or whining just doing what needs to be done.Hattip: Matt Lewis

SoCal Burns Again: Bumped And Updated

Picture from the Gulbransens' blog, a family living the horror.

Pray for the folks in Orange, San Diego and San Bernardino counties as they live through yet more hellish fires powered by the Santa Anna winds or devil winds as these fires happen almost every year. This has been one very expensive fire season this year when combined with the Tahoe fire earlier this year as hundreds of expensive homes have been destroyed and these fires are zero percent contained. I am hearing that hundreds of thousands of folks are being evacuated, this is not good as most of San Diego county could burn in this conflagration. I understand two of the worst are the result of arson, I don't have words for folks that would do that. Thank the Lord only one person has perished.
If you are down there and are a reader of the Barnyard please email me or post in the comments your observations.

Update: Blogger buddy Don at American Power lives down there and has a post up.
Michelle Malkin is also covering it with links to other SoCal bloggers covering this horrible story.
Update: Here is a map showing the scope of the fires, ouch, it is a massive area hundreds of square miles.
Update: It didn't take long before the moonbats started blaming President Bush
Update: From another blogger friend in San Diego.
She emails" We're good. It's missed us so far. We're just south of the Witch Creek fire--the really big one. It's smoky and the air quality sucks, but we're fine so far. I need to put some of the pictures up that we took last night. It's like hell in the south."
Update:Hugh Hewitt lives in the southland as well and points to Kithbridge.

What's Good About Hillary

It is kind of funny that Hillary may be the best thing to happen for the GOP since Reagan, for opposite reasons of course, but she unites us and divides the DNC's loose coalition of interest groups. Cynthia McKinney is going to run Green Party and pull alot of the 'truthers', anti-war, global warming, socialist, fruits and nuts away from the DNC, Momma Sheehan and the Code Pinkos will be behind her as well. They are going into meltdown and we are having a very healthy vigorous and informative debate over a wide range of new Ideas and policies, a good thing.
Yea we are having a slightly bruising primary run between a half dozen very smart and very capable candidates, and a even larger raft of equally talented folks to pull from for VEEP. Let the best man win, with the honor it deserves. I know there have been some elbows thrown here and there, but notice that they are all about policy, not personal, and if they are its more of a joke than a jab, ribbing not deriding. Rudy evens jokes on his private life but will shred you if you dare to attack him there. Mitt gets ribbed on some cock-eyed statements he made in the past on social issues. Fred on his seeming sleepiness and laziness. John takes the immigration hit and McCain-Feingold as does Fred. Mike for fundraising and problems running the state as Gov. The important thing is we all know that but they all have very good Ideas about how to get things done even Dr. Paul has alot to offer to the debate, some very good, some wacky. To top it off we have Newt Gingrich, Mr Idea Man, with his American Solutions Project stirring up the conversation while running around the country speaking to huge audiences.
Meanwhile we have the Democrat leadership in the Congress making a total mess of things and are going into meltdown on a global warming scale, while Rep. Boehner and Sen. McConnell are running circles around them, their vast nutroots are boiling way over the line in the realm of hate retoric into a putrid gas vent from realms one doesn't want to know.
I know they are raising a bunch of money but most of the GOP money men are letting the primary guys duke it out and as soon as the primaries are over the beat Hillary money spigot will be turned on.
The way I see things we got bitch slapped last year and we got up off the mat and have been winning ever since and now they are whining crying about us getting up and fighting back, tough.
We should pick up our heads up my friends in the conservative movement and place our eyes on the future and the prize. Even if you don't support Mitt Romney, as I do, at least get infected by his optimism in America while recognizing the dangers ahead. Mount up my friends it is going to be a long hard ride and we can get there, but we Have to stay together.

War Progress

Jeff Emanuel has a must read two part series of posts up at American Thinker that are must reads and warns not to be to ready to declare victory and while optimistic points out that there is a tremendous amount of work to still be done. He has embedded twice this year for extended periods and fought in the '91 war.
Part one is here and part two here.

Many Many Thanks

I wish I had the hours to visit all my blogging friends everyday but the Lord only gives us so many hours. Y'all are all awesome and I feel very blessed to have so many wonderful friends in all corners of America and the world at large. All I can offer is a very big and heart felt THANK YOU !!!!!!!!!!!!

Support Mike Yon!!!!

He has a new campaign going offering his dispatches for free to the MSM if they want to post the truth from the ground in Iraq. He also wants to revamp his site to be provided in 17 different languages, I wish I could do more than support him here but as a new business bucks are short and needed to the dime. I wrote Bill Roggio a while back and he responded that my blogger support was just as important as cash in gaining support and spreading the word so I do whatever I can, I have both as RSS feeds on my sidebar for all to see. If you have the means Mike needs to raise about $100,000 to accomplish his goals, help him if you can. He has spent as much time as many of our troops in the danger zone and reports the truth, his fans are legion and we need to help him launch to further heights. I for one await the book he will write after this battle for Iraq as we know he will, with so much he has gathered from the frontlines.

The brainchild of David Horowitz and Robert Spencer launches this week to the consternation of the moonbats, Michelle Malkin has the goods. I for one thinks this is a very good idea and will follow the events as best I can as they go on a speaking whirlwind tour.

Body and Soul

From YNet News:

The Waqf's director-general Adnan al-Husseini said his decision to shun the committee's invitation [to compile a report about the Wakf's illegal excavations on the Temple Mount] was dictated by the Waqf's year-long policy. "The Waqf does not acknowledge Israel's authority in Jerusalem or the Temple Mount…the Waqf boycotts Israeli politicians all the time."

Al-Husseini stressed that he did not intend to attend any formal meeting on the issue of the Temple Mount dig. "This is an Islamic issue that the Muslims should decide upon."

Al-Husseini implies that Jews have no business about what Islamic authorities decide to do with the Temple Mount an 'Islamic holy site'. In the past few months, the Islamic wakf has been carrying out unauthorized excavations on the Temple Mount and even went so far as to intentionally destroy an uncovered wall dating from the First Temple period. Israeli archaeologists have discovered that Wakf officials have been dumping priceless ancient articles such as the bells that the priests wore in the Kidron valley. Jerusalem District Archaeologist Yuval Baruch uncovered fragments of ceramic table wares, animal bones, and more. The finds date from the 8th to 6th centuries BCE; the First Temple existed between the 9th and 5th centuries BCE, having been built by King Solomon in 832 and destroyed in 422 BCE. The finds include fragments of bowl rims, bases and body sherds, the base of a juglet used for the ladling of oil, the handle of a small juglet, and the rim of a storage jar. The bowl sherds were decorated with wheel burnishing lines characteristic of the First Temple Period.

It has been standard policy for the past few decades of Wakf and Palestinian officials to deny that there ever even was a Jewish Temple in Jerusalem. To support their ridiculous claim, they have been destroying proof of the Temple. By doing this, they are able to tell the world that the Jews are colonialist invaders and that the "Palestinians" are the true indigenous people. The Midrash long ago said "Eretz Yisrael is the navel of the world, and Jerusalem is its center, and the Beit HaMikdash is at the center of Jerusalem, and the Holy of Holies is at its center, and the Holy Ark is at the center of the Holy of holies, and in front of it is the Foundation Stone on which the world was founded." It is truely the heart and soul of our nation. Three times a day, we face Jerusalem in prayer and beseech Hashem 'that our eyes may behold Your return to Zion in mercy'. For 2000 years, we ended our Passover Seders, Yom Kippur fasts and Sukkot celebrations with the words 'Next Year in Jerusalem!'. Just as Catholicism is focused in Rome and Islam is centred in Mecca, Jerusalem is the soul of Israel. Without it, we are a body without spirit.

Jerusalem is never mentionned in the Qur'an while it is mentionned over 800 times in the Jewish Bible. The Islamic connection to Jerusalem revoles around a singular verse which some interpret to refer to Jerusalem. 'Glory to (Allah) Who did take His servant for a Journey by night from the Sacred Mosque to the farthest Mosque, whose precincts We did bless,- in order that We might show him some of Our Signs: for He is the One Who heareth and seeth (all things)'. (17:001). The 'Farthest Mosque' in Arabic is al-aksa, hence the name of the current Muslim abomination sitting on the Mount. However, during the 7th century when Muhammad supposedly was transported to Jerusalem, there was no mosque on the Mount since Islam had not yet conquered Jerusalem. The only reason why the Temple Mount has become important in Islam is religious imperialism, to deny Jews legitimacy and rights over their most sacred site. It is in this sense that Avraham Avinu (read Parshat Lech-Lecha for proof that Avraham was most definitely a Jew) is called a Muslim in the Qur'an or why Muslims converted one of the greatest churches in Eastern Orthodox Christianity, the Hagia Sophia, into a mosque.

The true vilains are the Israeli government, corrupt collaborators with the vile Wakf. On the orders of the government, Jews suffer discrimination on the Mount. Jews must obtain special permission to ascend and religious articles are confiscated. A request to build a synagogue on the Mount was rejected while a proposal by the king of Jordan to build a new minaret, which symbolize Islamic supremacy, was accepted. Our ancestors, weeping over their exile by the rivers of Babylon, vowed "if I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand wither, let my tongue cleave to my palate if I do not remember you, if I do not set Jerusalem above my highest joy." (Psalm 137: 5-7) and now the Israeli government is gladly turning over our most sacred site, our birthright.

I'll end on a positive note, with the first Priestly Blessing being recited on the Mount since the beginning of the exile over 2000 years ago.
From Arutz-7:

A historic first: Last week, during a special visit to the Temple Mount, the Priestly Blessing (Numbers 6:24-26) was recited there, for arguably the first time since the 1st-century destruction of the Second Temple.

The Blessing is recited daily in synagogues in Israel by descendants of Aaron the Priest, but only on festivals in most synagogues in the Diaspora.

On the Temple Mount: During the Priestly Blessing, the "Kohanim" raise their hands.
www.TempleInstitute.org
The special visit was held to commemorate the 842nd anniversary of Maimonides's famous visit to the Temple Mount, Judaism's holiest site. A group of some 25 Jews, organized by the Temple Institute in Jerusalem, marked the special day with a commemorative visit. Giving extra-special meaning to the occasion was a spontaneous Priestly Blessing delivered to the group by Yehuda Katz, the lead singer of the Reva L'Sheva band, and Eliezer Breuer, originally of the former Soviet Union and now from Kiryat Arba.

Rabbi Chaim Richman, one of the organizers of the trip, said, "This was probably the first time since the destruction of the Temple [1,937 years ago] that the Priestly Blessing was delivered on our holiest site. At times like these, when there is talk of giving away our precious places, and when despair is sometimes in the air, events of this nature serve to remind us that G-d has not forgotten about us, and that He still has big plans for both us and the Holy Temple - and that the Temple will yet become the focal point of the world once again."

Fox GOP Debate Tonight In Florida

This was by far the best debate yet with the candidates mixing it up a bit, who won? I would say the GOP as all turned in strong performances though the best part was Ron Paul getting boos and jeers on some of his anti-war gibberish and it noticeably shook him a bit and he didn't bring it up again. While I am a Mitt Romney supporter I could easily and proudly support our nominee after the primaries be it who it may. I have to say a Romney/ Huckabee ticket would be pretty persuasive as would any combination of the leaders. Like I said I think the GOP was the winner in this debate, a very good thing since the DNC is boycotting Florida.
No wonder the Democrat candidates refuse to debate on FOX, The questions were tough and wide ranging with plenty of interaction among the candidates, Carl Cameron even wanted to defend one of his questions. The jabs were all good humored and some were pretty good and handled well by the receivers, and they all jabbed Madame Hillary and the Dems quite well. The crowd was active and loud for all except Dr. Paul on more than a few occasions.
How did I solve the debate versus the AL Pennant chase, I watched the debate on the computer and the game on TV, debate's over and only in the 4th inning so I got both. I don't have a dog in this hunt but I have to wonder what kind of bet Hugh Hewitt, Indians, and Dean Barnett, BoSox, have. I am rooting for the Rockies as a NLer and Braves fan, but I really like the Colorado Rockies and their open Christianity, team prayer and Bible study. Who knows I may change my allegiance from Atlanta.

Some Common Sense On Global Warming

This is a must read from Daniel Botkin, a biologist and ecologist, in the OPJ. He does not argue that it is not happening just disputes that it will be as bad as Al Gore and others would like to panic us into believing. I don't dispute we may be warming a little either after all we are recovering from a mini iceage. Man cannot control the climate in any significant way and we shouldn't be wasting billions of dollars and ruining economies trying to is what he and Bjorn Lomborg are saying when that money could be put to much better use solving real problems we can have an affect on. We can slow the deforestation that does cause the loss of species by helping build the countries economies up where this is happening not by preventing them access to cheap energy but by helping them in the realms of technology and economics. I am all for clean and green just not draconian paniced socialistic measures that would force the third world into even deeper poverty and more rapid deforestation, but these are the same folks pushing this that think there are too many people on earth as it is and would love to see millions die.

Should we therefore dismiss global warming? Of course not. But we should make a realistic assessment, as rationally as possible, about its cultural, economic and environmental effects. As Erik the Red might have told you, not everything due to a climatic warming is bad, nor is everything that is bad due to a climatic warming.
We should approach the problem the way we decide whether to buy insurance and take precautions against other catastrophes--wildfires, hurricanes, earthquakes. And as I have written elsewhere, many of the actions we would take to reduce greenhouse-gas production and mitigate global-warming effects are beneficial anyway, most particularly a movement away from fossil fuels to alternative solar and wind energy.

My concern is that we may be moving away from an irrational lack of concern about climate change to an equally irrational panic about it.

Many of my colleagues ask, "What's the problem? Hasn't it been a good thing to raise public concern?" The problem is that in this panic we are going to spend our money unwisely, we will take actions that are counterproductive, and we will fail to do many of those things that will benefit the environment and ourselves.

And from Bjorn Lomborg in NRO.
Gore tells us that we need to hear the voices of the future speaking to us now. We have to imagine them asking: What were you thinking? Didn’t you care about our future? He is absolutely right.

Do we want future generations to say that we have spent trillions of dollars and perhaps done a little good for rich people in a hundred years? Or do we want future generations to thank us for giving billions of poor people a new beginning and a better life, which will enable them to better deal with whatever challenges the future holds?

In other words, do we just want to feel good, or do we actually want to do good?

Hot Pictures

Need an unflattering picture of Madame Hillary to grace your unflattering blog posts about her, well Zombietime is building an archive we are free to use of some great ones. She seems to be nearly as bug eyed as Nancy Pelosi and seems to have taken to the botox of late and has a Hollywood level make up artist for televised appearances to hide all those wrinkles.
Blogger is not letting post pictures right now or I would post a couple of them but if you ever visit HotAir and have seen some of the ones they use, they aren't photoshopped.

More Hillary Funny Fundraising

Now she is raising hundreds of thousands from poor folks in some of NYC's poorest asian neighborhoods, The LA Times, surprise, tried to track down some of the listed donors and found false addresses, and folks that said they had never donated or couldn't due to immigration status that had supposedly donated a cool thousand or two.(Hattip: HotAir)

Many of Clinton’s Chinatown donors said they had contributed because leaders in neighborhood associations told them to. In some cases, donors said they felt pressure to give…
The Times examined the cases of more than 150 donors who provided checks to Clinton after fundraising events geared to the Chinese community. One-third of those donors could not be found using property, telephone or business records. Most have not registered to vote, according to public records.
And several dozen were described in financial reports as holding jobs — including dishwasher, server or chef — that would normally make it difficult to donate amounts ranging from $500 to the legal maximum of $2,300 per election.

Remember Norman Hsu, well he was a Trustee at The New School in NYC which just got an ear mark for $950,000 from the taxpayers thanks to his beneficiaries Hillary Clinton and Chuck Schumer and don't forget the cool mil to the hippie museum. That woman has some serious ethics problems and is as corrupt as an arctic winter night is long.

I would say we have until the DNC Convention to bring her down to her knees, it won't be easy but we gotta do it.

Dang those Democrats have gotten good at this accepting bribes to fleece the taxpares to benefit a big donor/briber or family member, to bad a few Republicans got cought up in the fun and ruined our brand in the Abramoff scandal. Its a big stink in a neighbor district to mine with John Doolittle in what should be a very secure GOP seat and he put it at risk though claims no wrongdoing. Thats a big difference in the two parties, the DNC slaps its wrong doers on the wrist and moves them to the front of the bus, the GOP throws ours under the bus, as we should. Get your heads up my friends and put your eyes on the future, its waiting for us, all we have to do is take it. We have the message and the new ideas, all they have is the failed old policies of the past and no message other than more government, the last thing we need.

Update: Mitt Romney/Duncan Hunter '08 ! Well, that is what I think anyway.

FRC Conference: Updated

I listening to some of the speeches by presidential candidates and others and so far the most powerful and best speakers have been Star Parker and Rabbi Daniel Lapin of Toward Tradition. I have enjoyed reading Rabbi Lapin many times but had never heard him speak and wow is he good, humor, powerful imagery, highly intellectual and charismatic. He talks about America rooted in the Bible and how our founders all knew Hebrew so they could read the Bible in its original language, it seems ancient Israel played an important role in our very foundations as a Nations. I would go to Synogogue just to hear him speak, far better than any sermon I have heard in church.

Star Parker is a dynamo with a compelling life story, from the dregs of multiple abortions, drugs, crime and welfare to speak here on God the Bible and life issues. As a black women that has been there and done that she now works to restore the black family and save her people from the fate she once suffered.

Update: Mitt Romney just got done speaking and got far more applause than McCain, Fred Thompson and Ron Paul combined, the only other candidates I heard though I hear Tancredo gave a barnburner, and almost coronation type music at the close. This was Mitt's element talking God, country and family and the crowd ate it up, he was on with every line getting cheers and applause and came across as concerned but upbeat and positive, Fred and John were subdued and downbeat, and Ron Paul was great till he got to the war effort. I like alot of what Dr. Paul has to say, he is just so backwards on what I don't like, like the war effort and I think the crowd agreed with me.

Parshat Lech-Lecha

This is one of my favourite parshiot, Lech-Lecha. This week's parsha begins with G-d's commands to Avraham (known at this time as Avram) Lech-Lecha: 'Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto the land that I will show thee. And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and be thou a blessing. And I will bless them that bless thee, and him that curseth thee will I curse; and in thee shall all the families of the earth be blessed.' (Genesis 12:1-3)

Without even knowing the destination, only 'the land that I will show thee', Avraham left his birthplace of Haran at Hashem's command to live in Canaan. Avraham, at the age of 3 had recognized Hashem's presence in this word and begun to tell people that the son, the moon nor any other object was divine and that G-d alone was to be worshipped.

Avraham’s father, Terach, owned an idol workshop. Terach, traveling on business, left Avraham in charge of his factory. Avraham, fuming with disgust at the idols that his father worshipped, took a hammer and smashed all of them except for the biggest one. He placed the hammer in its hand and an offering before it. When Terach returned, he asked Avraham in a rage what had happened to his gods. Avraham calmly answered that he had placed an offering before the idols and the biggest one had destroyed all of the smaller ones in order to get it. Terach pounded his fist angrily on the desk and exclaimed, “You are lying! Idols cannot move or eat!” Then Avraham said, “How could you be so senseless as to worship and idol which cannot even save himself? How could he hear your prayers? How have you forgotten G-d who created you?”

Terach rushed to Nimrod’s palace to tell him that Avraham had revolted against the state religion. Nimrod gathered all of the princes and governors of the neighbouring lands and tried Avraham before them. He ordered that Avraham be thrown into a furnace and burned alive for his blasphemy. Three days later, when Nimrod’s servants opened the furnace to take out the criminal’s charred body, they saw that Avraham was still alive. He explained, “The G-d of heaven and earth, in whom I trust and who owns everything, rescued me from the fire”.

After G-d promises Avraham the entire land of Canaan eternally for his descendants, Avraham asked G-d, "0 Lord God, what will You give me, since I am going childless, and the steward of my household is Eliezer of Damascus?" And Abram said, "Behold, You have given me no seed, and behold, one of my household will inherit me." And behold, the word of the Lord came to him, saying, "This one will not inherit you, but the one who will spring from your innards-he will inherit you." And He took him outside, and He said, "Please look heavenward and count the stars, if you are able to count them." And He said to him, "So will be your seed." (Genesis 15:2-5)

G-d says to Avraham habeit, look towards the heavens. Habeit in Hebrew denotes looking downward. Rashi explains on this verse "And He took him outside" according to its midrashic interpretation, He said to him,“Go out of your astrology,” for you have seen in the signs of the zodiac that you are not destined to have a son. Indeed, Abram will have no son, but Abraham will have a son. Similarly, Sarai will not give birth, but Sarah will give birth. I will give you another name, and your destiny will change (Ned. 32a, Gen. Rabbah 44:10). Another explanation: He took him out of the terrestrial sphere and lifted him above the stars. This explains the expression of ×”ַבָּטָ×”, looking down from above (Gen. Rabbah 44:12). This is Jewish history in a nutshell- we are outside of the Zodiac. G-d lifts the Jewish people out of reality, out of logic, of realism. Logically, the Jewish people should have died out like any other ancient people. Martk Twain wrote of the Jews, "The Egyptian, the Babylonian, and the Persian rose, filled the planet with sound and splendor, then . . . passed away. The Greek and the Roman followed. The Jew saw them all, beat them all, and is now what he always was, exhibiting no decadence, no infirmities of age, no weakening of his parts. … All things are mortal but the Jew; all other forces pass, but he remains. What is the secret of his immortality?" The secret of our immortality is that Israel is not confined to the terrestrial sphere but that we surpass and overcome it. Neither exile, pogrom, expulsion, Crusade, Inquisition, Holocaust or jihad can destroy us.

Finally, after all of the events that transpire after Avraham's departure from Haran, G-d said to him "I am the Lord, Who brought you forth from Ur of the Chaldees, to give you this land to inherit it." And he said, "0 Lord God, how will I know that I will inherit it?" And He said to him, "Take for Me three heifers and three goats and three rams, and a turtle dove and a young bird." And he took for Him all these, and he divided them in the middle, and he placed each part opposite its mate, but he did not divide the birds. And the birds of prey descended upon the carcasses, and Abram drove them away. Now the sun was ready to set, and a deep sleep fell upon Abram, and behold, a fright, a great darkness was falling upon him. And He said to Abram, "You shall surely know that your seed will be strangers in a land that is not theirs, and they will enslave them and oppress them, for four hundred years. And also the nation that they will serve will I judge, and afterwards they will go forth with great possessions. But you will come to your forefathers in peace; you will be buried in a good old age. And the fourth generation will return here, for the iniquity of the Amorites will not be complete until then." Now it came to pass that the sun had set, and it was dark, and behold, a smoking furnace and a fire brand, which passed between these parts. On that day, the Lord formed a covenant with Abram, saying, "To your seed I have given this land, from the river of Egypt until the great river, the Euphrates river. The Kenites, the Kenizzites, and the Kadmonites, And the Hittites and the Perizzites and the Rephaim, And the Amorites and the Canaanites and the Girgashites and the Jebusites." (Genesis 15:8-20)

Rashi comments on the verse "but he did not divide the birds" Since the idol-worshipping nations are likened to bulls, rams, and goats, as it is said (Ps. 22:13): “Many bulls surrounded me, etc.,” and Scripture states (Dan. 8:20): “The ram that you saw, the one with horns, represents the kings of Media and Persia,” and Scripture states (ibid. verse 21): “And the he-goat is the king of Greece.” And the Israelites are likened to young doves, as it is said (Song of Songs 2:14): “My dove, in the clefts of the rock.” Therefore, he divided the animals, as an allusion that the nations will gradually perish. “But he did not divide the bird,” as an allusion that Israel will exist forever. [from Pirkei d’Rabbi Eliezer , ch. 28; Targum. Ps. 22: 13] The birds of prey sought to descend upon the carcasses, upon Israel and to devour it but Avraham drove them away. In the same way that the birds of prey were driven away, so will the wicked nations that try to destroy the Eternal Nation. G-d's people have His promise of protection and that they will inherit the land. Despite all of the troubles in the world today, rest assured that all of Nasrallahs, Ahmadinejads, all of the EUs, UNs, Condies and Bushes cannot overule G-d's promise to Avraham. We will overcome our enemies and inherit the land of Israel. The nations that hate Israel will perish but Israel will exist forever.

But My people did not heed My voice; Israel did not want [to listen to] Me. So I sent them away for the willfulness of their heart, for following their [evil] design. If only My people would listen to Me, if Israel would only walk in My ways, then I would quickly subdue their enemies, and turn My hand against their oppressors. Those who hate the Lord would shrivel before Him, and the time [of their retribution] shall be forever. I would feed him [Israel] with the finest of wheat, and sate you with honey from the rock. (Psalm 81:12-17) Speedily in our days, Hashem, speedily in our days.

Evangelicals For Mitt Romney

Mitt Romney had a great week picking up three huge endorsements from major Evangelical leaders, Bob Jones III,another from a Dean of of Bob Jones University and Dr. Wayne Grudem, plus James Bopp is already part of the campaign and Al Mohler has good things to say about him. A snip from Dr. Grudem's endorcement today in Townhall. Read the whole thing if you are still on the fence about supporting Mitt and you will see why I have for years.

The situation as it looks today: Apart from Romney, I don’t think there is any other solidly conservative candidate who can beat Giuliani in the primaries. As for McCain and Thompson, they are not reliably conservative. Among the “second-tier” candidates, there are some good men with solid positions, but they have not generated much support. With the early primary schedule nearly upon us it isn’t reasonable to hope that one of them will suddenly “take off.” There is not enough time now to build sufficient funding and a large enough support structure before January.

So it seems to me that if evangelicals don’t support Romney in a significant way, Giuliani will be the Republican candidate. So then we will have a pro-abortion, pro-gay rights candidate who is on his third marriage and had a messy affair prior to his divorce from his second wife. Then we will lose any high moral ground and the enthusiasm of the evangelical vote (many of whom will just sit it out), and the difference between Giuliani and Clinton will be only one of degrees as he shifts leftward in the general election to appeal to the “middle.” So then if we lose, we lose, and even if we win, we lose on the crucial moral issues of abortion and protection of marriage. Romney is a much better choice. But he needs evangelical support now if he is going to win.

Tax Money For A Hippie Museum

Several bloggers are pointing to this Bob Novak article on some of the nutty earmarks coming out of Congress as they mark up appropriation bills. Why does the billionair founder of the Woodstock hippie museum need a million bucks from the taxpayers for? Oh because he has given heavily to the Democrats and donated the max to Madame Hillary the earmark's sponsor.

Would the Democratic-controlled Senate approve a $1 million earmark to celebrate Woodstock-era baby boomers, carved out of a bill funding health care and education? It would because it is sponsored by New York's influential senators, Hillary Clinton and Charles Schumer. It would because they promote the pet project of a big-time Democratic campaign contributor.

Nevertheless, as the Senate began consideration Wednesday of the Labor-HHS-Education appropriations bill, Republican Sen. Tom Coburn of Oklahoma proposed an amendment to eliminate the earmark. The $1 million goes to the performing arts center of the Bethel Museum in Liberty, N.Y., the site of the original 1969 Woodstock Festival. Coburn argues that a "taxpayer-funded Woodstock flashback" cuts into the government's Education for Homeless Children and Youth grants.

GOP prospects for '08 are looking better and better with an 11% approval rating for the hypercorrupt Dem led Congress and the supracorrupt Hillary Clinton as their leader for POTUS. The GOP is beating them like a drum on important votes and seems to be returning to its roots as the adult party after the display this week by the Democrats on the Schip votes. The Dems aren't the party for the children they are the party of whiney spoiled children.

Broadcast Far and Wide: Update

We must make it viral !!!

Update: Seven things to know about the Clintons.

Update: More Democrat fund raisers indicted for fraud and bribery.

Update: Gateway Pundit has more on the Peter Paul case.

Update: Why are Edwards and Obama scared of Hillary?

Interesting

I like this post from another Jewish friend of the Barnyard, this a great story as Yehudi tells it, miracles are real.

One soldier, a kibbutznik and a lawyer in civilian life, relayed an incredible miracle. A group of soldiers were gathered in anempty house in a Lebanese village when one of them forgetfully lit a cigarette. Hezbollah terrorists immediately noticed the light and fired an anti-tank missile at the house. Coincidentally, two horses from the village ran in front of the house and were hit and killed. The missile, deflected by the horses, veered away from the house, landing elsewhere. Incredibly, the horses miraculously saved the soldiers inside the house.

Bad News: Deaths Drop Cemetary Workers Hardest Hit

I swear the MSM or in this case McClatchy can't report good news without a negative tilt to it. Is this nutty article they lament that cemetary and morgue workers are losing their jobs as the death toll continues to drop in Iraq.

By Jay Price and Qasim Zein, McClatchy Newspapers
Tue Oct 16, 2:40 PM ET

NAJAF, Iraq — At what's believed to be the world's largest cemetery, where Shiite Muslims aspire to be buried and millions already have been, business isn't good.

A drop in violence around Iraq has cut burials in the huge Wadi al Salam cemetery here by at least one-third in the past six months, and that's cut the pay of thousands of workers who make their living digging graves, washing corpses or selling burial shrouds.

Government Healthcare

Rudy Guilliani recently joked in a debate that if we were to impose Hillarycare/singlepayer government controlled healthcare "Where would the Canadiens go for treatment?" Well it is closer to the truth than many supporters of socialist medicine would ever admit besides its enormous cost to taxpayers it doesn't work. Yea we have our problems but most of them could be solved with tort reform, billing transparency and reducing regulations and mandates on insurance companies, free market reforms not bigger less efficient government take over. I mean look what its done for our public schools. This little video clip will give you an idea how bad it is in Canada with its rationed care and I could dig up dozens of articles about Britain's and France's system as well.

A Must Read

This is from one of my coblogger Bar's friends in Israel and is a beautiful powerful post.

The long history of a people that sprouts from a single family, thirty seven centuries ago, is not free from the onslaught of recurrent threats to its very existence. The great paradox of its survival, the Jewish People is instructed not to rely on miracles, yet survives through a permanent miracle.

Within the scope of memory, a memory of witnesses and protagonists still alive as these lines are being written, two major instances have defied the survival of the children of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob: the Holocaust, and Assimilation. These two palpable realities sum up the two necessary elements necessary for Jewish survival: the physical and the spiritual realms.

The Hillary Video She Doesn't Want You To See: Bumped For Good Reason Spread it Far And Wide!!!

Update: This is bumped up from yesterday so scroll down for new posts. Is this what we want to return to in the Whitehouse?

This is the video linked in this mornings post on the biggest fundraising scandle in history, she deserves some jail time for this million dollar fraud.
Go here if link doesn't work with your player or for a larger screen version.
Update: Here is the post from yesterday morning with more links for research.
Gateway Pudit has more on the Peter Paul vs Hillary dust up with video and proof of her involvement in illegal fundraising.

Mike Yon On Basra

My blogger platoon leader Amy Procter has the CNN video interview with Mike.

An Unholy Alliance

I have written before about the anti-war moonbats and their support for the jihadi scum. Walid Phares has a great piece about just that, and the way the islamists are using those useful idiots to further their campaign against Western values.

The oddest of all factional relationships is the open alliance between the Jihadists and the so-called "antiwar" neo-Left movement in the West. The jumble of causes thrown together is mind-bending: globalization hobnobs with the caliphate, class struggle with Wahabism, proletariat with infidels, and North Korea with Palestine.

While still shedding each others' blood, the Reds (neo-Left) and the Dark Greens (Islamists) are conducting a joint offensive against both democracy-pushing America and the democracy-craving Middle East. They are not letting old or new grudges get in their way

Chicken Lady Clinton

Thats what Jeff Lord over at American Spectator has dubbed her as he writes about what a Clinton presidency could look like with a livid GOP armed with Democrat precedent on Judges and US attornies. He is right we would make her time in the Whitehouse a living hell of investigations and calls for impeachment. I hope to mahe life for her on the campaign trail a living hell before she ever gets that far.

OK, she wins.

Let's follow all the conventional wisdom of the moment. Hillary sweeps the primaries, then goes on to rout Rudy or Mitt or McCain or Fred. It is now January 21, 2009, one day after she is inaugurated as the first woman president of the United States. President Hillary Rodham Clinton sits down behind the big desk in the Oval Office, relishing the moment. In walks her chief of staff, looking clearly disturbed. The traditional presidential honeymoon is, he or she says, not to be.

Why?

For the first time a new realization dawns. The Bush payback has begun.

President Hillary's first task, once unthinkably routine for all new presidents, is to replace every U.S. Attorney in the country. The Constitution says clearly that she has every right to do so. But up on Capitol Hill, the pent-up fury of Republicans at the precedents set by Democrats during the Bush years has finally boiled over. The Republican Senate leader has sent word that a single firing of any Bush-appointed U.S. Attorney anywhere in the land will be received with cries of scandal.

Lets Play Make Believe

In what has to be one of the strangest stories ever on a non-story, moonbat talker on Air America, Randi Rhoads, trips and falls down walking her dog and an on air collegue turns it into a mugging hate crime by a right winger. I have seen the story blogged a few places but Michelle Malkin has the most posted about it and posts some komments by the Kos Kidz.

Air America radio host Randi Rhodes is temporarily off the air, but claims she was brutally attacked near her Manhattan apartment are bogus, her lawyer and a police source said today.
Fellow host Jon Elliott claimed on the liberal radio network that Rhodes had been mugged while walking her dog, Simon, on Sunday night. Elliot, who said Rhodes lost several teeth in the attack, waxed about a possible conspiracy.
“Is this an attempt by the right-wing, hate machine to silence one of our own?” he asked on the air, according to Talking Radio, a blog. “Are we threatening them? Are they afraid that we’re winning? Are they trying to silence intimidate us?”
A police source said Rhodes never filed a report and never claimed to be the victim of a mugging. Cops from Manhattan’s 17th Precinct called her attorney, who told them Rhodes was not a victim of a crime, the source said.
Rhodes’ lawyer told the Daily News she was injured in a fall while walking her dog.

Hillary And George Sitting In A Tree

Well not quite but they did spend election night '04 together, Clinton attended Soros' party at his apartment that night to watch Kerry lose to Bush. I would have loved to be a fly on the wall to watch that as exit polls came out showing Kerry the winner only to have it snatched away from them once again once the real polls came out.

Absolutely Amazing

Oh Happy Happy Joy Joy

I have to go for jury selection in the morning, if it sounds interesting I will answer for the lawyers, if it sounds boring I will answer for me by telling them I will blog the trial. I will blog it one way or the other since I am fascinated by the court system anyway. I hope it is an interesting case at least since they will only pay me about $17.00 bucks a day, forced labor, you betcha, I make four times that in the private sector an hour. Maybe I will get an illegal immigrant rape or murder trial, that would be sweet if I can cage my responses correctly. If I am selected I am going to be the biggest pain in the neck they ever wanted as I will blog the trial day by day and leak all the juice.
