More On Obama, Ayers And Dohrn

After Sarah Palin started hitting Obama about his ties to the domestic terrorist duo Obama spokesman David Axelrod today tried to claim Obama didn't know about their history. That has got to be one of the biggest steamiest piles of BS yet in this campaign. The Weather Underground terror campaign didn't end in '68, it was started then and continued well into the '80s. Obama and his wife have known this pair for at least two decades, they have worked at the same law firms and the same boards with the same goals of a radical transformation of America into a socialist state. Go read this great essay by Bob Owens that explores this relationship between the two Chicago couples.

By 1995, Barack Obama had known Bill Ayers at least eight years since their shared involvement in the Alliance for Better Chicago Schools, if not longer. Bernardine Dohrn, once labeled “the most dangerous woman in America” by none other than J. Edgar Hoover, was also well known as the inspiration for the 1988 movie Running on Empty. Subtle terrorists they were not.

As noted in the New York Times, Obama has tried to minimize his relationship with Ayers, dismissing him as “a guy who lives in my neighborhood” and “somebody who worked on education issues in Chicago that I know.”

Axelrod also tried to excuse the extent of Obama’s involvement with Ayers, stating, “Bill Ayers lives in his neighborhood. Their kids attend the same school. … They’re certainly friendly, they know each other, as anyone whose kids go to school together.”

It’s an obvious fiction pitched by Axelrod, since the Obama children are presently in elementary school, while Ayers’ children are all grown adults, but the Ayers-Obama family connection doesn’t stop at the imaginary connections between the children.

Bernardine Dohrn, Ayers’ wife, has largely escaped recent scrutiny, but that lack of attention doesn’t reduce her role as either a leader — and some may argue, the leader — of the Weathermen. Nor can it mask her ties to both Barack and Michelle Obama. It’s now a family affair.

Be concerned America if this is the kind of judgement Obama would exhibit in his picks for Cabinet positions, he certainly has not had very good judgement in the past or even the recent past. Obama is not to be trusted with the reins of power.

Goat, if Obama wins, he'll screw this country up so badly we won't even recognize it. He'll cut spending in all the wrong places, like the military, just to name one! He will raise taxes, and to add insult to injury, our enemies will be praising Allah and dancing in the streets. When an enemy of ours like Hamas endorses Obama, it's not because they believe he's going to be good for America.

Good post!

Picks for an Obama cabinet concern me less than his own character and the many, many hidden aspects of his life from Columbia moving forward.

We have a tapestry of information with so many loose threads Obama's credibility should have fallen apart; instead the press and his slick marketing have served his stealth campaign well.

I too have written endlessly about Obama and his sordid "friendships" but in this last month 1/2 or more of this country really doesn't know who they are voting for when they vote agains GWB.

Goat,

Long time, no comment.

I think the Obama supporters just stick their fingers in their ears and yell, "LALALALALALALALALALALA!" until the right stops talking about people like Ayers. Their goal is to minimize, if not outright ignore such things and focus on how well he reads a teleprompter and how sweetly sounding his rhetoric is. The Bush-hatred amongst the left is so deep and overwhelming that they'll take anyone, no matter how inept and unlikely to benefit the country. Barry O is the perfect chump for this feeling.

I am watching from down under and becoming increasingly concerned,

Gayle is correct!

Obama's change will make the descriptor "fundamental' seem benign in any future narratives of America…

The more we learn the more I fear this Senator Obama. I just read where Ayers was in Venezula with Chavez supporting his programs. It does appear that the American people believe the MSM who wants a Socialist style government, but, God help these same people when they are out of work.

I don't know why Obama's judgement is called in to play regarding his picks for campaign advisors, preachers, business associates, or friends. It seems to me, his picks are spot on, just the types of people he wants to be around, that fit in with his belief system: Unrepentant terrorists, Chicago hoodlums, Government Cheats, and Black Nationalists.

Have you been following the Berg-Obama case?

This is a PUMA blog, and they are some agitated people. Their goal is to get Obama _out_, and the Democrat attack on Palin has opened the eyes of many. Nevertheless, not enough so that if by hook or by crook Hillary were to be substituted for Obama, they'd not be right back in the nest, I think.

The Obama campaign banks on the notion that we're all too stupid to see through their B.S. Sure it's insulting, but it also proves how thoroughly out of touch they are with the average American.
