Mark Steyn On Obama As Political Viagra
Obama in delivering his victory speech last week seemed to buy into the image the MSM is attempting to paint him as some sort of messiah. Good grief the guy is a talented speaker when delivering prepared remarks to his adoring throng of cult worshippers but he is hardly the saviour of mankind. Here is what he had to say towards the end of his message of hope and change we should not believe in.
I face this challenge with profound humility, and knowledge of my own limitations. But I also face it with limitless faith in the capacity of the American people… I am absolutely certain that generations from now, we will be able to look back and tell our children that this was the moment when we began to provide care for the sick and good jobs to the jobless; this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal… This was the moment — this was the time — when we came together to remake this great nation...
Wow does this guy have one massive arrogant ego or what? What he means of course is the federal government taking care of the sick with socialized medical care and government jobs in a revamped CCC. The real sticky part is about causing the oceans to recede when they aren't rising, is he going to deliver another Ice Age or return us to the Dark Ages?
Enough of my rant go see Steyn's piece for a real take down by a far better wordsmith than myself. Here is a little taste from the master.
It’s a good thing he’s facing it with “profound humility,” isn’t it? Because otherwise who knows what he’d be saying. But mark it in your calendars: June 3, 2008 — the long awaited day, after 232 years, that America began to provide care for the sick. Just a small test program: 47 attendees of the Obama speech were taken to hospital and treated for nausea. Everyone else came away thrilled that the Obamessiah was going to heal the planet and reverse the rise of the oceans: when Barack wants to walk on the water, he doesn’t want to have to use a step-ladder to get up on it.
As Steyn says, if America is such a great nation why do we need to turn it into Europe?

C'mon, now. Obama wants to change America into Europe because (a) his underpinnings are rooted in European politics, especially socialism, if not outright Marxism; and (b) two of his "spiritual" brainwashers--sorry, I meant advisers--have called on God to damn America and have called America the greatest sin against God.
As for a massive ego that Obama may have? I used to think that. Now it seems he's not just a narcissist, but a truly deluded and frightening one at that. The guy needs a few psychological screenings or so to see if he's functioning well.
To answer your question, Goat, he'll return us to the Dark Ages!
I agree... Steyn is brilliant. :)
