The Second Coming Of Jimmy Carter

McCain knocks it out of the park. This should resonate with those of us old enough to remember how lousy Carter was as POTUS and will probably be an attack point for McCain throughout the campaign. Obama's supporters are either too young to know or think Jimmy is the best thing since sliced bread for his support of palestine and draconian regulatory regime that lead to gas lines, high taxation, 18% mortgage rates, 12% inflation, the hostage crisis in Iran and the worst economy since the depression.

Democrats try to blame the high price of gas on Bush but in reality it is they that have blocked domestic sources of energy that would help. The economy has experienced over six years of expansion and appears to weathering the housing and oil bubbles fairly well. Yeah we had a spike in unemployment last cycle but that is due to hundreds of thousands of college and high school students newly entering the workforce and with the increased minimum wage and higher fuel costs employers are less likely to higher inexperienced workers even for short term part time positions. These are Democrat policies that have put us in this position not Republican ones since the downturn started the day Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid assumed the chairs of leadership in Congress aided by the drumbeat of fake negative reporting in the MSM. The last thing we need in an economic slowdown is for the socialistic democrats to gain control of the economy by putting them in power. Obama is nothing new just a pretty retread of failed policies.

Goat,
I was only a kid at the time, but I do remember "odd/even" days at the fuel pumps. My Dad is a mechanic and had two license plates to get around it. Obama is doing a "hope"-a-dope on America.

I think you give him too much credit, dear friend. I am not among those who think Obama is "pretty." His ears are far too big! LOL!

There is good news but the press doesn't want us to hear it.
