GOP Debate

With the exception of Dr. Paul the GOP is fairly set in its message on the war and other policies. I am a fair taxer so I liked Huckabees' take on it. Who won, Duncan Hunter, my man Mitt Romney stumbled a bit but came in second,Sen. McCain third. I am a fan of Tom Tancredo and his place is in the House with Dr. Paul articulating what they did on stage. John McCain did very well but I doubt it will bolster his campaign much.

I think we have a very strong field of candidates to take on a very weak DNC field, Hillary is their front runner, good grief and behind her is a vacant empty hole and a bigger socialist than she is, BO and Silky Pony. I have no wonder why they would evade Fox and Chris Matthews, they would not be able to answer the questions, he was tough.

Yes, he was tough, Goat, and I'm sure the Dems couldn't have handled it.

I thought Huckabee did extremely well and I liked him the best last night. Rudy needs to do a lot more than constantly talk about what he did in NYC. Paul shouldn't even be in the Republican party, he sounds like an independent or a Democrat to me.

Dr. Paul is very conservative on life, taxes, spending, and reducing the size and scope of the Federal Gov't but he is a nut when it comes to defense, he's kinda like the polar opposite of Joe Lieberman, super liberal but strong on defense. Huckabee did well and got his chance to smack down Paul in what was the highlite of the debate. It is time for Brownback to gracefully exit, a photo of a townhall meeting in New Hampshire showed about a half dozen folks, it has got to be embarrasing to give a speech to an empty room and he is at the bottom of most polls. I hope they limit the next one to Mitt, Rudy, Mike, Fred, John and Ron.

I'm seeing all different arguments on who won last night. I get the feeling you don't care for Giuliani very much. Yet, I think he did well. Hunter was very impressive, and if he was a U.S. Senator, and think he'd have a helluva chance at winning the White House.

I actually think McCain will get a boost out of the debate, especially if his performance helps his fundraising.

Don, actually Rudy would be my second choice, he just needs to expand his ideas from New York accomplishments. I am with Mitt through the primaries and the GOP for the general, whom ever the nominee is except perhaps Dr.Paul. Rudy knows how to deal with a difficult situation and get the job done. Duncan would be a shoe-in if he had some executive experience and wasn't a relatively obscure SoCal Congressman. You're down there are you in his or John Campbell's, my favorite person in the House, district?
